Is someone able to tell me what time the Parent and Child show in Wellington begins and ends on Friday? Is it open in the evening or just until 5.00 or 4.30?
Thanks heaps.

Yay looking forward to going along and getting lots of free samples. At antenatal class we have been given loads of samples already too - I can add some of these items into my hospital bag for myself and baby

Wish I had a hubby to lug the heffalump around
I'd like to go... Sat morning sounds like a winner... I can justify the time spent not doing school work as I'd be running around after Hannah (/spending time on here) anyway!

Am not sure when we are going to go yet - maybe Sat late morning.
Millie, you should bump that thread again. I would be keen. I finish work in two weeks and would love to meet up with some other mums and mums to be.

Well we went today and had a fun day. It wasn't all that busy which was great. There were a few place that said on the web site would be there but weren't (only Organic and Watties Baby Food) and a few that weren't on the list that were there (the condom place - Marquis). Did get lots of nappy samples thou.

I didn't get many freebies. Most of the stuff wasn't really toddler oriented! Damnit.
Was impressed with all the stuff Huggies was giving away though. Got some samples of their new bath range.

Even me (who isn't preggers and has no kids) got tons of samples! lol.. I came away with over 10 nappies and some wipes and plenty of formula samples

I reckon its more aimed at pregnant people. Had loads and loads of those cloth nappy system stalls! Didn't matter to us as we were already using disposables and weren't looking to change etc. Also, with the likes of the formula stands, they wouldn't give out free sample satchets to us as they couldn't promote formula for under 1 year olds so a bit sucky!!

Decided not to go as we've no use for formula or baby food now.. and the nappies I use now I'm more than happy with and for $10 I can get 2 packs of 16 nappies, which I doubt I'd get in samples lol

that wqhole "can't promote formula| thing is such crap. When you decide to formula feed your baby, getting the right info is so important, but so difficult to get. and asking plumket sometimes is like mentioning that you'd like to sacrifice your child to the windgod or whatever.

I 100% completely agree lizzle!! I was so so worried about telling Plunket I'd switched Ashlee to formula that I took my mum with me! Ended up with a very nice nurse who said 'that's ok, I don't expect you to explain' and moved on so I was very relieved, (I would've probably let her have it as well!) but yeah they don't give you any guidance or info on it either.
But that's a whole 'nother thread

*nods* there should be a leeway for this kinda thing what happens if the mothers were in my situation and had no choice but to formula feed and have no idea on what to do? the nurses at the hospital were useless and no help i had to pick something then ask friends for help!

I was a bit disappointed really - I went by myself, and felt like I was invisible!! I'm not obviously pregnant yet, and it seemed like noone wanted to talk to me!!
Managed to get a few nappy samples eventually but it was a lot of hard work!
The only really friendly bunch was the Playcentre stand.
Just my personal experience, but not sure I'd bother again...

I wouldn't bother again either. We got a few nappies and some stuff from Huggies but I didn't think it was that great either littlejo.

The one thing that I thought was pretty good was a pack of 24 nappies from "Nappy House" - did anyone go to that stand? Otherwise everything else was pretty disappointing and like you Littlejo felt a little invisible at some stages too and some of the hosts were too busy gas bagging to each other!

I went Sunday afternoon and would have to say that was a good time. Picked up Gold Karicare 6 month plus for $10 per container (normally approx $18 and the supermarket). Got 9 tins because its such a good savings and we go through a tin a week. Nappy samples were great and I also stocked up on the meadow fresh drink - on Sunday they were giving away 6 drinks (the cardboard ones) for $1. Bargain. Sunday afternoon was quieter. This time I went by myself with Alex and that was good as I could move around when I wanted to
