Hi all, I am looking at getting some cloth nappies for when my baby is born. I have looked at several websites as well as at babycity and babyfactory and there are soooooo many!

Can anyone recommend any brands that have worked for them?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I recommend Itti Bitti's for the day time. The snap apart ones are more absorbant than the AIO's, but both work well. You can pick up good second hand ones off trade me, and they have a good re-sale value.

Babyland and Mybaby from trade me are also good brands, you can quite often get a good deal on the $1 res auctions, I usually get 5 nappies and 10 inserts for under $50. These are pocket nappies which are great cause you can stuff them with all sorts of absorbant materials.

Pop-in's are another great one. The pop-in original is the best night time nappy that I have come across, it lasts all night and can be worn from NB through to toddler.

Most people choose to use prefolds for the first couple of months, these are a rectangle of fabric that you can fold to put around your baby, then you put a waterproof cover over top. We used these until DD was about 6 weeks then I swapped over to the pockets and Itti's.

Look up Snazzipants website, they have good instructions on how to use cloth nappies and photos too! good luck

Baby Cheeks nappies are awesome - reasonably affordable (especially when Farmers have 50% off sales) and super comfy looking.

Agree with Aethalia about prefolds being the best for brand new babies.

The only nappies that I have consistently had success with (mainly no leaks!!) are Ecobubs wool pockets. They are the best. I've also tried their day pocket nappy and they work great too. Would highly recommend them as worth trying.

I absolutely love my YOYO nappies. they are made in NZ and have NEVER had a leak in 15 months.

I use a combo of pockets and prefolds.

You can even design your own colour choices etc !
