Yup that's what I did.
So I did steamed or boiled carrot sticks (soft enough to mush against roof of mouth), kumara (orange because I only like that one ), potatoes, banana, apples (but I didn't soften it so she just sucked the juice out really), tinned pears (in clear fruit juice but some wash it), peaches (same as pears - tinned), courgettes...
About 7 months (so after 1 months) I introduced meet - just shavings from roast mainly.
And also sandwiches.
If you are looking for ideas, go to the photo gallery and there is a photo album BLW and you can see what others offer their babies!

I just offered DD fruit and veges and meat, I didnt give her any wheat based products till she was 8 months. Just cut things into stick shapes about finger length. DD only really started eating at 8 months, before then she just tasted stuff.

That's a good point, Lily took about a month to start eating properly, before then she'd eat a little bit, mainly just taste and experiment (which is what they do!) and play with it. Mushing it in her hands, etc.
It's also very messy but don't let that put you off!
I recommend grabbing a copy of the book and reading it.
And we do finger length and width sticks sorta twice DDs palm in length. And my finger width.

i gave my daughter sushi at about 6 mths old.

Anything and everything.... (but like Bizzy has said, not too seasoned and no sugar).
To begin with pear, carrot, broccoli & kumara were DS favourite foods.

Yes I should have said, I don't salt any of our food ( much to hubby's disgust) and no sugar.
Sushi is a big hit here too and roasted courgette goes down well also.

We don't add salt or sugar here either, though I have started giving weetbix and give maybe 1/4 a teaspoon of sugar (if that) on it with plain water.
Have only used salt once in her food, but generally go without!
We flavour it with different herbs/spices though.

We've been doing BLW for about a 3 weeks now and it's so much fun. Started on steamed brocolli, beans, carrots and courgette, roast pumpkin and capsicum, kumara, potato, plus cucumber, banana, sticks or chunks of cheese and now moved onto more ordinary food that we eat. DD is loving toast and porridge for breakfast and we tried her on spag bol for dinner last night. So far, there's nothing she's turned her nose up at.
Does anyone have any good recipe ideas? How's everyone else going with their BLW?

We've been doing it for 5 months! No problems until we got teeth (she went on a food strike for 1 week (got 2 teeth) and she's been rather fussy since then!

Dont worry about how much toast baby is eating- its all about learning the different tastes/ textures!
DS is 13 months now- started blw at 6 months- hardly ate anything til 8 months. Now he eats anything and everything!
For breakfast he has either cornflakes/ricebubbles/weetbix or porridge with tinned fruit (in juice) and milk - no added sugar. Then a slice of toast with either just butter (we use olivani), or marmite or vegemite and occasionally jam, and a peice of fruit!
When introcucing meat I just cut it into strips - sasuages (cut into 4 strips length- ways) and steak is what we stated with. Chicken leg bones to chew- with the very thin long bone and the grissle bit on the end removed.

We do quite a variety for breakfast... Porridge, weetbix, yoghurt, tinned fruit in juice or fresh fruit, toast with various toppings, sometimes toasted sammies, creamed corn... can't think of anything else sorry!
I have a question re BLW and teething... DD finally got her first 3 teeth at about 10mo in about 1.5-2 weeks, but since then she's gone off her food... She's barely eaten a thing the past month! Still happy and healthy and appears to be growing but she's gone from eating 3 decent sized meals a day to taking a bite or 2 and being done and some days doesn't even eat a thing!
She was sick over the weekend and yesterday was the first time in a month that she actually ate something for all 3 meals! Still not what she was eating but more than a bite or 2!
She is still BF and our days go like this... 6.30am wake up, 8am breakfast, 10/10.30 BF and nap for 2 hours, 12 ish wake up, 12.30 lunch, and about 3ish BF and nap for 2 hours, then dinner at about 6.30 and a BF and bed at about 7.30ish... She still feeds about 2-3 times over night depending. My doc reckons I am feeding her too much BM over night which is why she isn't eating but I don't believe that because she was eating so well until her teeth came and that's the only 'difference!'.
Anyone experienced anything similar??

Nic whenever Cooper has been sick he goes completely off his food and will increase his BF instead. I'd give it a few more days as her body is still recovering and milk is probably all she can really handle just yet.
As for breakfast we do, porridge, rice bubbles, corn flakes, yoghurt, fresh fruit, picklets, toast. A bit of everything and anything really.
We went out for breakfast on the weekend and DS had grilled tomato, hashbrown, banana and a bit of french toast.

Thanks for all the good breakfast tips, think I just need to be a bit more adventurous and get into the cereals. I put a bit of vegemite on toast this morning and the look on DD's face was priceless. She wasn't fussed on fish paste on toast either so I think we might try muesli tomorrow!
Lil_Nic9 - sorry I can't help with the BLW and teething. DD has two teeth and two more coming through and she hasn't slowed down. Hope your DD gets back into it soon
