Ok random question but i have been put on the pill and this is the first time this has ever happened to me.

How long should breakthrough bleeding last? This is almost like a light period to and has been going for a week. Have cramping to!

Mmm mine used to last about a week.

It takes a few months for your body to get used to the changes.

But if you are worried talk to your midwife or gp

Is it mini or combined pill? I was on mini and I was bleeding for about 4 bloody weeks so stopped taking it and have been fine since.

I had the same prob I was on the mini pill and it eventually went away but then came back and every time we had sex it would come back. I had non stop bleeding for a month so i stopped taking it.

Sometimes that can be a side effect depending on what ones you are taking. If it carries on or becomes a prob. GO BACK (even though after reading about docs charges on other post... lol) have a talk to the practice nurse there and often they can be a huge help as to figuring out what is right for you. If something doesn't work medically, go back.. they are a consumer service too, you shouldn't have to settle for taking something that causes probs.. stopping takin git may stop the bleeding but then you are back at square one again?!

ooh you can also ring and talk to the practice nurse as well - sometimes they give great advice over the phone (and it costs you nothing.. lol sneaky) I spose it all depends on how good your practice nurse is.

Since i had a problem getting pregnant last time this will be a good years worth of charts and by the time i want to TTC again ill know whats happening with my body and if ill need clomid again

lololol.... ahhh but once you have conceived... *usually* your body thinks "ah, so THAT'S what i need to do.."    so hopefully you won't need it.

Jess, my body hats all the pills there are on the market in NZ. I tried all of them from the $3 ones through to the $30 a month ones. Totally understand not going on it. And being the expert charter you are you 'll be fine with the 'O' dates. And even if you want to around those dates ther eare always other things you can do and use. Have you thought of an IUD? I know i'm having the mirena put in 6 weeks after having this one, more for the blood loss and low iron levels than the contraception. There are some that are quite cheap and some (like the mirena) that are expensive, but can be covered by medical insurance or through the public health system. Worth investigating if you are looking a a contraception. And you could always ring the practice nurse and they could tell you the prices and how you qualify for some of them.
