ummm . . . relations with my husband worked for me. I started having contractions immediatly after. It was the last thing I wanted at the time - but knew it would be a while before I would want to again, it was a day before my due day and I had just finished work so I wasnt thrilled.

nothing works Paws! I suggest getting out of theb house as much as possible though cause those phone calls
"have you had the baby yet?" drove me CRAZY!!! and it was nice getting some fresh air and going for waddles around the block.
Good luck chikkie! hopefully you'll have little Maddie in your arms soon. And remember - worst case scenario you only have two more weeks.

I think that's what frustrates me the most is knowing that none of the old wives tales really work. I'm just impatient now! *lol* Last night we were getting a curry anyway and thought "what the heck we'll get it spicer than normal" but I knew it would do nothing.
And yeah the "anything happening?" texts are starting to drive me a little balmy but but not tooooo bad yet.
I have 2 coffee dates lined up today and I'm busy making plans for the rest of the week too...
At least I know Monique (my LMC) has said 10 days over is the limit so not long...

Hey Paws,
Have you had the baby yet?
hehehe all the best! And remember, only 20% of babies come on their due dates. That's only 1 in 5

So how's this for an interesting thing... 1 in 5 babies come on their due dates, right? Well, I did, Nat did, and Josiah did!
Good luck Paws... if I didn't live so far away I'd quite happily help keep you busy 'til Maddie arrives!

I had Andrew 1 hour after his due date, but went into labour 21 hours into his due date.
Paws, I would so turn the sell phone down or even off when you are at home. They drove me nuts the "anything happened yet" texts.

Catchy tune...my MIL is going to be away for the week I'm actually due, so I've had a constant stream of 'you should have the baby this week' talk from her. Coupled with my mother's ever so helpful 'is he still moving?' questions and hubby telling the bump it's time to come out - AND the trips to hospital for monitoring I've reacted in a 'he'll come out sometime' approach. The people asking me if I'm having twins are a bit annoying though....
Ah well, this time next month we'll all be comparing barrier creams and nipple treatments.

Oh yea i remember those texts. The most annoying thing is that they were mainly from my brother and sister and they would be the first people to know that he had arrived.
Ok, I have to say the sex thing might have some truth to it. We did on the Friday night and again on Sunday morning (poss TMI SOrry) and i went into labour on the Monday. Maybe have been from the sex may not but i am not ruling anything out.

Have you also had the people who if you take more than 5 rings to answer the phone, greet you with a "oh my gosh I thought you must be in the hospital having the baby, you took sooo long to answer"!?? Puh-lease... what 9-month pregnant woman is gonna run to the phone?!! Last text I got asking if I was having the baby at the time, I replied to with a "yep - at hospital now, but midwife is worried, because the baby is estimated to be over 13lb, and she also has 2 heads. I'll never find clothes to fit her".

Well, Gen did come over and we went for a walk, but sorry to say ladies... she left my place in one piece I think some of her nesting vibes rubbed off on me though, because as my munchkin was down for a nap, I cleaned the microwave, stovetop, kitchen bench, and coffee table. Oh, and prepped dinner

Oh my gosh, Andie that's hilarious!!
I did have someone leave a message on my phone saying 'well, you're not home so you MUST be at the hospital. Hope all is okay, and ring us when you get home blah blah blah'. That was BEFORE my due date, and I went 13 days overdue
Also got an email from a friend saying 'I didn't hear from you yesterday so I'm assuming you're in hospital having the baby!' That was before my due date as well!
Ahh I remember it all to well LOL

My girlfriend rang me, and I really was in labour so didn't answer. So she just trotted up to the hospital and came in after Jake was born. She was his first visitor. It was hilarious as she didn't even know his proper due date.

Well the appointment today with my LMC revealed that I am quite likely to be singing a happy 41 week song as well. *sigh*
Everything closed up tight and she refuses to drop or budge....stubborn minx!! Good thing my LMC has a plan...Maddie is coming out by hook or by crook!
