Anyone have any brilliant plans for Valentine's Day?
I'm a bit stumped... no money and can't think of anything creative at this stage.

Wow reading this makes me feel kind of bad. I hate Valentines day, and have no interest in celebrating.
Unless i mention it DP would have no idea it was Valentines

Fish and Chips at the park/beach without kids maybe? Either for dinner or at lunch time when the kids are in daycare if you can't get a babysitter.
We don't do Valentines so have no other ideas.

My DH always says he doesn't like to be told when to buy me stuff, send flowers etc to tell me he lves me. It's all commercialism blah blah blah.
I keep telling him the only people who are allowed to say that are the people who actually think of doing on other days of the year. But because he doesn't he has to throw me a bone and do it on the day he is told to
We don't do much though. For the last three years we have done what we call the 5 minute $10 dollar challenge. We each have 5 minutes and $10 to buy each other a gift from the warehouse and then we meet back at the car. We have found some truly hilarious gifts. Then we have an antipasto dinner at home because it means there’s no cooking or cleaning for either of us to do. It’s a silly think but we enjoy it

We normally don't celebrate, don;t see the point in celebrating it one day a year because imo, you should treat your partner every once and a while not kinda be forced too...
We are celebrating this year though because pre DD we'd go to the movies and dinner once or twice a month and haven't been since Dec 09 so we're doing dinner and a movies! First date in over a year!

It's our engagement anniversary so we always do a little something, usually cards and a little gift (like choccies or something, we don't have the $$ for anything more). If we can arrange it, we'll get someone to look after the kids and we might have take-out at the lake or somehting like that.
QTmum - I like your 5min $10 challenge! It sounds like fun!
MF - you win!!

MF- you so win.. lol...
we dont do it either.. seems kinda weird to 'have' to buy something just because we are told too...plus D isnt romantic so forcing him is kinda silly too.. we are going out on saturday though..

we don't do Valentines day, don't see the point in it & not interested in buying stuff because of it. We had DS1 on the 9/2 & was in hospital for 6 days so was more interested in our new baby & have not done it since.
I think if you are going to do something then have a nice dinner or picnic, something you can do yourself
MF that's the best present ever

We don't "do" Valentines either. However I really like coking and making things, so I made him Mango Lassi ice cream (he loves that drink whenever we get Indian)
He's asked if I want anything, I just said to pick some flowers from the garden (and while you're out there you could mow the lawn and do some weeding!)
I must say "I think I might have a baby for him" does trump all else!

lol my OB appt is tomorrow, so apparently my valentines gift is finding out when baby will be evicted Was going to make him his fave cake, but I'm not allowed to eat any of it til after baby is here, so I dont want that temptation sitting on my table calling out to me... He can have his cake, and eat it AFTER baby is here
