My son has a Nuby no spill sippy cup and whenever he drinks from it the top kind of sucks in and stays like that, it won't let the air back in so he can keep drinking. I have made sure the little cut bit is actually cut so not sure what the problem is.

Do you have one that you could recommend? He also has a Nuby drink bottle one with a weird straw kinda thing thats also no spill but he doesn't like that.

Aiden has that same nuby one that sucks in- its useless. He now drinks water from a tuperware tumbler with no lid on it- me holding it, or else a little sipper bottle from the supermarket- like an adults sports water bottle- not a baby cup. Its not non-spill tho- and he loves to turn it upside down and squeezes it so water goes everywhere- but he is able to drink a decent ammount of water from it.

We have that Nuby one too and it's so useless, I also spent heaps on a Tommee Tippee soft sprout cup and it's ridiculous how much it leaks, how it's a 'non spill' cup is beyond me.

I bought a $8.99 completely plastic/hard one from The Baby Factory and it's been fantastic and it's the only one I use now - no leaks, yay!!

Libby has a nuby no spill straw cup with a bite valve that's brilliant. She's not so good at tipping up cups though so I need to improve that somehow

We've been using the Nuby one with the straw it's 9mo plus but been using it since about 7-8mo, so much better as DD couldn't tip the normal nuby one up high enough but worked out the straw right away. I think it's about $15-17 though.

I have found that the selection in nz is poor to say the least. I use the playtex tumbler shaped ones from the USA. We lived there and even bought some over for family members because they used ours and loved it. Not sure if you can order them online etc but well worth the cost at only $7 US for two from target - but can get them anywhere. Maybe shipping will be worth it. Excellent to clean. Pull the valve out and throw in the cutlery basket in the diswasher and the rest is top shelf dishwasher. No leaks and tough as boots. My daughter is 5 years old and has had them since she was 1. We only use them for water at night now to avoid spills but they are still good with no leaks. Best ever cup. Someone really should import these.

Don't know how to do the fancy linky thing but here is some that are for sale on ebay at the moment. They don't ship internationally but someone will I am sure. The replacement valve is good too incase you lose them but like I said mine are 4 years plus and still good to go and non spill

Um well, I've had a avent sippy spouts, tommee tippee sippy and straw ones that are $2.50 a the supermarket tomee tippew straw bottle, nuby straw bottle, and a Nuby almost teat like sippy. This might be the one your talking about.

So far the straw bottles seem to be the best cause DS doesn't have ti tip the whole bottle up.

Watties Baby Basics is the one we have found to be the best. It doesnt leak, is easy for them to drink out of (at a decent speed!) and doesnt fall apart by itself!!! We have about 4 or 5 of them between our place and grandparents and they all seem good. Only thing is is that the kids chew the spout off, but they are still leak proof with half a spout so thats good!!

Dont ever get a tommee tippee with a silicon spout, I loved the look of them but the top silicon spout falls out as soon as the child/baby starts sucking!!! What a dumb idea!!

We have a nuby straw cup as well. Its fantastic. Also I did quite a bit of research on styles of cups, and straw cups are recommended from speech language therapist. It helps with the muscles in the jaw and helps with lanugage development of the 'w' and 'oo' sounds. Just if any one is interested-a link to http://mommyspeechtherapy.com/?p=12 - info about it (yes I'm a geek)

We have had all sorts lol.

We have straw ones, sippy ones, the watties baby basic one is good, have had that since DS was 4 months! Still going strong!
At the moment though the kids are using the avent magic cup ones, which dont leak at all and they cant shake or tip the water out or squeeze it out, they have to suck.

We have that one your talking about Tania, and its hopeless!! Bella would soak herself with the damn thing everytime, and it did the suck in thing, so its just sitting at the back of the cuboard now.

The Amadeus 360 is awesome.  It is the only cup that DS has been unable to spill from.

I bought the Tommee Tippee Explorer no spill one, the straw one. FAR OUT it is useless! Waste of $10!! We've gone back to the two cheapo Sistema (I think?) straw cups I bought at Pak n Save last time I was home in NZ! DS can pour water from them of course but he also likes to suck/drink water then spit it out anyway so non-spill doesn't really stop that

When he was younger he had the Pigeon straw cup, stage 3 I think it is. Great but a bit useless in the nappy bag coz it leaks.

When we're out and about he has a Smash bottle with the hard straw that folds down. As long as the lid is screwed on properly it never leaks.
