Hi
I was just wondering if anyone else is due in May 2007 and wanted to join me! I just got my first BFP on Saturday, and thought it would be great to be able to chat with others going through the same, maybe different, things at the same time!
Looking forward to chatting!

Hi Georgie, I'm due in April, but there is a May Mummy in or thread so I'm sure she will be joining you soon.

Hi Georgie K!
I am also due in May 2007, on the 29th so we're not too far apart! I just got my BFP yesterday on our first month of trying. So excited!!! Its still sinking in and I am just so grateful it happened so quickly for us. I have a doctors appointment to confirm the pregnancy on Monday so can't wait for that. Does anyone know when you should be contacting a midwife?
Oh yeah, and this is our first baby although my husband has a 10 year old son already

Hi Bayley! Congratulations on your BFP! It's so exciting yet so unbelievable at the same time! I went to my Dr on Monday and got my blood test results back today - all good and I'm definately PG! He gave me the numbers of some midwives to contact and suggested getting one asap as they book up really fast - especially the good ones! I left a message with one on Tuesday night (she was in the delievery suite!), and am still waiting to here back from her. I'm really hoping to get it sorted by the end of the week!
This is a first baby for me and DH too! Congratulations again!

Hi, yep I'm due sometime around the middle of May, it's all very new to me but this website is great for advice and putting minds at ease!! I've also got to be careful no one at work sees me on this website gossip spreads like wildfire here! Where is everyone from? I'm from UK originally but have been over here for 5 years and now live in Nelson.

Hi Cat. Glad to see you've joined us! Congratulations! Yes, it's a whole new world really! At the moment I'm trying to keep track with what I can and can't eat now! Everyday I seem to read somewhere about something else you're not meant to eat! Also, things you're not meant to apply, eg: Arnica! (I did my neck/back a couple of days ago, and now feel really guilty about getting DH to rub arnica anti-flam cream on it for me!)
Oh well, at least we're all learning together!
By the way, I'm in Christchurch. I've been living here for two years now.

Hi!
I just found out this week that I am pregnant! I am due May 16th 2007! It still doesnt feel real! I had my blood test to confirm, and my hcg level was 1700. Is this normal for 6 weeks?? I kind of felt that GPs arent so helpful for first time Mums. I had to go back on my own accord the next day to ask for a blood test to confirm the pregnancy! Does anyone else have any similar opinions?

Hi again
Thanks Maya!
Hi Mum3three!
Welcome Giselja. Congratulations! Another May baby! I agree that I am feeling a bit 'left in the dark' at this stage too! Even the midwife I left a message with on Tuesday hasn't gotten back to me yet! I feel that the best place at the moment to go to for answers to all my questions are sites like these! It's kind of strange too, because here we are all excited at just finding out about our PG and wanting to know all these things (blood levels, when do I get a scan, should I do this or that etc), and yet Drs don't want to see us anymore and we are too early for midwives too!
Cat, hope your day is going better! I have a meeting all afternoon today, so I'm not looking forward to that! I am feeling really tired today after not feeling too bad for the rest of the week. Thank goodness it's Friday!

Giselja - I posted a whole big spiel about hCG levels in the Scared of M/C thread, basically there is a huuuuuge variance of normal. But yours sound OK. The most important thing is how they increase - they should double every 2 days.

Thank you! I guess I am just like normal expenctant Mums! Esp because I have had surgery 4 times for severe endometriosis over the last 7 years and have been off all contraception for 8 months and finally, I conceived and I had no idea I had! I just feel that this is the miracle that has been waiting to happen. I have just found a midwife, as there seems to be a shortage here in auckland, so even more stoked! I just feel nervous because my last period 6 weeks ago was a very light period and it was 2 weeks late and it lasted for only a day, which is a bit unnormal for me. But this website is excellent!

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd pop in to see what everyone has been up to! Well, after a lot of phone calls, I have finally found a midwife, which I am really pleased about! I just can't believe how quickly they book up! Everyone I called seemed to be booked up until 1 June 2007! In between tears (hormones!) thinking I'd never find one, I was really starting to believe that people must book them before they're PG - just in case!
So what PG signs do you have? So far, I have been getting mild AF-like cramps - mainly at nights, and I have also been really, really thirsty! My breasts have also continued to be a bit tender. No m/s yet! Does anyone else ever stop and wonder if they are still PG because things don't feel any different really than before PG?? I just can't wait until the end of the first trimestre, so hopefully I can stop worrying a bit!
Well, I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully I'll be inundated with lots of information! I am meant to be playing in a touch tournament this Saturday. I really want to pull out, but they will be short if I do, so kind of feel obliged. Although, I'm sure I'll be worried the whole time!
Anyway, I hope that everyone has had great weekends! Looking forward to catching up with you all.

Lucky you Georgie K not having morning sickness yet. I feel horrible, but trying to put a brave face on it so no one at work guesses. I was talking to my best friend on Saturday who never had any sickness or pains, she slept like a log every night etc - the perfect pregnancy - I'm jealous! I've found a midwife, got lots of info, she suggested eating ginger biscuits before I get out of bed in the morning!

I've heard that ginger is great for m/s. Also have heard that dry crackers first thing in the morning can help! I'm still waiting for it to hit every day! My manager always heats his lunch and eats it in the office, and I have to admit the smell of that today when I was feeling hungry, wasn't the best! My sense of smell is really heightened too. I put a new deodorant on today and it's all I've been able to smell all morning (well, until my manager's lunch)! It's so bad I think I'll have to stop in at the supermarket and buy another one tonight!

Oh blimey, this m/s is not good! I can't concentrate at work, keep having to disappear and throw up, can't stand the smell or taste of ginger anymore, have tried vitamin B6 crackers in the morning (they work for a couple of mins), my midwife suggested wearing those travel bands but how the hell am I going to explain that to everyone who are bound to ask? Funnily enough the only time I don't feel sick is when I'm eating and for about 2 mins after then the nausea comes back, but I can't eat 24/7! Anyone got any other "remedies" I'll try anything.....

Cat - you poor thing! I'm afraid I have no solutions at all. . If you haven't already, maybe you post post a new topic so that lots of people see it. Can you wear the bands so noone can see them? I'm sure if you are continually having to throw up, people might start to click anyway!
Anyway, I hope that you start to feel a little better soon. Luckily for me, no m/s yet, but I've just hit 6 weeks, when it typically starts. I felt a little nauseous yesterday, but nothing major.
All the best!

I wish I had some advice Cat. I had wicked ms with both pregnancies in the first tri, and am still throwing up every morning even now I stayed out of hospital by the skin of my teeth because I got so dehydrated.
I did find that eating little and often helped, I lived on toast for a while. And when I couldn't keep anything down I drank Mizone water to try and keep my sugar levels etc. up. Tried the Seabands and they didn't work for me but some people swear by them.
I also was prescribed Maxolon which is completely safe for bubs and helps with the constant nausea. Your GP can prescribe it. A couple of times I had to have Maxolon shots at the docs too when I couldn't keep the tablets down.
Hope you find something that helps. I really feel for you!

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't been on in a while - too much work to do to be able to get onto the computer! Cat I'm so sorry to hear about your m/s - I have exactly the same thing at the moment and I'm really suffering with it. Have been feeling really nauseous since last Thursday and its 24/7, meaning that I can't even get any sleep for a respite from it! Its such a horrible feeling. I went to the doctor on Saturday and she gave me some pills, but they haven't worked so I'm going back on Wednesday for another go! I've also got every homoeopathic rememdy out there and none of those are doing anything for me either!! Has everyone got a midwife yet? I'm so slack and I haven't gotten around to ringing one up - I really need to get onto it!
Anyway, would love to hear how to rest of you are going!

Hi Bayley
Firstly, to you and Cat, I'm afraid that I have now joined you on the m/s! So far I've just had horrible nausea, pretty much throughout the day from when I wake up (usually to go to the loo at 4am!). For me, I'm drinking lots of soda water, and trying to nibble lots! (Not that my hips will like me for it!) I don't want to eat all the time, yet my first sign of hunger is nausea and by then it's too late! The funny thing is that normally I have such a sweet tooth, but at the moment a gingernut is about as sweet as I get! I'm craving fruit! Oh well, fingers crossed it doesn't last too long for us! How is your's going Cat?
Bayley, I'm not sure where you are based, but I would definately suggest getting a midwife as soon as you can! At 5 weeks PG, I had to ring about 10 midwives before I found one that wasn't booked up until June!
Well, I am incredibly tired today, so I am hoping to get out of work a half hour early (my manager's away!). It is DH's birthday next week, so I really want to get his present organised as the rest of the week is looking busy!
I just bought a book of baby's names to see if there is any names I love that I hadn't thought of myself! The problem is there are just so many in there that I would never have!
Anyway, hope everyone is surviving the best they can! Looking forward to hearing what everyone's up to! Anyone showing yet??
Take care.

Hi guys, spoke to my midwife yesterday hoping she'd give me something for the ms having tried all the "remedies" she'd suggested when I spoke to her last time. She just told me to take some days off work, so here I am bored, feeling like crap at home watching daytime tv. I haven't kept anything down today, had a craving for cheese just now and ate a couple of slices which are still there for the moment.

Hi everyone, my baby is due on the 24th of May, 2007. This is my first pregnancy, and it's really scary. My morning sickness started last week. It's not too bad. I feel horribly horribly nauseas in the mornings, and it lasts about an hour, then it comes and goes during the day. It feels like I'm either really nauseas or really hungry, and there is nothing in between. I've been living on toast and flat ginger ale.
I haven't had a blood test yet, nor have I found a midwife. I'm doing this temping job at the moment which is supposed to finish on friday. I want to get everything done next week, because at the moment I just don't have any time to do anything.
Hope everyone is doing well. :D

Welcome eomachine. Glad to see another May baby on the way! It sounds as though we are all suffering from m/s in some form or another! My manager is back next week so I'm not sure how I'll cope, considering all I've done this week is 'hide' in my office!
Well, I though that I would start a list of all the May babies we have so far! I will update it if anyone else joins us.
mum2three - 4 May
giselja - 16 May
Cat - middle of May
eomachine - 24 May
Georgie - 25 May
Bayley - 29 May
So are you going to find out the sex of your baby, or wait for it to be a surprise? Any predictions so far? I think we're having a boy - DH thinks it's a girl!
Stay well everyone.

Hi! Its been a week, but visited the site again!
I had a scan on Friday last week as I had some spotting, a brownish colour - freaked a bit so doc arranged a scan for me the saem day! It was good, saw the baby's hear flutter so its real now! The woman who did the scan was useless, she didnt even tell me anything, I had to ask if the baby was alive! Anywa, turns out that I am further along than expect!
Have decided after that experience to choose a specialist rather than a midwife, as I have had too many probs in the past with endometriosis. Its costly, but I feel a bit pressured into it from my fiancee and his mother. I am more inclined to spend the money on baby furniture and needs as this is our first baby and I dont really think I will have too many problems. I am wrong in thinking this way? Its just hard cause I have heard so many things in a negative way about midwives.

I had a specialist for both of my children and that was mainly because my DH is in the medical profession. Yes they cost money but the piece of mind was worth it. They also have there own scan machines so everytime you go and visit them you get to see your baby (very reassuring). Another popular option is shared care with a specialist and midwife...you have turn about visiting each one but if you have any problems you have your specialist as a back up. Having said that is you and your partners baby and up to the both of you to decide what is best...not your future mother in law. From now you are going to get so many opinions on so many things so you might as well get use to it...just make your own informed decision on things

Hi everyone
Just thought I would pop in before the end of the week. It has been an eventful couple of days for me. The night before last woke with excruciating cramps - shortlived but very scarey. I rang the midwife in the morning, who sent me for an u/s to rule out ectopic pregnancy. The good news was that all was well with baby (heartbeat 120bpm, 8.5mm long!) and we even got our first 'photos'! The not so great news was that they discovered I have an ovarian cyst on my left ovary, so I have been an emotional wreck, completely thinking the worst, as they said they couldn't do anything about it until after pregnancy. I have been reading some stuff on the internet today (getting absolutely no work done!), and am feeling a little better about it. I have now been referred to an OB, and will see her in a couple of weeks time. Hopefully that will reassure me some more!
Well, I hope everyone has great weekends and that all is going well for you all!

Just poking my nose in...
Georgie - Yay for getting to see bubs! I had a Corpeous Luteal Cyst (apparantly specific to pregnancy) on one ovary at the start of this pregnancy but it has sorted itself now.
Giselja - We are doing shared care with a midwife and an OB because of having twins. First time round I just had a m/w and she was great. I have the same m/w this time, and so had no choice in which OB I had - I had to have the one she works with. I'm not loving him, but he's ok.
Some medical insurance covers limited OB treatment - Southern Cross have paid the $2000 that mine is costing. If you go with a m/w I recommend an independent one as the hospital ones work in bigger teams and there is less continuity of care.

Hi to all of you. I am due on the 7th may with my first baby. Not my first pregnancy as the last 2 ended in miscarriage fairly early on (around 6-8 weeks). It has been really interesting reading all of your messages. I had surgery for Endometriosis about 2 years ago, but no complications since. Hubby and I have been trying for what feels like forever to have a baby and we are very excited that this time might actually be the one. Trying not to feel too relaxed though as we still have a week to go until we can really breath a big sigh of relief. It is so strange to see so many similar experiences from you all, when you are going through it you feel like it is just you!
I started having spotting in my 6th week, but after having a dating scan a few days later found that where ever it was coming from it was nothing to do with the baby. They also found a cyst on my ovary, but bound to be pregnancy related. We saw our little bean with heartbeat fluttering madly. That did wonders for us both! Anyway the spotting stopped after about 10 days and hasn't come back since.
Have had terrible m/s. Have tried everything, but nothing has worked and I am just hoping now that it will be gone soon! I am getting pretty sick and tired of having to take a bowl in the car on the way to work!
And I know my husband would like to be able to have red meat in the house again in the near future :)
Anyway, even with the sore boobs and the m/s I still have moments where I wonder if it is all real. I don't think i will truly relax until I see the next scan which is scheduled for end of this month.

Sorry just popping in,
giselja - I have stage 3 endo and PCOS and we conceived on clomid, when i found a midwife i filled her in on everything incl all the surgeries i had and the drugs we took to get pregnant and she was awesome, at about 25 weeks i was sent to the emergency department due to unexplained pain and was later told it was adhesions and needed drugs for them, my midwife was awesome and sent me to a specialist who was also helpful, so a midwife can also look after you really well provided you find the right one. If u really are comfortable with having a midwife i highly recommend it, i just couldnt justify having to spend mega dosh to go through a specialist unless i was expecting twins esp since southern cross wouldnt cover it unless i had been with them for 3 or more years! As you can see we had a really good midwife and now have our little girl who is 3 months on thursday. Maybe its something you need to sit down and talk with your fiancee about because at the end of the day u want to enjoy your pregnancy and not argue over money and stuff like that

I'm seeing my midwife today for the first time officially. She's a hospital one not an independant one. What I'm slightly worried about is that she won't want to take me on as I'm going to be moving from Nelson to New Plymouth about six weeks before I give birth, I've heard that midwives get a bit funny about this sort of thing as some don't get paid if you don't give birth under their care. Is this right - should I keep my move a secret from her or does the fact she's a hospital one mean she is just on salary? Should I book myself a midwife in New Plymouth too now or wait until I get there in April?

Hi again everyone.
Welcome Sterryn! Great to see another 'Due in May'. Sorry to hear about your previous m/c's, but it sounds as though everything is going well this time! And you are nearly through your first trimestre now, so even better!
Well, I have had a quiet week or so - really just trying to cope with constant nausea and complete exhaustion! I haven't actually thrown up yet, but have had my head in the toilet bowl on a few occassions! My latest 'get me through the day' is Mizone - a progression from my soda water! I am really counting on my m/s stopping at 12 weeks - and not a day more! I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't! I keep telling myself that it's for a good 'reason', although I'm joking to DH that this will be the only one at this rate!
Anyway, the updated list of May babies is:
mum2three - 4 May
Sterryn - 7 May
giselja - 16 May
Cat - middle of May
eomachine - 24 May
Georgie - 24 May
Bayley - 29 May
Looking forward to catching up with everyone and how you're going!

Well, that was an interesting visit to the midwife. She was absolutely fine with the whole move thing and will help me find a midwife in New Plymouth when it comes to it. She answered all my questions and I feel so much happier about things.
One little (maybe) revelation is that she thinks that I am actually 12 weeks not 9 as I thought (I had a very light period in August which she thinks was not actually one). She had a listen and could hear, very clearly, the foetal heart beat which she shouldn't be able to hear until at least 11 weeks, so I am off for a scan on Thursday to find out what's going on.

Hi Cat
I'm glad to hear that your visit to the midwife went well! That really must ease your mind!
I hope that all goes well for your scan on Thursday! How exciting, you'll get to see your little baby! You'll have to let us know what your due date is!
I am so hanging out for 12 weeks, so that we are through the first trimester and chances of a m/c have dropped. We will also be able to tell more people then, and hopefully (fingers crossed!) the m/s will have stopped by then!
Let us know how you get on!

I've just had my scan and as first thought I'm 9 weeks 5 days so due on the 19th May 07. No one told me how uncomfortable the scan would be, having to have a full bladder and then someone press down on it!!!! It was great though, saw the heartbeat and it was moving like crazy. It did look a little bit like a hamster though....

Hi all!!!!
My name is Michelle and as of today I am 8 weeks 5 days pregnant yeah!!!!
Its been a bit of a roller coaster for us...we have one amazing 5 year old girl (Jenna) and we have been trying to conceive our second child for around 4 years. I have had 2 M/C at 4 and 6 weeks. I had a positive preg test last Wednesday and today I had a scan to make sure everything was were it should be....its was and I even got to see a tiny heart beat...we are very excited.

Welcome Shellc! You must be really excited! I so hope everything stays fine for you this time!
So is anyone else still/suffering from m/s?? I just have this constant nausea that doesn't want to go away and that seems to have gotten worse over the weekend! It is making work so hard! I'm actually getting tempted to go and buy some of those 'sea' bands!
It is so exciting getting to see a scan! I had an appointment with an OB last Thursday, so actually got to see my second scan. She could even see the baby moving! That really got me! It was just a little portable scan though so I couldn't see much apart from the baby 'blob'! I can't wait until the 12 week scan now. I am going to ring and make my appointment today. By the way Cat, I am really not going to worry too much about overfilling my bladder for my next scan! Last Thursday the OB had no problem at all finding baby, and my bladder was just 'normal'. I hadn't know I was having a scan, so hadn't drunk any 'extra' water at all - just my usual. I was kind of needing to go while I was there, but definately wasn't close to 'bursting', and it made the scan so much more comfortable - and I could actually concentrate on what she was saying!
I think it is going to be another long week at work!
Catch you later.

Georgie, don't go and buy any seabands - I've got a pair you can have, they didn't work for me, PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post to you. My sickness is still bad, I've got burst blood vessels in my eyes from throwing up!! I'm having acupuncture which may be making it a bit better but not much. Hopefully only another week and a half of it to go....

Hey,
its been another few weeks since I last visited.
Things are good, have now got a specialist called Dr Sharma who will be caring for me throughout the pregnancy - very nice guy, worth every cent. What is also great is that he has 3D scanning machines in his rooms which is great!
He was also the only one who told me that due to having 4 operations for Endometriosis and having severe scarring in my cervix, its likley that I will not be able to have 100% clear scans. I had one last week and compared the photos to my friends pics she had at the same time and there is a big difference and we were scanned by the same guy - mm, very interesting.
Does anyone know when the earliest we can find out what we are having? We are having a scan at 14 weeks, and was wondering if we would see something?
Hope all you ladies are well and coping for M/S. Mine is still here, still hate all kinds of meat!

I found out at 17 weeks with the twins, and that is pretty much the earliest they will tell you. They might see something sooner but at my 15 week scan the lady told me they won't ever tell you just in case as it's pretty unreliable so early on.

Giselja and Cat - I just noticed that you are one day apart on your tickers!
Giselja, glad to see you back again, and it sounds as though you have a fantastic doctor. I am really hoping that my midwife is really good, as I know that it would be impossible to find another one by the time that I visit her next!
Cat, thanks for the offer - I have PMed you.
Well, I booked my 12-week scan yesterday - all booked in on 9 November - just over two weeks to wait. After that we are going to start telling more people. So far we have only told our parents, although we are pretty sure that DH's mum hasn't been able to keep a secret!
Hope everyone is doing OK, m/s aside!

Hi i'm new! I'm 24 and this is my first one - I have a question for you may mummies... I just met with my midwife and she is really nice, but she told me she won't give me any drugs during labour because she doesn't think it's in my/my baby's best interests.... is this normal?
Also i am considering a waterbirth in hospital has anyone done this or planning this?..... Thoughts please?
Thanks

Welcome!
I dont think that is right, thats the reason why I opted for a private specialist, as I have heard many horror stories about midwives and what they beleive. Its completely your choice to have drugs, its your body, but most of all, this is your pregnancy. You should tell her this, and if she doesnt support it, tell her you will go elsewhere. I have heard that its normal for most midwives to strongly express and implement what they beleive is right. Its not her choice, its yours.
This is my first baby, and the first midwive I saw, she told me the same thing - I then told her I didnt want her services.
This is just my opinion as a first time Mum.
ALSO - for you other May 2007 mummies - if you have SKY television, tune in to Maternity Ward on the Discovery Channel!! Its absolulty amazing! They show true life births, ranging from a 16year old to a 35 year old having twins! Very graphic and it doesnt hold back!! I find I am glued t omy seat when this is on!
Hope everyone is well!!

Thanks Ange, it's good to get some feedback - I haven't decided one way or the other yet... hopefully I will come to some conclusions soon!
I don't want to have drugs but i want all avenues open to me if I need them.

My name is Renee and my hubby and I are expecting our first baby on 11 May 2007. I have a nuchal fold scan next week so will have exact dates confirmed then as I think I may be due around 17 May 2007. We are really excited! Hope everyone's pregnancies are going well.
Have found a great midwife who doesn't mind if I need to use drugs during labour. By the way I am another fan of Maternity Ward on Sky!

Superjenten - I would advise that you change midwives if at all possible! I am a first time mum-to-be too, and my midwife has told me that she will support me in any decisions regarding pain relief - she even told me that I shouldn't feel like I have 'failed' if I do ask for pain relief. My midwife has advised she will deliver at any hospital here in Christchurch and that the only type of birth she doesn't do presently is home birth - she will also do water birth, although I haven't really considered that at this point yet.
Therefore, I think that if you can find a midwife you are happy with (mine suggested 'interviewing' a number before we made our decision, although I didn't because I was happy with what she said), you should be fine - but definately look into changing! I have had a one-off visit with an OB because of an earlier problem, but since I have no real complicating issues/only one baby etc, I don't really want to have to pay for care so am just sticking with a midwife. There are some good ones out there, but look soon as they book up quick!
I hope that helps.
Welcome Renee! It's so exciting isn't it! My nuchal fold scan is the week after yours. How is your pregnancy going so far?
Giselja, another fan of Maternity Ward here! DH would never let me watch it, so when he was away a couple of weeks ago I tuned in and now I'm hooked! I just have to tape it each week! My problem is that I'm always crying all the way through it every time a baby is born! I'm blaming the pregnancy hormones!!
I'll update the list since we have a new member! Superjenten - if you're due in May, let me know what date and I'll add you too!
mum2three - 4 May

Renee - 11/17(?)May
giselja - 16 May

Hi guys
Bit of an update, I spent last night and all day today in hospital with hyperemesis. The sickness got so bad and I hadn't kept anything down for over 48 hours that they got me on IV fluids and some anti nausea drugs. Not fun at all but I do feel lots better now.
This little bundle of joy better be the best behaved baby ever after all it's put me through!!

Hi Cat - sorry to hear about that. I hope that you're feeling better now - you poor thing! Now that you're 12 weeks, hopefully things may settle! I don't want to speak too soon, but I think my nausea is definately dying down a little - late afternoon can still be a nightmare through til what I can force myself to eat for dinner - but nothing like what you've been through!
Renee, would love to see your photo - definately post it!
Well, three days til my scan - can't wait! Then I'll finally be 12 weeks too!
Have a great week everyone. Will pop in again later to see how everyone is getting on.

Yep, feeling better, got lots of anti nausea drugs to keep me from feeling sick. Though I do start to feel bad again when they are wearing off. I'm in work today and had the first morning for about 7 weeks that I hadn't felt sick. I told everyone at work too which is a big weight off my mind, it's so much easier now that they know - I do feel like a stuck record, with all the repeating of information though!

Hi everyone, my morning sickness is very very slowly starting to get better. For the past four days I haven't felt as sick, and I haven't vomited. Except this morning I did. :(
I went to see my doctor yesterday and got my blood test results. Everything was good. The nurse told me last time that I would have a scan at about 12 weeks, but the doctor told me not to. She said to have a scan now only if I'm over 38 and have a history of down syndrome in the family.
I still haven't found a midwife. But I'm working on it. :D
I'm 11 weeks and four days pregnant now

Hi - just checking in to see how everyone is going!
Cat and Eomachine, glad to hear the m/s is not quite so bad. I definately spoke to soon earlier in the week - the constant nausea is back! Typical!
I had to tell my managers last week that I was PG due to restructuring next year's budget - really long story but I was left with no choice! But so far, haven't told anyone else.
I have my 12-week scan today, so DH and I are both really looking forward to that. We'll probably start telling a few more people now.
Eomachine, hope you find a good midwife soon!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Well, the scan went really well. All the results were good, and it was amazing to see baby moving around so much! There were arms and legs going everywhere! DH was really amazed by the whole thing too!

I've been trying to catch up on 8 weeks of my life! The sickness really put things on hold, I hardly did anything at home, the place was a state and I had mountains of washing to catch up on. Everyone at work seems very relieved that I'm only pregnant...it seems people had thought something serious was up as I was so quiet and looked so pale all the time. I'm still having to take the anti nausea tablets but I'm back to myself again.
I had a scan yesterday, 2 arms, 2 legs, one head and everything in the right place. Hubby didn't come, we don't get all gooey about these things - much to many people's amazement!!

13 weeks and I'm still sick!
Last week I was feeling so great, I thought the m/s was getting better, but everyday so far this week I've felt rotten, and especially this morning when I threw up three gingernuts. One of the worst experiences of my life thus far!
Have an appointment with my midwife on friday this week. I am wondering whether I should have had a scan. I was going to but the doctor told me it was not necessary at all, then I see everyone on here is having scans.
Decided if it's a boy, I'm going to name him Lee, because my dads name is Lee and my mum and my brothers middle names are both Lee.
I hope all the may mummies start to feel better soon! Seven weeks of sickness certainly gets tiring.

Hi Eomachine
Hope that you are feeling better this week! I am having the odd 'good' day and the odd 'bad' day at the moment, with most in between the two if that makes sense! I definately find that if I'm feeling tired, my m/s is worse! I have an all-day meeting in Wellington tomorrow, and Fridays aren't generally a 'good' day anyway! Noone at the meeting will know I'm p/g, so I'm not sure how I'm going to get around the catered lunch thing yet! Well done on getting a name sorted! We're not quite that good yet! I'm so scared it will be the week before the birth and we still won't have decided!!
Hope to hear from everyone else soon!

Wow, it's been ages since I posted in here. Glad to hear that you're at least having some good days instead of all bad Georgie K. After my midwives appointment last friday I literally lost pretty much all my morning sickness that afternoon. I've been feeling really great since then, have SO much energy I hardly know what to do with it all. The only thing is I feel EXTRA EXTRA sick as soon as I wake up, and I have to eat straight away, then within about 10 minutes I'm fine for the rest of the day, it's quite bizarre.
Hope you have more and more good m/s free days soon Georgie! I've been hanging out in the June thread this week, there are heaps more due in there, and who knows, might end up being a June mummy myself.

Hi to all of you. It seems like forever since I was last on. I have just had my m/s disappear in the last week and I feel like a completely different person without having to spend hours of everyday with my head down a toilet.
Has anybody else out there had different dates given at each scan? So far we have had two scans and two different dates! It is so frustrating! I have just booked my next scan which will be on the 12th December. I can't wait, because if possible we really want to know what the baby is :) Anyway, my midwife has asked for another opinion of the EDD, and we figure we will go best 2 out of 3!
I am also hanging out for more movement. I felt 2 little kicks (I think it was a get off me mom!)last weekend, but since then have only had a couple of little flutters. It took me ages to realise it was actually my little bun doing somersaults. I thought I was going crazy at first :)
I hope the rest of you start feeling better soon too :)

I was almost m/s free for a whole week! Then on friday I coughed at the wrong time which made me gag. :( Then that was me gone for the rest of the day. And since then I've been feeling rather rotten. I'm pretty sure I'm through the worst of it though, just can't wait until it settles for good. I don't know if anyone else feels like this but after being sick for weeks on end you sort of resign yourself to the fact that you feel sick and you don't feel quite so bad, but after feeling great for a while, then feeling sick again, it's WORSE. :(
Ahh well. Got me some of those highland crispy noodles to crunch on today.

Hi. Just popping in quickly. I am so incredibly busy at work at the moment, hence not getting on to post much. M/s still comes and goes - still late afternoon is the worst time of day. I was really sick over the weekend with what I'm sure was not pg related, but that bought the m/s back to full force for a few days. It's settling back down again now a bit.
I have my first 'official' appointment with my midwife today, so I'm looking forward to that. Plus it means I have to leave work early!
Is anyone showing yet? By the end of the day I am so bloated that my tummy sticks out miles, but I'm sure it's getting a 'rounder' look to it now anyway.
OK, off to do some work. Hope to hear from everyone again soon. We are definately a small quiet group!

Yep, I'm still here! The anti nausea drugs are working wonderfully, every so often I wait a while in the morning to see if I still need them and then regret the decision cos I then struggle to keep them down.
The next box ticked off the list is sciatica, which I am getting really badly already, I'm playing loads of tennis and it gets really sore.
I also fainted the other day, I rang my midwife in a bit of a panic afterwards and she said "oh, it's quite normal, just have a cup of sweet tean and a biscuit"! I then though about it and I suppose in the "olden days" if a woman fainted most people took it as a sign she was pregnant!
I haven't got much of a bump yet but like you GeorgieK my tummy is a bit rounder. And later on in the day, if I've drunk loads of water or just eaten it sticks out a bit.

Feeling really good at the moment - haven't felt any movement yet so hanging out for that although the midwife said its normal not to feel anything till around 18-20 weeks.
I am starting to get a little bit of a bump but for people who don't already know I am pregnant it looks more like I just have a fat tummy!

All the 'good' ones are booked up already, but I found out today that they still have space at the main women's hospital. I have heard that they are not that great there, but I suppose that something is better than nothing!
So, out of the last list:
mum2three - 4 May
Sterryn - 7 May
Renee - 11/17(?)May
giselja - 16 May
Cat - 19 May
eomachine - 24 May
Georgie - 24 May
Bayley - 29 May
Shellc - late May (?)
we still have:
mum2three - 4 May
Renee - 11/17(?)May
Cat - 19 May
eomachine - 24 May
Georgie - 24 May
So has anyone's date changed from when we started the list? Anyone else still hanging around?
So where is everyone located?

I'm in Thames at the moment, but moving to Christchurch in February or March at the latest
Don't want to leave it too late though. I really don't want to give birth on the ferry crossing.

I'm in Nelson but moving to New Plymouth at the end of March.
I've got a tiny bit of a bump showing permanently now - I've got a friend's wedding this weekend and will be at the really annoying stage of just looking like I've got a pot belly - aarrggghhh!!

Just lost my entire post again!
Well, I'm in Christchurch - forgot to add that yesterday! Eomachine, are you still due on the 24th? Have you got organised what you are doing re midwives etc when you shift? Cat, I remember reading somewhere that you were all sorted now.
Cat, yes, I also have a permanent belly! Well, I always kind of had one, but this one is definately taking shape now! And yes, it just looks like I've been putting on weight! In fact, I haven't put on any weight yet (kgs), but my tummy is a lot bigger!
OK, time to get onto some work. I am so busy at the moment and will be right up to Christmas unfortunately. It makes the days go quick, but I think I would have preferred it a little less stressed!
Have a great day everyone.

I've talked to my midwife in Thames and she said when it's closer to the time of moving, she'll help refer me to a midwife in Christchurch, so hopefully it won't be too bad switching half way through. I kinda just keep to myself really, only met her once and haven't called her since then, so I haven't really gotten to know her or gotten attached to her. Still due on the 24th! Although my ticker says the same date yours does.

I am in Wellington. My due date is now 11 May. I booked my antenatal classes quite early on as the good classes get booked up quickly here. Mine don't start until mid March. I am all starting a pregnancy yoga class in January. Looking forward to meeting other pregnant mums to be!

My ticker must be set to the 25th too, except I have the exact same ticker on my pregnancy blog and it says 15 weeks 5 days.
Just go into profile which is up there on the left under the ohbaby banner and you should be able to go down and change your signature there.
I don't really want my baby to be overdue, cause I'm impatient, but it would be funny if it came on my birthday, which is the 28th.

I think it's actually something to do with American time-zones, because I know my ticker definately says 24th! Will go and fix my signature now!
Oh, just a though, as you've probably read, ante-natal classes seem to book up quickly in Christchurch, so if you're planning on doing them once here, you might want to book now.
