| Hi, another obscure question from me- DH is being sent to Papua New Guinea shortly for work & his work is the "couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery" type sometimes. Anyone been there recently? He's going to Lihir Island group via Port Moresby. He's got a list of vaccinations etc. We're struggling to find info on ph networks (if any) internet coverage etc. What anti-malarials are best these days? Any info appreciated, thanks, =) |

check out http://www.safetravel.govt.nz/destinations/png.shtml - safe travel - they have up-to-date health and safety advisories. Plus, as it's run by the government you can register to say when you're going to be where so if things turn to custard the embassy knows to come looking for you (theoretically!).

Yay, yes please. We'd like to know was it difficult sorting the work visa, & did it take long? How's the cell ph / internet coverage (obviously it'll vary location wise though), what vaccinations did he have, & what antimalarial is he using? Thank you, that'd be a huge help, DH will be working there for around 6 weeks & it's been quite hard to find work info rather than tourist stuff.
