**I thought I had already posted this question, but I can't for the life of me find it so I guess I didn't! Damn nappy brain! LOL**
Anyways....
Have any of you taken your bubs to baby yoga?
I really want to start doing some proper exercise again (now that my CS incision has healed) and would like to take Caitlin too.
Can anyone recommend any in Auckland? (West Auckland preferably, I know of one on the Shore, but that's a bit of a trek (except for playdates with Erin & Jax ))

I went to mums and babies yoga when Alex was 3 months old. It was great (esp meeting other mums and bubs). It was yoga for mum, which is nice and gentle, I guess beginner yoga. It was baby friendly, as you could stop and feed or change baby whenever you wanted, and no one cared about crying babies (usually one would start and they would all join in!!) They showed us ways of joining baby in with the yoga moves. So you could hold baby as you lay on your back with your legs in the air!! Im not sure if this is the same everywhere, but I guess it would be similar. I really enjoyed it. I stoped because Alex started moving around and they didnt have facilities for older babies, and had a big stair case I was worried he would fall down! But I really reccomend it!!

I have recently started a pregnancy yoga class, and they welcome back mums once bubs in 6 weeks old, so your body has time to heal. Sounds like it will be very baby friendly too, but so far there are only preggy belly's in class and no bubs! During pregnancy its about relaxing, and ways to help to sleep etc, and about strengthening thighs to hold the extra weight to put less strain on your back. Once bubs is 6 weeks, our teacher said she would move to more pilates type excercises to help re-tone our tummies etc. She is great and has been targeting each excercise to what each person is at in their pregnancy, and more specifically looking at any problems people have been having, like sciatica, insomnia etc.
Hope u can find a class! If there is one in Whakatane, there will definatley be one in West Auck
