Ok, so this may be TMI, but has anyone else had problems with incontinence during pregnancy? I didn't at all when I was preg with Maya, but this time I am having to use those lovely incontinence pads and still leaking like a sieve. I can literally feel it. It freaks me out a bit sometimes worrying if it is my waters. But I don't think it is?

smell it - if it is your waters you will know the difference! Theres not much you can do about it at the moment, esp as one of the bubs is engaged and ready to go. But once they are here you can start doing your pelvic floor exercises - I wrote a big speil about them last night in general chat somewhere!!) you prob just need to give it a few weeks for you start tho. And if you find it is still a prob a few months down the track you can get these ball thingys you stick up there and walk around keeping them in!! Good luck

Thanks Aimee Funny thing is I see a physio for my dodgy bladder when I'm not preg (I have interstitial cystitis) and she said half my problem is that my pelvic floor muscles are too tight? I guess they're not anymore...

looks like you've just fixed the problem of them being too tight!  Aw, man - what a hassle though.  Just the other night I had the same thing - woke up really needing the loo and out came a little leak on the way - I was NOT impressed!  It does get you freaking that it's the waters though, eh!  I guess with twins, your bladder would be under twice the strain?  Well, my thoughts are with you - not just for the hassles of it all but having to shell out for those blimmin pads too!

Hey Aimee, are pelvic floor exercises not good to do once bubs is engaged?  This one's 4/5th of the way down - should I still be doing them?  (Not that I do them as regularly as I'd planned!).

I haven't even told Willie coz I'd never hear the end of it...

Andie I don't know if twins make a difference, I think it's more now that one is engaged there's more pressure. Not sure tho. Could be why you're having the same problem if your lil one is engaged as well.

Hi
I thought I had the same problem but it was actually my waters. I was really embarrassed at the time - then when I found out it was a slow leak from my waters I was even more embarrassed that I hadn't told anyone. It went on for about 6 days before he was born. I told the midwife (when I was in labour) and said it was only a day or two - but it was more like a week, Im still not sure what if any harm it may have done. I think it was because Cameron was trying to engage but couldn't - because his head was too big so he was bouncing around a bit.

I still didn't catch on when I was in labour and it was coming out a little bit with each contraction. Looking back I cant believe I didn't put two and two together duh!!!!

I'm having a scan tomorrow and they will check the fluid around the babies, so hopefully of it is my waters they will pick it up then.
