Hi ladies!
Hope I havn't doubled up on topics. Which disposables do you use? Pro's and con's? Best price/where from?
We use the cloth Real Nappies at home which are GREAT! And huggies at night and out and about, awesome nightime nappy, just getting quite costly!!
Also has anyone tried Pampers??

Looking forward to getting some feedback!
Oh and the best value i've had for Huggies is at New World on special, 44 pack of Crawlers for $17.99. Works out about 40c a nappy.

I use huggies. I've tried treasures, pams, budget & babylove but none were as good for my boy.
I got a box of like 81 is it? for $35 at the warehouse about 3 weeks ago. They last ages coz I only use them at night.

use cloth during the day and the treasures nappy pants at nighttime. Changing his nappy is a mission in the evenings (involves me chasing him all over his room) and the nappy pants are HEAPS easier to get on. Never had a leak. They are on special this week $9.99 at foodtown (plus I imagine countdown).

I used huggies until switching to cloth part time at 8 months. I found they were the best and didnt leak or cause nappy rash. But they are the most expensive. I still use huggies for night time.

When i do use disposables during the day i just buy budget. The work well for DD, ive also used these overnight on occasion but that was closer to 2 years old. I dont know how they would handle a younger child overnight. They are only $5.50 a pack of 20ish nappies. So one of the cheaper ones.

Treasures & pams have never worked for us. They leak. And i have tried home brand once and they stunk. We didnt even use a full packet because you could always smell urine and not because i left dd in it for ages, when she would go it would stink the house out. Really nasty unlike other nappies which ive never had that problem

Homebrand here, 50 for $21 they last all night - have tried Huggies and Treasures - both leaked on her. Have tried Pams but have found they don't hold as much as Homebrand. Tried Budget - were ok but hate the tabs - like tape. Tried the Bbaylove ones for the poopouch - no go with the 'poo pouch' or 'poo pouch' my foot. I think that's all of them... oh Woolworths Select they were great like Homebrand! But they only go to umm 6 or 8kg!

Have found Homebrand at Cdown and Woolworths. Huggies/Treasures - most supermarkets New World, Woolies, Cdown, Pak n Save... Umm Pam and Budget seems to be New World and Pak n Save... Baby love is most supermarkets again...

I haven't noticed this, I did with Budget though! But I have noticed that if she's in it overnight and done a very full nappy sometimes she gets 'crystals' on her bum like jelly crystals - know disposables have crystals in them to absorb the pee but these are the only nappies I've found that do this...

I use huggies at night, cloth during the day. I've tried treasures and home brand but found neither great. Treasures nappy pants I had the worst poo leaks out of so only ever used that one free pack.

My Dad went and got me heaps of woolworths select infant nappies for the new baby so shall see how they go. If it's a big failure they shall go on TM.

we are fully disposable for my 6mo DS and treasures have always worked well for us - no problems with nappy rash or leakage. Bucking the trend, I'm not keen on treasures - I find they smell wet after even the tiniest pee, and when I go in to the nursery to get DS up from a nap all I can smell is dirty nappy.

I only use Huggies - only ones I've found that hold everything. Have never had to do as much washing as I did when I tried Treasures. I also don't mind Pams, but only for daytime. Home Brand and Budget couldn't contain everything either.

We do Homebrand here too (disposables overnight only). They do smell like wee quite quickly sometimes, but I think I have noticed that with other brands too (can't for the life of me remember which!). They hardly ever leak though!

I have found Huggies to be completely useless for us, such a waste of money. They leaked the most out of any of the nappy brands we've tried (which is just about all of them).

We mostly use cloth use huggies for overnight and going out.

But my mum just gave me a packet of pams and if they are significantly cheaper than huggies I think that they would be fine for the daytime use.

I did try and like the woolworths select for day but they are too small now, babylove seemed too thin and treasures are average.

We use huggies but now im starting to use treasures during the day and huggies for naps/overnight. I find huggies last the longest, hold the most and havent leaked or given K rashes BUT they are so expensive.
Have been thinking about trying pams/homebrand/budget to see what they're like

I've just started using the red label ones at the warehouse for overnight.

The little girl I look after uses Huggies but I reckon Pams are just as good.

Recommend you try others! Never know until you try!

It's quite funny - we talked about this in my coffee group and a lot of the mums said they only used huggies because it was a. more expensive so surely the 'best' and b. because that was really the one brand that they saw everywhere in advertising etc.

Dryups work real nice. But just the German brand. Dont like the USA make and wont get it if they are out of German brand. They fit nicely with Andrew as he is so thin and all other nappies seem to not fit his body type.

And then there is another one that I cant remember from another online shop I get if dryups is not available.

We use Pams during the day - stock up when they are on sale at $3.99 and when you're buying for twins cost matters. Use Treasures at night. I stock up big time when they are on sale, almost embarrassing when you see my trolley sky high with nappies. Still, they don't expire!

Have tried the budget nappies but they got nappy rash with them (only ones that has happened with) and the Signature Select were good but I tend to shop at New World or Pak n Save so there equivalent is Pams

Huggies are the best by far. I've tried most other supermarket brands but the cheaper ones tend to need changing more often (therefore using more of them - so not that great a saving) or leak or smell.

I buy Huggies when they're on special, which is most weeks at Countdown atm.

We use to use treasures as DD leaked out of huggies at night time when she was little but now fits huggies better than treasures!

We also used Pams for a few months mixed with treasures and found DD was getting a persisent nappy rash that didnt go away until I started using huggies consistently and we haven't had it back since.

We are in disposibles full time unless its just before bath time and i chuck her in a cloth nappy.

I use treasures with DD and huggies with DS2, huggies seem to give DD a rash, where Treasures doesnt, but the treasures NB nappies leak instantly with DS2, and huggies can be fastened anywhere, allowing it to be adjusted for smaller babies. I bought a box of 108 for $28 thanks to a $5 off voucher AND being on special just before having baby (plus had a LOT of samples from P&C show from the last 2 years lol) and havent even used half the box yet, and a pack of 20 nappies in DDs size will just about last a week, I tend to buy 2 or 3 packs when they are $10 or under and that usually gets us through til they are on special again

I think it totally depends on your child's shape and other factors. I use whatever is on special at the supermarket and have used Huggies, Treasures, Pams, Babylove, Pams Ultra, Treasures Nappy Pants and Signature Range on my DS and have never had any major leakage issues, smells or nappy rash with any of them. DD has only tried Signature Range and Huggies so far but the same for her, no problems with either.

Agree and I think that's why it's good to trial a few, esp if you can save a few dollars!

Ditto Queenbean.

Of all the spozie's I've used Huggies, treasure, babylove, select, pams, budget, those eco friendly ones from paknsave.....I've only ever had a leak from babylove and it was a DD baby poo that came straight up the back, and the occation, baby poo leak out of th side of a NB treasures.

My kids both wee alot they don't have cubby thighs but are not skinny either.

I have DS in spozie's overnight beacuse he needed to be kept as dry s possible...and I've only tried huggies and treasure for thi. I'll use anything during the day if it was a spozie choice. Otherwise its full time cloth.

I used treasures at night when DD goes up to the next size nappy as they're a narrower fit as she gets bigger we switch to huggies.
During the day we use babylove, used select they were great 48 for $5.99 but they only do infant sized.
Trying Pams next and will give home brand a go as well. For daytime use I want a cheap nappy as she's being changed every few hours.
She's only leaked if I haven't got the leg guards fitted properly.

Why does Select only do infant size? They show the other sizes on the packet. I loved those, really nice and SO cheap!

We're using Red Brand from The Warehouse during the day - 27c each, then something more premium at night, currently Babylove which keep freaking leaking! Prefer Treasures.

we use a mix of mcn, tresures and huggies during the day and huggies at night. prefer huggies over tresures but depends when we run low whats on sale refuse to pay full price.
I guess what follows on .. what wipes do you use??
We use johnstons or huggies! someone suggest the cheapy pink, blue and greeen from pak n save but i don't know how babies bum will like them ?

Wipes... I use the cheaper ones, but not the absolute cheapest. Can't remember which brand it was but they were cheap, seemed overly dry and scratchy and gave her a red bum. I HATE the Huggies ones, they are too dry and they rip and make me angry. The Johnsons ones are nice but far too pricey so I only get those if they're hugely discounted.

I mainly just get Select brand (always get unscented everything), and we've had no problems. Little Genie seem to be on sale often so I get those too when they're cheap. The orange Pams ones were fine too.

If she meant the Silk ones, they are great! My favorite wipes by far. I always get the green ones because I prefer fragrance free.

If you live in Christchurch, the Toujours-nappies from the GoNappies online shop are very good. And in Chch it's free delivery. They are not as bulky as many other nappies, but I find them the most absorbent. And they are cheap.
Treasures Nappiepants are good when they start toilet training, or if it's a real fight to get their nappy on (cause you don't need to lie them down). They don't hold as much as a regular nappy, but way more than a Huggies pull up

We use MCN most of the time even at night but for moments like tonight when I haven't done enough washing I use whatever disposable is on special, don't like huggies though because they give DD a red bum, as do the wipes so try and steer clear of them. ATM we have the pams ones, DD can be in a nappy for up to 14hrs at night (depends on what time she gets changed before bed and how long she sleeps) and she has never leaked out of any of the cheaper ones. Has anyone tried the ones from the babyfactory?

We fly out to Aus next wed so might go get a pack from nappy direct down the road, I hate that I'm going to have to use disposables, would so much rather use cloth!

The only sposies that work on DS (as in don't leak everywhere - #1s and #2s/3s) are huggies. I've tried every other sort and the result is the same - disaster!!! He's in cloth during the day and huggies at night, and when away from home.

We have used Treasures since DD was out of newborn nappies (we were in hopsp for most of the time DD fit newborn so just used theirs). I buy them in bulk and they are only $64.00 for 8 packets. Its great never having to rush off to the supermarket as I always have supplies. We get the odd leak but thats very rare. I think we have tried all brands and have no complaints with any except the ones with the plastic tabs.

I'm using Little Genie Bamboo wipes atm, they're aloe vera and tea tree and they are lovely they smell lovely and are gentle on her bottom.

I was using cotton wool and water for her wet bum, and chux cloths for a dirty bum.
I save huggies newborn for the nappy bag.
Didn't like pigeon wipes they smell very chemically

Ughh I HATE (with a passion) the huggies wipes; they get stuck in the box, rip...

We mainly use Silk - they're about $3.50 normally - I only use the fragrance free as hate the scented ones.

I will use any wipes really but Huggies, and only fragrance free.

Have used Pams(orange packet) and they're fine, no problems, similar to silk.

I get Precious (I think that's what they're called) in the brown packet - the biodegradable wipes for when we're out, they're about $5 or $6 but they come in a 60 pack so fit well in the nappy bag because they're 'travel' size but you get about 2x as much as other travel size wipes and but it's not as bulky as the 80 packs!

I have also used baby genie, they often have 4x 80 packs on special for about $12-$13 but it's only ever the scented packs and I don't like the smell. I do like they're fragrance free ones though.

Cheapest wipes from memory were Home Brand at $3 for 150 or something but they we're horrible! Hard to rip off/tear, smelt disgusting, dry...

Ditto to this I have only brought huggies right from when DD was born. I did try treasures one time and they were crap and didn't hold as much.

I have only ever brought huggies when they have been on special and stock up so only buying nappies every few weeks.

I usually buy what's on special. Im lucky my DS has been fine with all kinds of nappies, they have all fit, never any leaks.

I love huggies nappies but only buy them on special as they are pretty expensive. I found select nappies to smell quite a bit but they did the job.

Ive also used pams which are fine, Drykids nappies from babies.co.nz which were good, and have used babylove which are ok.

One problem I have had is with treasures- I bought a box of 80 nappies and probably about 10 nappies had problems with the tabs, some didn't have the tab at all on one side, some the tab ripped off. I thought it was just a one off so bought them again when they were on special and had the same problem! So I won't be buying those again. Thought it was just me, but Mum had the same problem using them on DS one day.

I usually bulk buy whatever's on special.

We use Home Brand during the day and Huggies at night and have no problems at all.

Tried Treasures which were okay, Budget which I hate cos of the Tabs, Babylove same as Treasures.
And just ordered a Trail Pack from Babyonlines Dry Ups.

Wipes - we use Huggies and I really like them and 80 for 3.99 is not bad when they are on special. Like Pams as well but only have Woolworths here.

Anyone tried Pampers??? Hate to buy a whole pack if they are not good. They should sell samples like they do with Formula.

Good to know Im not imagining the tabs thing with treasures!

With wipes I have found huggies wipes are nice but signature range/select, silk and pams wipes are just as good they just don't have the little teddies or whatever imprinted on them hehe, when I am tempted to buy something pricy I just remind myself what they are used for hahaha usually gives me a reality check about the extra dollar or two I need to spend to get the nicer ones.
