Hi all

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me, I'm shocked and confused..

I miscarried December 2010 and got pregnant again straight away before I even got a period, I did my first pregnancy test Feb 2 it was Positive, Feb 3 I started bleeding. I figured I'm miscarrying again and knowing there is nothing that can be done I didn't go to a doctor and waited for it to happen naturally at home.

as the weeks went by I kept randomly bleeding and kept testing and kept getting positive! Getting pretty fed up with the bleeding and the money I'm wasting on pregnancy tests, I rang my midwife on Monday and she sent me for a scan and it turns out I'm 11 weeks pregnant and bubs is fine!!?

But, I'm still bleeding, whats up with that? It gets worse every 3 - 4 weeks, like a really light period for 3 or 4 days, then in between its just random spotting some mornings... am I going to miscarry or what?

I was in total shock at the scan and didn't ask anything and I don't see my midwife till next Thursday

Very sorry for the huge novel but thanks for taking the time to read it

(((HUGS)))

Some people bleed throughout their pregnancies and go on to have healthy babies. Fingers crossed that you are one of them!

In your scan did they check that your cervix was closed and whether they could see the source of the bleeding?

Some women do experience bleeding when their period would be due... I wonder if you might be one? I can't imagine it being nice with the bleeding though! All the best!

I wasn't really paying attention, but I asked her if she could see any reason for the bleeding and she said no

I had fully expected her to tell me that baby died weeks ago and I was prepared for that, then the bleeding would make sense.

but she tells me the baby is fine? Now I'm freaking out about the bleeding and I hate our toilet with a passion

I kinda wish I hadn't found out, the worrying is awful.

I don't have any cramps, but I didn't get any cramps until 3 weeks after the baby died with my first miscarriage so that's not comforting to me

call your midwife if you are worried. but apparently your chances of miscarriage go down once a heartbeat has been seen and the fact you have got to 11 weeks sounds good. but yes some women bleed all the way through pregnancy. Not a comforting thought though i know.

I'm amazed it's survived 11 weeks, I've done NOTHING right, I been eating all the wrong things, not taking vitamins and drinking beer (only 1 or 2 cans cause it just tastes awful now, baby knows what it doesn't want I guess). In my defence though I honestly thought it had already died.

My first pregnancy I did everything right and it died at 6 weeks 4 days

If this one does stick I imagine it's going to be a stubborn, strong willed little bugger

Congrats Blueberries! That is great you have got to 11 weeks!

As others said, some people bleed the whole time which I can imagine would be very nerve-wrecking.

Fingers crossed and all the best

Hugs!! I can't imagine it's easy.

You could be like one of those ladies you read about in the magazines who go through pregnancy without realise they're pregnant until stomach pains turn into labour pains. They don't realise cause they bleed every month when their AF is usually due.

It sounds to me like your just getting a light period like many women do for the first few months when they find out there pregnent. My sister has four healthy happy boys and she bleed with all of them. I don't want to give you false hope but rest up and i hope for the best

so I'm still bleeding.

go for NT scan tomorrow, will be 13 weeks 3 days.

I bought a doppler yesterday and babys heartbeat is between 162 - 170. (I may have a new obsession)

Midwife said the first scan at 11 weeks was perfectly normal and no free fluids or any reason for the bleeding and they wont even look into it until 18 weeks. so if I'm still bleeding then I get sent to a specialist.

It's hard to get excited about it and also very hard NOT to after hearing the heartbeat.

grr

Scan went well, all the bits were there, Heart rate was 167, placenta on the back wall - I don't really know what that means but she said everything looked good so I'm just gonna go with that

so, what I don't like is reading threads like this that never let ya know how it all worked out... well...

20 weeks, still pregnant, still bleeding EVERY DAY. no reason can be found for why I'm bleeding, guess I'm just special. midwife says with the extra blood flow I most likely have a woosie cervix (hahaha my word not hers) she called it 'sensitive' I call it a woose!

Its a boy and he's moving HEAPS, everything looks good on all scans.

So, hopefully I'll be back in another 20 weeks to say he arrived safely and It is totally possible to bleed every damn day and still have a healthy bubba

hahaha thinking about buying shares in Libra panty liners though

Omg that would be frustrating! But glad he's safe & sound at the moment. Hope your cervix holds up the duration

Thanks, so do I, I've kinda gotten attached to the wee fella

my cervix is closed and hopefully stays that way for many MANY more weeks.

I consider myself to be a bit of an expert on the subject now hahahaha and with all the research I've done I have decided it is NOT an incompetent cervix just cause I don't like the sound of that. I'm working on my pelvic floor muscles just in case I have to hold him in though (which will do absolutely nothing but better to laugh than stress I say)

My midwife growled at me today and told me to stay off the internet, it just makes me worry too much I asked her so many stupid questions I don't blame her   but hey, it's what she's there for .... naa she's lovely and we're just joking around hahahaha aaahh good times
