I'm going to be away from DD (26months) for just over a week soon so have been trying to gradually wean her. She used to bf fairly frequently since she was a toddler but I've been able to distract and not offer at nights so we've been down to 2x for awhile now. But despite doing this gradually I am feeling like crap, my hormones seem all over the place and I keep thinking I must be pg to feel this tired and overemotional all the time, but I am not. I know I'll be tired anyway from how much sleep I get, but this seems a bit different.
Have other people felt like this? How long did it take your hormones to adjust?

Hormones are funny things! I recall the plunket nurse warning me that might happen when I was weaning DS. She said it can take a few weeks for things to settle down. It was the opposite for me, once I weaned I felt the best I had since DS was born, I had PND and not sure if that was a psychological or physiological effect from weaning but I was so much happier. Stupid hormones!!

It took until my milk was all but gone for me to stop feeling sad & guilty. As soon as I didn't have full feeling boobs/need to express everything came right.
