Since DD turned 1 she has become a very heavy wetter and i haven't found a cloth nappy to work for night. Atm she is using a disposable and a itti at the same time and its only just doing the job. Ive tried itti with boosters, baby blush, pop-in and a couple other various pocket nappies. Im going to try the pop-in one more time tonight as last night was the first night in it & mum put it on (she doesn't understand cloth nappies). Just encase it wasn't on quite right.
Does anybody have any other ideas on what i can do? |

Is your Pop-in a Dream Dri or the Original? If it's the original one it's bamboo so could take 6-8 washes before it's at maximum absorbency.
We use either a boosted bitti boo or Pop-ins for night time. Bitti boos need a cover so work well for a heavy wetter as you've got another layer... Thirsties covers work well, or woollen longies/shorties. Those 2 are probably the trimmest most absorbent options...I guess you could stuff a pocket like crazy but might not be very comfortable for sleeping in. Oh, and I'm assuming you're using the Dri Nite booster in the Pop-in? ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I use a pop-in original with a Dri night booster- you have to have th booster otherwise there is no way it will last the night. They do take a few washes to get up to full absorbancy. Make sure the flaps at either end are covering the inserts and that you dont have it too small on the rise- better to have it more open as its more likely to leak out the top than the legs (mine never has tho).
I tried the bitti boos but they didnt work for me and i didnt like the idea of having another cover. -------------

Okay, maybe it was the rise? She didn't leak through the legs, only over the top. She sleeps 13-14 hours so i need it to last that long. Bitti boo's were going to be my next test but i don't really like the idea of a cover either. If i can't get the Pop-in to work i will have to try them. |

The original Pop-in is bamboo and slightly more absorbent I've heard so you could always give that a go too - just get an original soaker set and use it with your nite booster in your dream dri shell... ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We have the Dream Dri original and new one too and they're both good, although they do leave marks on our chubba bubbas thighs lol. We also love Ecobubs wool pockets for nights. Rally good and warm for winter too -------------   http://lilypie.com" rel="nofollow">

I'm selling my Pop in original if you're interested? Without the night booster though - am keeping that

| I am giving the dream dri another shot tonight and DP brought an original today to try. Just need to wait for it to turn up. I have some ecobubs wool pockets & they are the only pocket i own and haven't tried for night. If these don't work after a few wears/washes i will add the ecobub to my lists of tests. Will just need to get some more inserts if that's the case. |

I have considered trying the Ecobubs wool pocket for nights for ages, but haven't plucked up the courage to buy one yet...especially as the Pop-ins and Boos work for us...

I do. I love my ecobubs..i'm on my phone right now but when i can get on the computer i'll link the extra boosters i use :-)
Ps i also have the ecobubs in every colour except pink lol including the new red/choc one

Mealz, we used to use an ecobubs wool pocket when DD was younger for nights (only had a medium). We stuffed it with 2x flat nappies folded up and one microfibre insert and it lasted well all night. Was really bulky tho lol. Will see if I can find a pic... Ok found one finally lol, this is at almost 10months

I have to say, the pop in worked reasonably well for us, but found the ecobubs to leak every night. Gutted as I bought two night nappies. And now they sit on my shelf doing nothing. Although it might just be that the side snap nappies don't work for my boy. They just gaped a lot around the thighs.

I have two night nappies: a Pop-in and a bitti boo (with Bummis cover).
I haven't had any leaks from either! 
I'm also interested to know why people aren't keen on covers. Ours seems to do a great job! |

| Im only not all that keen because i don't have the money for the nappies + the covers but i might need to. Pop-in still leaked last night but not as bad as the night before. Will try again tomorrow night. |

It'll work out cheaper to get the cloth night nappies. I've used ecobubs, pop in original, bitti boo's and fuzzibunz all at night they have all worked well. Although my latest ecobubs I have bought have leaked so I c=don't actually use them anymore. I use a fuzzibunz with 6 layers of mircrofibre, and a bamboo/hamp trifold, its only just lasting but I trying to get some more bitti boo's. I dont like the bitti boos as when it is wet it is wet all over it rather than just in the crotch. With a pop-in you can put a microfleece layer on top to make it a stay dry but you cant do that with a boo. They are the only Itti type that I dont like. -------------

I agree with needing to have the flaps down in the Pop-In, and making sure the inserts are tucked inside properly. Other than making sure they're done up fairly firmly, and the rise is nice and high, and they're washed a few times, I'm stuck as to what's causing the leaking.
With Ecobubs wool pockets, you definitely need to have a baby with chubby thighs for it to work! We constantly had leaks, and I'm sure it was because his thighs were too skinny at the time. |

random musings from when I was getting DD ready for bed- One thing I noticed was that once i put the pop in on DD and had her sitting on my knee, the back would go down like a low rider, so everytime I put her back in bed I would make sure the back was pulled right up. Also the dream dri might not be absorbant enough so getting the original would be good. -------------

In my Ecobubs I use just one of their inserts, a snazzipants cotton booster then a snazzipants microfleece topped booster (both found http://snazzipants.co.nz/ - here ) and that makes for a fairly bulky nappy but never had a leak..And my boy isn't chubby

I'm intrigued by the 'cover' comments too. Do you guys mean using another cover over a nappy that's already got a waterproof layer? Otherwise I'm bemused.
We used a bamboo fleece pocket nappy with a cover (yoyo) usually with a bamboo/hemp trifold and a microfibre. Lasts 12 plus hours and she looks absolutely fine in the morning, even though the nappy is really wet (mostly the inserts rather than the nappy itself). I wouldn't use anything other than a fitted plus cover at night I don't think. Just had too many problems with pockets wicking at the leg elastic no matter how carefully it's put on. Too much wriggling around I think! |

We used to have a couple of bitti boos which are meant to be really absorbant, but I had to put a pocket nappy with an extra insert in it over the top to prevent leaks. If we used just a plain cover over the boo it would leak.
I agree about pockets gaping at the legs if they have heaps of stuffing. That's why pop ins are my favourite
How you getting on with the pop in now Ricker? Any more leaks? I just remembered when we first got ours, I used to fold up a microfibre insert in the front (under the other layers so it wasn't against DD's skin) until it had been washed a few times. | Trudz, I didn't mean chubby legs in a bad way! Just that my boy's thighs were way too skinny for it to last over night. I still have our Ecobubs, I found it okay as a day nappy or as a cover over a fitted, or extra protection over a sposie at night. |

lisame- the bitti boo are a fitted nappy and need a waterproof cover as they arnt. The whole nappy gets soaked rather than the bit between the legs- thats why i dont like them. Never had an issue with my pop-ins except dont wash them in ecostore powder- it DOES NOT get the smell out-  -------------

The other thing I find is that Pop-ins are quite susceptible to getting compression wicking so make sure the bodysuit, if you're using one, isn't too tight. ------------- http://lilypie.com">
