Has anyone been to the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic in Auckland?

Did they find anything wrong through tests, or did they just get you to try again and they monitor the next pregnancy?

Hey Kelzie, I have been following your progress and hoping so much for things to work out for you. I'm so sorry you have had to go through this again.

I am seeing Repromed in Chch, they have done a million tests and they have all come back fine. I have to do a scan to check the lining of my uterus next cycle but to be honest I feel like they are clutching at straws a bit now. Because there is nothing wrong with DH or I he told me that eventually one would stick. Riiiiiight. So in the meantime we try again and hope like hell it works.

I recommend you do go and see someone to get some answers. I guess its worth eliminating the possible causes. Plus its nice to have the support when you do fall pregnant again - they will moniter you very closly.

You take care, I hope you are doing ok.

Kelzie- good luck with the RPL clinic
- my experience with them was rubbish, but it could have just been the doctor it got.
She scanned the results of the blood & ultrasounds and said 'well I cant see anything wrong' and 3x miscarriages is'one of those things'
She asked why I was bothering with Naturopatic rememdies as they were 'nonsense' and her advice was just get pregnant & come back for monitoring.

But fingers crossed u get some answers, take care & good luck xx

I ended up going to a specialist after my recurrents - he sent me for a variety of tests (heaps!!!) and it turned out to be a blood clotting disorder that was rare and I hadnt been tested for before. He was the first one to put the puliminary embolism a few years earlier and the recurrent MC's together and send me for blood tests based on clotting factors.
After that, I went on Cartia, got pregnant, went on clexane injections daily and now have the most wonderful 4 month old daughter after 5 years of torture. I am still on cartia now and I thank that specialist as without that info I could have had another clot which may have been fatal - he saved my life and gave me the gift of life.....

anyway - I recommend seeking help from as many different places as possible. If you don't like the answers from one place - try someone else and just keep trying!!!
Best of luck and I really hope you find your answers

Hey Kelzie, sorry you have to go through all of this again hun.
I have been to the recurrent MC Clinic in Auckland, they will probably ring you first and have a quick chat about whats going to happen. Then they send out a letter to your GP asking them to give you forms for a whole lot of bloods. You will also probably be send out an appointment for a scan with them. Once the results of everything are in then you get sent out an appointment time for them. With me they have also found nothing wrong so pretty much the same as BG and Kazza I was told eventually one will stick so keep trying (was told there is a 70% chance of it being fine next time but I don't really know where they get that figure from). They will do early monitoring though, so bloods and scans which I am happy about.

I am still seeing my naturopath as I have found her great so basically she is treating me and I will take advantage of the RMC's early monitoring.
I still believe the ANA's that my naturopath did bloods for and I have play a part in my MC's however as far as the specialist is concerned it is not something they believe causes MC's. If things don't work out next time I am going to pay to see another specialist and get a second opinion but at this point I am happy with what I'm doing for now.

I agree with what EcoMummy said above it is just a matter of trying as much as possible until you are happy with what you are doing. Personally I always like to have a back up plan (so I say if this doesn't work out again then I will do suchinsuch) don't know if it's for everyone but it makes me feel better.

ETA: Sorry this is all a bit of a mouthfull I hope I have made some kind of sense.
