Just a quick question I thought someone on here might be able to help with. Can you watch TV live online? Not like catching up on episodes, but as it screens?

Our TV is dying (everything elecronic in this house seems to be!) and since we're spending a bit on repairing the laptop that also died, I think replacing it isn't on the cards for a while. I just had the idea that once we get the laptop back, I might be able to watch it on that.

ETA that I did a google search, but couldn't bring up anywhere where it looked like you might be able to... I'm hoping someone knows something I don't!

Yeah I think you can? Something like http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Peripherals/Other/auction-367488060.htm - this?

Mind you, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to recent technology so that might not do what I'm thinking it does lol

Thanks for that Wow, I hadn't imagined you'd have to buy something extra to be able to do it. I was sort of thinking of something like the way you can listen live to the radio, I just couldn't find the TV version.

All I know of is TV tuner cards which KH25 posted an example of. Not sure how they'd work long-term with freeview tv being the only free to air option soon though.

Our TV runs via a PC (I'm not 100% sure of how it works - DH is the IT geek!). I do know that there are TV tuner cards in it and we get Freeview.

Hmmm sorry this probably isn't helpful at all!
