Any opinions/advice on the best electric breast pumps?

I have looked on Trade Me and there is someone selling unbranded pumps for $69 each - the brand names go for around $150.

I would probably be pumping 1-2 times a day.

cheers for any advice

Oh - should add i am currently renting a Mendela double from the hospital(which works really well) but it is $30 a week so should be much better off buying one

I am using a Medela Mini Electric which I got second hand off TM and it is great. Just make sure you get one that is BPA free - not sure if those cheapies off TM are?

I borrowed a Medela mini electric for DS1 and just bought one off TM for around $50. I'm happy to sterilise all the bits before I use it but you can replace the 'trumpet' and seal thingies with new ($20-30) and have a virtually new pump.

I just bought an ameda double electric pump. Haven't used it yet but have heard heaps of good things from people who have used one before.

I've got an Avent electric that can also do manual and I prefer it on the manual setting as I can get more milk out. So I don't recommend Avent electric.

I have both the Avent manual & electric pumps as well. I bought the manual 4 years ago for my first & the electric this year which can also convert to a manual pump as well. TBH, I wish I hadn't spent so much on the electric as my trusty old manual pump works better & you don't have to fiddle with the cords or battery.
