I'm not sure when to buy maternity bras? Quite early on in my pregnancy I had to get new bra's but I just got non wired bra's. I've got just over 8 weeks to go and the bra's I have are too small but I don't want to spend on proper breastfeeding/maternity bra's if I'm going to need to buy again just before bub is born. When did you all buy yours?
Thanks

It's really individual as to what your boobs do. For my daughter my breasts went up 2 sizes in the first trimester so I had to get new bras then. Then then did nothing until about the last month of pregnancy when they went up another size but I just stayed squeezed into the ones I had. When my milk came in I was HUGE so I was forced to buy a couple of bigger bras because I was so uncomfortable and didn't want to end up with mastitis because of tight bra, but after about 6-8 weeks they went back to the first trimester size again and I could fit into those ones I'd bought early on again. Keep an eye out for sales or it can get a bit expensive. Mind you I was BF'g still when I got pregnant again so I'm certainly getting my money's worth out of them!

i have been told to get fitted for nursing bras at about 36 weeks - as it will give the person fitting you a good idea on what your final size will be
although i am finding my bras are getting tighter, so got an expander which is making it more comfortable (it cost me $5 at farmers) - so basically makes the bottom band move out which also relaxes the sides, which is where i have grown
not keen on buying new bras either but think i won't be far away from having to get something else

I got mine at 36 weeks as that was when I needed new bras. Yes, I was naughty and wore unwire bras till then, only got them then as it was getting sore at the bottom. The fitting I had has been fine till now. Just got new ones and I ahd gone down a cup size.

My mum tried to get me to buy some when I was about 35 weeks pregnant but I managed to hold off until DD was about maybe 4-5 days old... I went from a Small B to a Small C in Pregnancy and in the space of a day or 2 from a Small C to a large DD... So very glad I held off! I didn't bother wearing a bra for the first 4-5 days after she was born and I hadn't really thought about it logistically feeding and what to wear etc during pregnancy... Umm I also didn't spend a HUGE amount on bras because as my milk settled my boobs got smaller and so by 3 months post baby I was a D cup, 6 months post = C cup and now am a B cup again but still feeding...

I would suggest holding off until bubs is born as when your milk comes in your boobs swell but soon settle. Perhaps during the larger time wear a feeding single and talk to one of the ladies at Bendon they are great!

Yip during the first week while your milk settles in I would definatly recommend either feeding singlets or those cheap bras that you can use for sleeping in (they are really soft and only like $10 or something from the warehouse) That way they strech enough to fit your enlarged milk boobies lol. Then after a week or so go get fitting for some proper ones.
That doesn't really answer your actual post though sorry
