For the past 2 days i have forgotten to give jack his afternoon milk feed so now he is getting 3 morning, lunch and before bed. He has 3 meals and lots of snacks and didn't even seem to notice it was gone.
Is he getting enough milk or should I add the other back in? He is nearly 9 months

Sounds pretty good to me, I weaned my girls at around 11 mos and at that stage you can just give them a cup of milk with breakfast (although I have never given them milk every day after weaning). How long were you hoping to feed him for?

thats exactly how i dropped feeds with gabriel. if he isnt grizzling for it or anything then he is fine...its great when it happens so smoothly. job well done.

I have no plans for weaning I'll just let him lead. Thanz for your replies I can't find anywhere that says about how many feeds at each age.

just looked in gabriels baby book and at 8 months he went to 3 breastfeeds and 3 solid feeds...and he chose to stop breastfeeding at about 14 months...but by that stage he was only on one a day anyway.

i sometimes wish mikey didn't love his milk feeds so much, he's 10 months old now and he's still having a milk feed before every sleep and when he wakes up in the night (which is naughty, i know). i think it's fine that jack doesn't have that feed though if it seems like he doesn't mind, it's great that it's going so smoothly for you

HAnnah was on much the same Rach. The doctor said she should be having around 600ml milk a day, which I know is really hard to gauge when you're breastfeeding, but Hannah is having around that a day with 3 botles now...
