I'll be going back to work when DS is 8 months old. When your child was 8 months, how often did they feed, and if bottle feeding (FF or EBM) how much would they have per feed? Just trying to work out my expressing "target" (and timetable).

The list I've got says 600-1200ml of milk for 5-12months of age, the quantity of milk declining as solids increase.

Alex has 3x 180-200ml bottles and a couple of little bottles of like 60mls. He has a lot of solids though

Ben eats heaps as well which will help. At 7 months, he's having early morning, late morning, mid afternoon and evening feeds ... so I'll have to express twice I'm guessing he may drop one of those (or have a smaller one like Alex) over the next couple of months

Zac has 4 bottles a day - I make 200ml but he rarely drinks it all. He is still only having 2 solid meals a day but I imagine when he starts having 3 and solids before milk, he will cut down a bottle.

Hey my son as just turned 9months (I went back to work when he was 7) and he has 3 BF, I'm lucky at moment the as DH bring my littly to work for me to feed he also has 1 bottle. I think if he was FF it would prob be 3 bottles. He as been on this regrem since he was 7 months, and I think he might he nearly ready to drop down a feed.

DS dropped from four to three feeds a day at about 8 months, has been eating heaps of solids right from the get go though - just switched him to formula as I go back to work soon and it hasn't altered the number of feeds he has. He's having about 180-200mls per feed, plus a small amount of water with each meal.

I went back to work when DD was 3 months and DH is SAHD. So I have been expressing for over 8 months now as she is 11 months.
To be honest the amount she drinks is really variable depending on the day, what she has eaten, how she is feeling, the weather etc etc.
I freeze iceblocks for DH to use as required and always try to keep ahead of the game as my suply can vary. The KellyMom website has some good tips for keeping your supply up etc.
I do think that DD worked out that I would let her feed as much as she wanted in the evening so made the most of it. I figure it helped keep supply up as well.

I haven't experienced this myself, but a friend has just gone back to work and her boy is about the same age.
She's found that he doesn't drink much milk during the day at day care, he tends to drink more water with his solids. He then has big breast feeds in the evenings and once or twice overnight to make up for it.
Just thought I would share that - of course your wee one might be totally different.
