So now Maxatron is nearly out of his mediums, and they're nearly all LE ones and i can't bear to part with them so i was going to put them away for a future child but that could be YEARS away. So best way to keep them safe and sound?

By the time baby no 2 arrives, my son's nappies would have been in a plastic storage box for two years. I just washed them and put them away. I've had a look and they look exactly as they did when I put them there. Can't wait to start using them again!

I just got DDs NB nappies out after about 18 months of storage. I stripped washed them prior to putting them away in a drawer so that they were nice and clean. All I have done is rewash them to freshen them up for this bub.

If I was storing them for longer I'd pop them into a plastic lidded box with some essential oils to deter insects.

There is a concern that over time the elastic and PUL could degrade but if stored correctly they should be ok...

Here's a link from a discussion thread on the itti bitti FB page that talks about this - https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/topic.php?uid=22609437342&topic=14815 - Storing ittis

I've decided to sell mine (not the LE though) unless I'm UTD when DS grows out of them...how fun to have to rebuy all the nappies again!!

Oooh thanks guys. I have a box for them but was worried about moths and mould and the like. How gutting to store them for 5 years and then have them disintigrate after!

Just make sure they are totally and completely bone dry otherwise I could see them growing mould. And if you store them in plastic keep the container in a cool place so the box doesn't sweat.

It's might even be worthwhile putting a couple of those sachet things that absorb moisture in with them, especially if they're going to be in storage for a while.

I thought about them, Jaune, i now regret throwing out a million of them with shoes over the years. Might have to go to the warehouse and borrow some from the shoe boxes on shelves...or just buy some new shoes.

I stored Ella's nappies in the vacumn sealed bags until Tom was ready to use them (as well as her clothes)- some of them were in there for nearly a couple of years and were in still good condition when I needed to use them.
