Ashleigh is having real issues with wind while drinking her bottle. She takes around 100ml and we have to burp her around 5 times during the feed which is getting quite frustrating   She is also quite hard to wind so it is taking forever to feed her. She is using Avent bottles and teats at the moment. I have also tried the Tommee Tippee Nuborn bottle with crosscut teat but it was pretty much the same. Does anyone have any recommendations for a different brand that may help???

We've started using the Tommee Tippee Close to Nature bottles, they are designed to mimic the breast and have an anti-colic valve. We've found Maddie seems to do heaps better on those than with the Avent ones and I really am loving them! Maddie seems to have a more natural sucking action on them that looks more like the one she had when she was on the breast.

We've also been finding getting her to take plenty of breathers, even if we don't burp her every time, is helping as well. She was bringing back up quite a lot before now it's pretty minimal.

We use the Avent anti colic teats and also 0.2ml of Infacol at every feed.
We tried over the weekend to try her without the drops and all we ended up with was a very upset girl with a belly full of wind

Did I ever mention on here how much I LUUURVE Infacol? hehehe

we use Pur self strealising bottles here as madison would not have a bar of the avent ones. and use gripe water before a feed which really helps her with wind

we used the ommee tippee ones for Taine but found it took practically forever for him to get the milk out...so I...kinda cut it a little. He loved it and could gulp down enough. before he's fall asleep from exhaustaion from all the work needed to have a dirnk!

We were given a choo-choo teat in the hospital. They minimise breast/teat confusion and make baby work harder (like on the breast) for feeding. I think most chemists have them. We only had 1, and it worked well, but then Amelia went back on the breast, so when we use bottles now, we are using the Avent ones.

I used NUK airflow bottles but ella is no good on them anymore since her reflux took a turn.

I now have her on the new anti colic tommee tippee bottles.

PS i have 2 newborn teats for sale if anyone wants them and also all my NUK bottles i have 7 NUK bottles and 4 little NUK ones.

I use the self sterilising pur simplicity bottles with age appropriate teats (she's 5 months and is on 3-6 month flow). I make sure that the lid is not screwed on tight so that she gets optimum flow and the air just floats straight to the top. Unfortunately there is no miracle cure for wind (or so my Dr tells me) but I think that infacol is God whenever Olivia gets a bit windy.
There is a specially shaped (slight v shape) NUK bottle that you can get at the pharmacy (in my town anyways!) it has an air valve at one end to control colic.
Also your brand of formula could be attributing to wind, it might be a bit to heavy for her tummy we changed formulas from Gold Karicare to Regular and Olivia just wouldn't wind so we had to change back (it also flared up her reflux).
Good luck that it sorts itself out soon.
Congratulations on becoming a Mummy!

Thanks for your suggestions guys, I'm going to go out today and have a look at some different bottles. I started Ashleigh on SMA formula but she started waking during her afternoon sleep with tummy pains and was getting upset so I changed her to Karicare and she seems to be doing much better. She is obviously still shocking during her feed but isn't getting the griping pains in between now
