Do you visit a Toy Library? Which one is your favourite?

My local playgroup, they lend out toys which are written down in a book and you bring them back after a couple of weeks. No fees and the toys are in reasonable condition.

Visited a local toy library and was a bit disappointed at the condition of a lot of the toys, with parts missing etc. I understand it must be hard to look after things if parents don't, but still seemed a little expensive for what it was and they didn't have very convenient opening times either, but I'm sure they do their best.

We used to go to the one on Portage Rd in Green Bay, it was great and really cheap.
We have since moved away and the "local" toy libraries are either too far to drive to to make it worthwhile or are only open for a few hours a week.

We did but stopped because there wasn't anything for 6mo and under. Should join up again but unsure at this stage!

we go to the Milford Plunket toylibrary (which is actually in sunnynook??) and love it. Have been members for around 3 years now and I still see toys which we haven't seen before.  Ours costs $90 for a year (if you help out 1 morning a term).

Great...I've bought next to no toys in the last 2 1/2 years but have had loads of different toys through the house. Love that we can get puzzles as well as toys as well.

We used the Papamoa Toy Library for my nieces when they were visiting and will go back for our one once they're old enough. Fees were reasonable too, $65 with no duties if I remember rightly.

$60 with no duties or $30 with 4 helps a year here. I joined but put membership on hold as there was next to nothing for under 1 but the stuff they did have i'd buy myself (stacking rings and the like) or were really grotty and missing bits (xylophones with missing keys etc). I will go back when DS is a bit older as they had HEAPS of big ride on toys, and play kitchens and things like that. Ours also has really odd hours - only open an hour and a half 2 or 3 times a week which blows as typically DS might sleep through most of their open period so i can't look/return.
