What are your plans for Father's Day? What sort of surprises have you and/or your kids come up with for your partner/Dad?

Still working on this one. It will be his first father's day with 'our' baby, now 8mths, he has a 9yr old daughter that I thought I might get her to help make dad a special breakfast & somehow rope baby into it. We have the usual kids swimming run in the morning, so no doubt he will get kids jumping all over him.

We have Father's Day a week earlier due to me being away Father's Day weekend every year.

But the boys made dad breakfast (eggs on toast) supervised by myself. They took it into him so he could have breakfast in bed. They spent all day with him doing boy things.

On Father's Day itself the boys will be with their dad, he will have to make breakfast but they can give him the presents they have made him at pre-school and school. I have arranged a present that the oldest can give him.

For my dad with im being overseas I txt him to wish him a happy fathers day and will call him when I am back from my weekend away.

breakfast and coffee in bed, massage feet from the kiddies, letting him do all his manly things without me moaning at him (thats usually what happens haha!) and a huge roast dinner with all the bits and bobs. hes a easy man to please. for my father and my father in law - they will just be getting a home made card from the kiddies and a lotto triple dip :)

my 20month old will help get dad breakfast in bed, and then we will head for lunch to his fathers house, where we meet up with other family, and then in the afternoon we head to my fathers house. The special treat is that my husband doesn't need to change a nappy all day lol.

i will also let him play as much XBOX as he wants without complaining

we have recently had our 2nd baby boy on 9th August & have a 2 1/2 yr old so I had a mug made with pictures of the boys on it for fathers day & also got a 1kg box of roses chocolates as my husband has a sweet tooth. he doesn't eat breakfast so breakfast in bed isn't an option..

We are having a roast lamb lunch at his parents & will also be celebrating his birthday which is on the Monday so he is very lucky to get 2 lots of presents, 2 days in a row. Last year it was on the same day!!

We are away this year for Fathers day (DD is staying with family) but as a rule we don't generally celebrate things like mothers/fathers day, valentines day etc. Why just celebrate these things one day a year, why not 365 days of the year?

Well hubby is getting band hero for xbox as a combined birthday/fathers day gift as he still had money left that he was given on his birthday. So I imagine he'll spend some time with the girls playing that.
We're going to a bonfire with friends the night before so we'll probably have a fairly quiet day in most parts but we also plan on shining torches into the sky at 7pm in support of our region (Canterbury) with the 1 year anniversary of the first quake. (http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/canterbury-earthquake/83680/lights-to-beam-from-cathedral-square)

As far as for my dad I have some aftershave to send up to him and will get the girls to do cards this afternoon when my eldest is home from school

Hmmm not sure what we'll do this year. He doesn't sleep in so that rules that out. It's usually a usual day for us. I'll get the kids to do homemade cards to give to him.

We are going to go for brunch for Father's Day using a grab1 voucher we bought and my son made Daddy a picture at playgroup last week (which I put away carefully and have forgotten where it is!) My husband is really looking forward to Father's Day, makes him feel really special :)

It'll be DHs first father's day, DD is 9 months old.

We're going to let him sleep in, and while he does that we'll sneak off to KFC and get a family feast or something to bring home for lunch. KFC's his favourite takeaway. I've also got him a photo mug from Snapfish and we're going to work on a card today - I like the handprint one that I saw on the ohbaby homepage today!

We will do breaky in bed and DS is making cards for DH and the three grandads (will post the grandfathers cards tomorrow).
I'm going to let DS go mad on some paper with his paints and then do a handprint on the back page.
We will just spend the rest of the day enjoying it as a family, I don't believe in going crazy for Fathers Day/Mothers Day etc, doing something nice together is the best gift IMO

And a bucket of M&Ms cos he likes them hehe

I didn't look at the calendar so accidentally held it a week earlier. Daddy got a card and a new book light. He didn't remember when it was and wouldn't have known I'd got the date wrong unless I told him anyhow.

Our Bub is due in December but I've got DH a little onesie that says "I Love Daddy" and making him a yummy brekkie before he goes off to work. Then at night I'm making my Dad a homecooked roast dinner with all the trimmings and for the rugby fan, I got him an All Blacks jersey. My DH's dad lives in a different city so bought him some different types of honey from Taupo when we were down last and sent it up to him and we will of course ring him on the day (as long as our landline gets fixed!!!)

Got DH a book called 'I love Daddy' to read with our baby and also some photos in frames of him and Zac together for his desk at work.

Got my Dad (a major rugby and beer fan) a personalised stubbie with a photo of bubs dressed up in his All blacks onesie on it and sent him some photos of the two of them also. Not sure what we are going to do for FIL..

Not gonna do much on the day.. dress baby in his Daddy is awesome shirt and let DH do what ever he feels like

I am printing and framing a poem and will get DS and DD to do their handprints at the bottom of it, as we are moving out of our rental and into our first home late Sept, DH can hang it wherever he likes when we move

Other than that, I'll get up to both kids and attempt to make him breakfast in bed if I can wrangle it before he gets up! Then we will spend the day together as we always do on a Sunday and will pop over to my IL's to give Grandad a home made gift.

My Dad and Step-Dad don't live in NZ so I'll send them a card which will be a nice surprise as it's not their Fathers Day over there.

We're really big on occasions in our family. We'll make DH breakfast in bed, then give him his presents - this year this kids drew in a card, and I bought him a really nice book and a full day of paragliding with lessons, solo flights, tandem flights etc.
Then in the evening we have a big family get together for a shared meal, with all us siblings and our dad :)
Probably a bit extravagent compared to everyone else! lol but that's just us :)

we dont normally do fathers day but this morning my husband said how it will be funny that Toby will be away on the morning of fathers day and i realised my husband thinks more of it than i do. So when i was in the warehouse i picked up a few things for the kids to give him - got a really cool Mr Happy soap and shampoo set (hoping it will cheer him up cause he has been a bit low about work at the mo), a bar of chocolate that he will and some mini smellies for his bag for work. He works on sunday so while he is away i will get the kids to choose one and wrap it for a surprise when he comes home. He wont be expecting a thing!

this yr i got him something from each of the boys the boys all had something to do with what we got him, i have told ds2 that tomorrow when he wakes up he can get the presents and give them to daddy, he knows where they are hidden, ds1 wanted to give him his present when he wasnt even home today. i wont actually be home as i have a friends baby shower to go to. tomorrow we are having lunch/tea with dh's mum and brother.
i had hoped to give dh some exciting news but no bfp this month.
