I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there, who like me, has dust mite & Hay fever allegies.
I do not have a baby yet and Im not pregnant but my partner and I will be looking at trying early next year.
But before then I think I may have to go on these Immunology Injections for my Dust Mite & Hay Fever Allergies and I was just wondering if there was anyone else that has been through or going through anything similar?
Im also currenlty taking Telfast 180mg and on these different creams. But needed to know if anyone else is in a similar position

I haven't been through immunology injections, but if there is anything that you could do now that could possibly reduce the chances of hayfever when pregnant i would say absolutely go for it.
My hayfever has been a nightmare while pregnant. Not only are the symptoms worse, but you can't take most medications and I find the natural remedies do very little for me.
Interestingly I didn't get much hayfever at all over the last year (after I had my DS), but it has kicked back in again with this pregnancy.

I am allergic to dust mites and grasses and pollens. I can't eat honey or I get excema all over my body. Funnily enough I don't get really bad hayfever.
I went to Allergy Specialist Dr Vincent Crump in Ponsonby who I highly recommend, have you tried him at all? He does do injections but not sure if he could make any other recommendations for you.
He is not cheap but I could claim him back on our insurance.

Well I have my specialist appointment today with Dr Ameranatanga in Grafton. Its my 2nd one and I will be getting the RAST test results today when I go so that will detirmine if I will be going on the injections or not. Last time I was there he did say that he used to tell woman that were pregnant to stop the injections but now he can not see a problem with it.
Im not pregnant yet but we will be trying in a few months. Thing is I dont know if I want to have the injections while pregnant. So do I wait or do I start the injections before TTC and then stop them when I get preggos?
I guess I should really wait to see what the results say. I might be allergic to more things...

Well just got back from the Specialist and I had a high reaction to Dust Mites. So the immunology injections start next week. Weekly for the first 12 weeks and then move to Monthly for the next 5 years.
Im just releived that I can still have the injections while pregnant

You may find that your allergies get considerably better while you are pregnant. I get bad hayfever and allergies (food and environmental triggers) and with both pregnancies I got a nice break from them, it was bliss! My doctor said this was quite common, due to the suppression of your immune system during pregnancy. Hope this happens for you!
