I didn't actually do BLW with DS1, but I had the book (which I've lost) and did give him finger foods from day 1. Just that I now can't remember when day 1 was, or what finger food I gave him.

I remember making lots of vege fritters and cutting them up into fingers. But can't remember what age that was from.

Solids are recommended from 6mths with BLW. Starting with lightly steamed or boiled vegetables that will 'smoosh' in their mouth, in shapes that they can easily hold. Broccoli is a favourite in this house.

i never read the book - i just gave my daughter anything that was big enough to hold in one hand and have the rest in her mouth. Sushi was a big hit at about 6 months old.
