We want to get DS a balance bike for his 2nd birthday. What brands do you/ do you not recommend? What are the differences between brands? Wooden or metal? Thanks!

MIL got Lily a Mocka for Xmas. Recommended by my cousin.
ETA:
We were going to get a metal frame one as the shop assistant said the wooden ones the wood went funny in the rain but my cousin said thats BS and they don't leave it in the rain and dry it if it;s used in the rain etc. However the wooden one we got was left in the rain, screws are rusty looking but it's otherwise fine.

I second the mocka ! They do free delivery too. R loves it to bits . If you go to http://www.mocka.co.nz/balance-bikes/wooden-urban-bike.html - Blance bikes . At the bottom they have the measurements of the different bikes. Just measure A's inside leg. They're on sale now as well $89.95 down from $119
Lol crap spelling on that link, must be bedtime

Cool thanks- we were looking at mocka's online, but the only ones we have seen in shop here is a runner- and they are heaps more expensive so we wondered what the difference was. But now Ive figured out once u add the price for the stand, bell and bag, the runner in the shop here is only $10 more than the mocka- the runner comes will all those things as standard.

We have this bike for DS's birthday too, we bought it at the Parent & Child show when I was pregnant with him so we've had it in our wardrobe for over two years now lol. I bet the boys will love them

YEah Runna is just a brand of balance bike- almost identical to the Mocka brand balance bike, as far as I can see. There are loads of different brands on trademe, but the Runna and Mocka have the lowest height adjustment- starting from 32.5/33cm, which is what u need if u want to use it from 2yrs- Aiden's inside leg measurement is 31cm, he'll be 2yrs in Jan.

Go for metal the wooden ones dont last as long. Once they work out how to go over jumps you will need the strength of the metal bike. the Wooden toy box sells them for about $130

We have a metal one which has been awesome! the seat is adjustable so you don't wait till they are a certain hight for them to use it and it grows with them too!

So, you can always ask which bike your kid likes more. This is the best variant of all because he definitely likes what he has chosen. Unfortunately, children are not good at technologies and https://www.5best.com/how-you-can-find-the-very-best-electric-bike-for-kids/" rel="nofollow - this source will help you to find a really good bike and do not waste your money
