Yay Congrats Sparkl!!! What a great result from the Clomid, and from your first cycle! Very exciting news, esp after 11 months of BFN's huh.

I'm also due with a December bubba - EDD 5/12/12. This will be my 3rd, and DH and I are super happy to be expecting again, after a few months of trying this time round

Am so happy to be due in early December again, as that means DH will take a 6week long Christmas holiday from work, to help out with the baby (and toddlers!). DS was born on Dec 3rd, which was a wonderful time of year for having a newborn... no worries about extra heating all through the house, trillions of blankets, extra layers of clothes etc. Just a perfect time of year for new babies IMO

Congrats Luckystar, hope this little group grows quickly! You'll be busy with 3 pre-schoolers, fun though!

Yip I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the two lines, was very surprised as I had a laparoscopy booked for 2 weeks time to check out things after my specialist found a few things during an examination. So pleased I will be able to cancel that surgery

I'm looking forward to a December baby, just in time for Xmas and as you say we'll be coming into nice weather etc. Ok i'm off to see if I can find a heading/banner thing for the group

Hi guys, just adding myself in here! UTD with number two... our honeymoon baby! Bit surprised to get pregnant so quick this time around (1st try! - didn't want to get pregnant before the wedding haha) but an awesome surprise at that! Currently waiting to get the call up in the mail for a dating scan but prob wont be for another three weeks as the radiology here is super busy

Congrats ChikkyD! Awesome suprise to end your honeymoon on! My DD was a honeymoon baby too, which was our first month of trying. I think there's a lot to be said for TTC whilst on holiday - like your ovaries just know to relax and do their thing or something

Hope you get your scan soon. Hard waiting to see, but I guess the further out your appointment is, the more chance of you being able to see a heartbeat even!

Hi and congrats ChikkyD! You'll have a nice age gap between your little girl and bubs

Well I rang the specialist and canceled my surgery, they were so happy for me Also i'm booked in for a scan on April 26th. Should be 7.5 - 8 wks by then so hopefully I can see something and it's not too early. Because I was on Clomid I have a higher chance of having twins eek! Nurse is sending me out some forms to get bloods done and she gave me the name of a midwife they always recommend. I managed to phone her and i'm booked in. (My friend had others I know have used her and been really happy so that). So yay it's all coming together, let's just pray this baby is a sticky one

yeah I wonder how many other dec 2010 mummy's will turn up?

last time I had morning sickness (which was really 24hr sickness) from week 6 to 17, so this time I'm really hoping for less. I've heard it can be worse with girls so I think I'll be hoping for a boy this time (although I do really like girls, so I guess either will be lovely )

Woohoo Soda - I totally reckon that your bubba bean is just meant to be. Your body must remember what it's doing after having Maddy or something, so was happy to get UTD this time round

And ChikkyD, nope wasn't meaning wannabee as much as her two are def *gorgeous* little twins!! Have a friend from my local coffee group out west, who had Clomid twins. Part of me would love to find out that we were having twins this time round, as I would like 4 babies, but then the sane part of my brain thinks "oh HELL no you dont!!!" haha!

So pleased to see our little thread is gaining some momentum with new mamas to be. Awesome

Yay Soda on getting UTD so quickly second time round, your body must know what to do now eh! Hopefully that's the case for us when we ttc #2 someday (if I don't get put off after #1 lol) as this bean took nearly a year to conceive (gotta love fertility drugs to help things).

Took another test this morning, bit like you Soda, still can't believe there are 2 lines there It's such an awesome feeling.

I'm actually really tempted to go take another test too, I think because last time I could notice that I was pregnant (such as bigger boobs!), but this time, nothing seems to have changed so I'm a bit paranoid that perhaps I'm not after all. Although in saying that my skin looks worse than when I was 14, so maybe all the hormones have gone there instead this time =)

Are you guys going to the doctors to get it confirmed? Or just straight to a midwife? I just found a midwife last time, but she gave me a bit of weird look when I said that I'd only taken the home test so I'm wondering whether maybe you're meant to go to the doctors or something as well. I'm planning on finding a new midwife this time as I didn't really get on with my last one (who was the only one out of the 10 or so I called who agreed to take me on with my due date being between xmas and new years, but hopefully with the earlier date this time I'll have a bit more choice).

Okay so I'm kinda lurking here because I'm due around the end of Nov. DS was well late so have a feeling I may end up in Dec. Have a dating scan today so I'll have a better idea of which month I'm likely to be in!

As for midwife...I went to the doc to confirm and she gave me the meds I needed to take, dating scan referral and first bloods. I told her (the doc) that I'm going with the same midwife as last time so she knew I would only be there for the first appointment.

Turns out my midwife is away for 5 weeks so may need to go to doc again for second scan....we'll see when I know dates

Niquey I went to doctor to confirm because my tests were pretty faint.. but positive none the less. Anyway I want to the doctor and I did one of those quick card tests there, it came back with a faint line but a line non the less, he proceeded to tell me it was negative!
He caharged me $60 for the visit because if your not pregnant its not free. Anyway he reluctantly send me for bloods and wadda ya know... HCG of 83.
They then said I had to go in for another test to make sure the levels were rising so I did that - but never heard the result back for them, so just ended up contacting my midwife from last time and shes sorting out a dating scan!

Antenatal care in a small town... gotta love it

GL for the dating scan today sethsmama! I can't wait for mine but at the same time I want to wait for a couple weeks because I want to see a heartbeat

Glad your scan went well sethsmama. Gosh 11 days over last time, you must have been pretty impatient by then

I took another test today and there were 2 very definite lines so looks like it's all go..

hi guys, well im blimmin confused, but my bloods came back yesterday negative. level was 1, so theres no way ive got a viable pregnancy going on at this time dont understand how i can get so many lines on tests (and seriously? who does 7 tests and gets evap lines on them all??) so i think someones playing a cruel joke on me this time around. no sign of AF tho so ill be darned..will give it a week then go for more bloods if im still in limbo, but im sure ill get AF before then. lots of love to you all and fx for lovely healthy, uneventful pregnancys x x x

On no Soda so sorry to hear that about the low levels Maybe it was a chemical pregnancy? Seems weird that you got so many positives then such a low level. Thinking of you.

Great news about another + test Niquey and pleased the scan went well SethsMama

Yay for Hannahlou (friend of mine I met on a ttc forum). So excited for you and stoked we are due a few days apart. Always the way, relax and it will happen. That happened for us too. I had lap surgery scheduled for April so thought i'd just get answers for then so wasn't trying hard out then hello UTD!

So sorry to hear that Soda I wonder what was going on? Actually something similar happened to me last month, I had two tests with faint lines, then the third nothing, then ended up getting AF about 8 days late. Hello ladies, and Congratulations to you all!
I am expecting baby number 2 on the 5th of Dec - same as you lucky star. I've had 2 positive home tests, but yet to get to the doctor as it takes ages to get an appointment where I live unless it's an emergency . This baby happened as soon as we started trying - super-excited, but surprised it happened so fast. Feeling slightly, though constantly nauseous and quite tired. I remember that from last time, except now I have a very active toddler to keep me busy. Hope you are all well and enjoying some rest time over the long weekend. So pleased to be here! xox

Congrats Hannah, Skrip and Jess!!!

Yay for having a due date buddy Jess.. and I've got that constant, slightly nauseated feeling too btw. Sucks huh I've even started to feel sicker after eating for some reason. Isnt food supposed to help?!? I mean, seriously.

Also, I have suddenly found myself feeling absolutely totally exhausted all day long

DH just says, "oh good I suppose that means the baby is doing heaps of growing"... ummm yes, I guess it does mean that, but more importantly it ALSO means that I need lots of special treatment and deserts brought to me hahaha!

Hope you're all having a happy easter weekend!

Congrats to all the new ladies! We're really starting to get quite a group going now.

Yesterday was the first day that I felt properly pregnant, I was dizzy and light headed, plus utterly exhausted. Luckily feeling a bit better today.

To those people who already have kids, what age did you start them at preschool/daycare? I'm tempted to start sending DD off a couple of days a week (mainly so I can get some work done as I work part-time from home) but I'm concerned that she's a bit young to be spending so much time away (she's 15 months). On the other hand part of me thinks it's just me not wanting to let go and that she'll actually be fine.

Hope you're all having a good easter weekend - about time the weather started co-operating!

My EDD is 02/12/2012 - my first pregnancy. Still struggling to believe it's really happening! Hanging out for that ~12 wk scan!

The extra 4 bra cup sizes and the nausea help it seem real so I'm bizarrely grateful for these discomforts!

It was our first try so I'm still a bit in shock - at the same time, it's been 6 years since we got married and the clucky hormones kicked in around then so it feels like it's been a very long wait!

Had a lovely trip to Muriwai beach with the family today. Kids played on the awesome playground, ate hotdogs, dug in the sand and paddled in the shallow waves! Could be forgiven for thinking that summer was not over afterall Funny pgncy moment though, when I was feeling sick and realised i HAD to eat something urgently to make it stop... went to the beach cafe and ended up chowing down a cheese burger at 10.30am Oh dear, oh dear.. Must stop indulging such random cravings, or I could be in serious trouble when visiting our OB soon!

Ha ha you're not the only one who had to do multiple tests...I did one a couple of days too early because the suspense was killing me and of course it was negative, then spent days convincing myself it won't happen but I'll wait til Sunday at least, I'll get my period by then probably and I'll know...but no period and got a VERY faint positive on Sunday morning, exactly 4 weeks since my last period. It was a bit of a let-down actually, because hubby didn't believe the line was there! So much for "big fat positive"! Ha ha.

So then I did one the next day, bit darker, next day darker again...did one a couple of days later before my dr appointment - quite obvious - and again a couple of days later when I met my midwife (dr said organise one quick so I did, while still struggling to believe it was real) - VERY dark line! So then I believed it! (and wasted about $30 at least) Got my friend in the UK to verify the lines via Skype! We helped her freeze her verucas over Skype so it seemed fair enough to, as she put it, get her to inspect my "pee sticks"!

How I wish I needed a dating scan to make sure it's real and growing! I didn't quite realise until AFTER the BFP that the previous two weeks was going to seem like a short wait compared to the next 8 or so waiting for a scan!

I wish I had a dating scan this week or next! But have to wait to see OB on 26th, which is going to be a long couple of weeks...

My morning sickness has not been too bad today at all, so of course the first thing I do is start to worry that perhaps something is wrong! Daft lady that I am! I know I shouldn't be so anxious about it, but until I've seen a little heartbeat in there, I don't think I will be able to relax into being pgnt properly iykwim!

Hi there

sorry I have replied sooner. For some reason it wasnt letting me reply to any posts or post in any forums

I have had a couple of symptoms...just went I eat certains foods I start to feel a bit sickly. Getting tired easily. but thats about it

Yes so happy it only took us a couple of months of trying. We are very fortunate

I didnt believe it at first when I did my first POAS (just got those small POAS off the internet) so much so that I went out and bought a First Responce test and did another one. Haha DP still doesnt thinkits really and so I have booked myself in to see the doctor (cant get in til the 24th though as shes away) he wants me to get a second opinion and her to confirm its real...I think he's in shock that it happened so quickly. god love him

Then I cant wait for the 12 week scan so I can start telling people.

will start telling other family once I have seen the doc

Oh I am terrible when it comes to buying baby stuff...when my sister and also my SIL and even friends got preggers over the years. I always go out and buying way too many things...I think DP is going to have to take my Credit Card off me over the next 8-9 months so I dont buy anything...but hopefully after all the stuff we got everyone else we might be lucky enough to get a few things back in return...
We're hoping to get a friends cot and change table she has we just have to wait and see...and we're getting my sisters Buggy that she no longer uses...so those are the big ticket items that we really need..as sesame seed (baby) will be due over the summer months. hopefully he or she wont need too many clothes to start with...it will mainly be summer onesies and nappies
Going to start buying nappies when we find out if its a boy or girl...although I dont think it matters too much at that age surely?

Posted By: Skrip
Date Posted: 11 April 2012 at 9:41am
Nah, newborn nappies are unisex (as are cloth if you decide to go that way). Buy LOTS of them!

sweet I will be thats for sure. I have heard there's a website as well that a lot of people use to get bulk cheap nappies.
Its called like nappies direct or something like that

Man I so cant wait to get to see my doctor so I can then go for my dating scan and then my 12 week scan...man I will the next 7 weeks would just hurry up and fly by...
Need to keep myself busy with something I think

Yup definitely stock up on new born nappies - just don't go to crazy in case you have a whopper baby who gets to big before they get a chance to use them

I also can't wait for the 12 week scan, its my fave scan of all of them I got a dvd of DDs 12 week scan, its so crazy watching it thinking she was to teeny once upon a time! (and now she's a crazy toddler tearing apart my house!)

Congrats Luckymama!! Let's hope all our December bubs are super sticky =)

I went a bit crazy last time buying so much for DD that I don't think I have any excuse to go shopping this time around.. Pity though as I do love to go to mothercare!!

Well my nausea has sure kicked in, I'd forgotten just how awful it was. While cleaning my teeth last night I managed to throw up dinner - gross!!! Really feel like just lying in bed with my head under a pillow but somehow I think my energetic toddler will have a thing or two to say about that..

oh okay cool
No I was just wondering if anyone had yet or not.
Might look at doing one a little later on once we are all well into our 1st Trimester

So where is everyone from etc...what are your stories?

Im 33 from Auckland NZ, DP and I have been together almost 3 years now. It was our 2nd month of TTC. DP is 31. This is our first child and its all a bit surreal.
DP still doesnt think its real yet until we go for our first scan. which is why I want these next few weeks to just hurry the heck up :)

We jsut moved house 2 weeks ago as well so 2012 so far has been a great year for us. FX it stays that way and baby # 1 for us is happy and healthy little bubba

I cant believe we are having a Xmas Baby as well..I mean what an awesomoe Xmas Present :)

Has anyone thought of names for their baby yet?

We have middle names sorted...just not first names...they're so hard to choose cos allt he ones I do like other friends have children with that name, its also really hard at the moment as well cos my SIL is preggers with her 3rd shes 13 weeks doesnt know that we are pregnant yet (we've only told my sister) so I need to find a way of asking what names they are thinking of so I can eliminate them from my list early without any disapointment

A FB group a bit later on sounds good to me, gives more people a chance to get there BFPs and join in here..

I think December is a great month to have a baby - at least when you get up in the middle of the night it wont be freezing!

My story..

I'm 23. DH and I are living in Queenstown, got married about a month ago have DD whos 14 months and super cute! Love her to bits she was an awesome baby no trouble at all.

Really hoping he or she decides to arrive before my birthday

I found naming Shiloh really hard! But this time round we already know what we will call bubs if its a girl - if its a boy i'm totally stuck, i've gone off the name I picked for shiloh if she were a boy.

-------------

Posted By: Skrip
Date Posted: 11 April 2012 at 1:20pm
Haha DP and I had names picked out before we even knew I was pregnant. Admittedly, we weren't really thinking of getting pregnant until mid 2013 but what happens happens

If I have a girl she will be called Ruby-Ann Maria and if I have a boy he will be called Wade Kenneth.

I already have 3 children. My eldest is 8, the next is 5 and the bubba is 2. Two boys and a girl!

I live in Auckland.

Gosh I'm soooo tired right now.....still another 2 hours and 40 mins of work left!

Love Kenneth...thats DPs middle name :)

we only have middle names sorted at the moment

Girl - Meredith
Boy - Carter

and an idea for the first name for a boy so far is William but thats about it

I know what you mean about being tired...Im tired like all the time now...blah

Hi everyone my name is Tanithe and I have just found out I am pregnant with baby number 2. Lost baby number one at 17 weeks last year so am hoping for better luck this time around. Just had antenatal bloods today. Have my dating scan on the 21st of April because my doctor said I should wait until I am 7 weeks. At this stage it looks like I am due on the 8th of December but will see what the dating scan shows. I have equal parts excitement and fear with this pregnancy. I was very sick with my last pregnancy but wasn't working at the time so it wasn't a big deal but I've just got my first teaching job and can't afford to take time off. I also don't want them to know that I am pregnant until I get a permanent role as I'm only on fixed term at the moment. Sneaky I know but I need the job and I can't see that I would need too much time off work all things going well.

It's getting so busy with lots of December bubs. We are expecting number 2 - yay, very excited. Went for bloods yesterday and EDD is 09/12/12.
Our first scan is booked for 8th May - which feels like SO long away.
How did everyone else get such early scans booked in??
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy pregnancy x

My Scan next week is a dating scan because my last period was at the beginning of March and lighter and shorter than normal. So just checking I am 5 weeks pregnant and not 9 weeks! You just need to tell the Dr that you're not sure about dates

Oh I can SO relate...I was worrying last night and first thing this morning that I was feeling quite remarkably good the last few days, after having nausea and breast enlargement and tenderness since one week after conception. But then I got up...and was hit by nausea and aching breasts again. My afternoon nausea appears to have had a wee break then turned into actual "morning" sickness!

Should be more careful what I wish for :-)

As far as our backstory goes...I'm 28, hubby is 30, we've been married for 6 years. Started trying in March... For financial reasons, as well as the fact that he hasn't been in a hurry to start having kids, as well as me having some problems with anxiety and depression thanks to some abuse in my past, we've waited until now - at times it's been a horrible wait as I've been really wanting to start a family and seems all my family and in-laws have been having them by accident or having them at an earlier stage of their relationsip because their financial situation is much better...have had some serious baby envy over the years, making me wonder how badly our friends who couldn't conceive must feel!!

Anyway, if this baby comes at 42 weeks, it might well be a 7th wedding anniversary present! It will be nice to be the one with the new baby at my in-laws family Christmas for a change :-) I'm an only child so I'm looking forward to telling my parents that they will actually be grandparents soon all going well!

As for names, I have some favourites but hubby doesn't like any of them and hasn't come up with any suggestins himself - I suspect the name might turn out to be a bit of a challenge - not many family names on either side that we like either!

Wow welcome to all the newbies, we really are getting a good group going now. I will update the list Totally agree about waiting a bit before a fb group, sounds like a great idea.

As for names Skrip we love Ruby too! And funny my Dad has the same name as you For boys we like names that are like last names eg Carter, Cooper, Hunter, Mason. Girls Ruby, Bella, Grace, Isla, Millie. I'm a teacher so lots of names are ruled out for me as I think of naughty kids lol.

As far as the intro goes DH and I are both 28. He's a farmer, i'm a school teacher. Don't want to say too much more for fear of stalkers haha.

Just added myself :)

Hopefully when I go see my GP on the 24th she also send me for my dating scan...
My last AF was on the 8th March (first day of it) it was shorter than normal but had a normal flow so I think I am only 5 weeks...but who really knows :) My cycles were screwed cos I basically came of the BCP on the last weekend of Jan...got AF about 5 days later, lasted for like a week (normal for me) and then didnt get my next AF until like 35 days or so later...so after that I had no idea when I was going to O so I just guessed from around CD12 and went from there. DP and I basically BD from about 2 days after AF finished right right up until I O'd and then it was like everynight for 2 nights break and then we moved house cos we bought our own home (another first) so much was going on in March as it was also my birthday the day before we settled onthe house...and now we're preggers...
I just didnt think it was going to happen as i was stressing and felt kinda down...and then on Thursday last week BAM! BFP so happy but again still so surreal
hurry up april 24

As this is going to be DPs parents first grandchild I thought that giving them this poem with a photo of our dating scan would be cool to tell him them that we are pregnant. Might even give it to my mum and Dad too but change first grandchild to newest grandchild

Dear Grandpa & Grandma,

I do not have a face to see,
... Or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss.
I don't yet have a name.

Not yet can you hold my tiny hands,
Nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
Or cuddle me so near.

But all that will change come this December;
When they say I am due.
I am your first grandchild;
And I can't wait until I meet you!

All I ask between now and then
Is your love for me to grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait;
Just think of all the joy we'll know!

So as you're waiting patiently,
Please pray lots of prayers for me.
I cannot wait to be a part
Of this wonderful family

Can anyone offer me any advice/recommendations on midwives on North Shore, Auckland. I had my first 2 kids in Chch and had a fantastic midwife there. Hoping to get one I'm as comfortable with here. I've booked in to see Delwyn Evans at Maternity Associates. Anyone had her? Or recommend anyone good?
Thanks

Hmmmm....midwives on North Shore I'm not sure about but I do know I would never ever recommend giving birth at NSH. I had Little Miss 2 there in Jan 2010 and they nearly made a fatal error with her birth. Not trying to scare anyone but I would hate for anyone to experience what I did.

Middle more is also out for me due to the stories in the press recently so we're aiming for Birthcare this time.

On an unrelated note, my boobs were killing me last night. I've never ever had sore boobs in early pregnancy before but I guess it's good to have some symptoms as MS appears to have gone MIA.....can't wait for my scan next week!

Welcome to all the new December mums to be!

BDTM14 - I think the idea of extended maternity leave was thrown out yesterday, bummer!

Anna, maybe Waitakere is an option for you? I've heard they're very good. You just might need a West Auckland midwife?

Quick story on me... I'm 32, this is my second bubs, though my son is 14 this year, so it feels like the first time again. This is DPs first and we're both thrilled.

Thanks

Im on the hunt for a Midwife on the North Shore as well.

sorry :)
Its a great peom though huh

Yeah Im not too sure where we will go to have baby.
Its number 1 for us so really have no idea. Same with the midwife...

The thing that is getting me all paranoid at the moment is what exactly I can and cant eat. Its so frustrating...like earlier today I had a muesli bar for a snack...and then like not too long afterwards I read that you shoulndt eat peanuts if you're preggers...
man I have had like a muesli bar each day

I also read that you should eat any forms of Hummas...I had some (not really a lot) the other night at my sisters.

I really hope that the things I have eaten dont harm my baby

Welcome Nightingale and how awesome to get a BFP so quickly!!

BDTM14 I totally get what you mean about being confused about eating. I never knew that about peanuts! But I was stressing out last night cause I found out you shouldn't drink green tea and also that if you drink it and have folic acid around the same time it can prevent the absorption of it, eeek! I had being having my elevit and green tea both at breakfast daily so i'm going to stop that But in saying that you can do your best with the eating thing and try to eat a balanced diet for baby bean

Man I feel like i've got a huge hangover today, haven't actually been sick but just feel yuck!
