Kind of a weird question, but how do you clean your bathrooms? I always find it such a chore and I keep feeling like there must be an easier more efficient way... Also do you clean it quickly once a day or a big clean once a week or so? I've been doing the "big clean" with the intention of moving on to the "quick daily clean" instead but it never seems to work out for me. Anyone have any tips/pointers?

Hehe, a daily clean is just beyond my ability to fit into the hours I have. Not a snowball's chance of that happening here

I do it once a week, or when it's looking a bit grubby. I do try and do the toilets / wipe the basin etc down when the little man is in the bath, since I have to be there supervising anyway. The actual shower itself probably gets clean less than once a week if I'm honest

Once a week for me too.
Though like Hopes I tend to neglect the shower - so much wiping!

Sadly I think it is one of those never ending chores that just doesn't go away. Like laundry.

After years of analysis I believe you cannot go past a good scub of jif in the shower. None of these shower power type products that proclaim that you can just spray and rinse off are adequate. I jif my shower once to twice a week, while I am having a shower. I also use the Selley's mould cleaner for any grout mould, it's the most awesome shower mould cleaner that I've come across.
Toilet, shower and basin get a good going over every five days or so.

I hate cleaning the bathroom, but after cleaning my shower I put rain-x on, it's like a polish for glass and makes the water bead and run off - means I don't have to clean it as often! (It's brilliant on the car windscreen in winter too).

I've been known to put car polish on the handbasin as it has the same effect and cleaning really is just a quick wipe down.

lol, all this to aid my desire for cleanliness...and laziness!

Basins/toilets/mirrors when they start looking grotty but definately at least once a week. Shower is also when it starts getting grotty but would probably be every 2 weeks or so (sometimes longer ). I clean the shower when I am in it so can't do it weekdays as I have to have a quick shower before school dropoff so have to wait until the weekend. Definately couldn't be bothered doing it every day lol!

Glad to hear it's not so common to clean every day, it just seems like too much for me with all my other motherly/housewifely duties but it seemed to come up a lot when I read online for suggestions, maybe that's for people without little ones running the show... Back in the day I used to wipe down the shower once or twice a week while I was using it but somehow got out of the habit, maybe it's a good idea to start that up again once I loose my big fat belly in a couple of months and I can actually bend down again! Or better yet have DH do it, ha. Thanks for all the responses so far, I don't feel so much like I have the most disgusting bathroom on the block because I don't scrub it down every day. :) Unfortunately it sounds like there's no magic super secret for keeping it clean easily...although the glass and car polish idea sounds interesting!

oh yeah might have to try the glass polish for the shower! our bathroom gets wiped down every day. only the basin, toilet and mirror though. I usually do it when I have finished brushing my teeth each day. DD sits on a chair in the bathroom brushing her teeth at the same time. I use anti bacterial wipes for that, just the budget ones and probably use 2 or 3 each time. Not the most enviromentally friendly but definitely easier for us!

Shower...hmm the bottom and sides gets jif maybe once a week, really only because we don't have a bath so DD sits in a little bath in the bottom of the shower so I get up close and personal with it far more often! the glass...that gets cleaned far less often.

we have a shower over the bath.
it gets sprayed with "white vingegar 1cup into rest of spray n wipe bottle full of water" after every shower.
and cleaned with jiff and a Silver lady silver cloth sponge thingy once a week after DP has a bath (bubble scum forms otherwise)

toilet - we have some of that alcoholic seat spray that we acquired from some public toilets....but wipe down daily. and toilet duck in every 7 days and new green toilet blob thingy gets stuck to bowl.

vanity/counter top - every 3 days or when we have guests around. just use the vinegar spray so its not hard as it lives in the bathroom anyway.

and I give the door handles and light switches a spray with the dettol sanitizer stuff every 2 days, or 2x daily if one of us has a tummybug or other germs

I do once a week. We have just moved to a new place with 2 bathrooms so its a right chore. I don't the duck or whatever in the loo's first thing to le it soak. Then scrub the wipe all its surfaces, wippe down basins/mirror, spray dishwashing liquid in the shower move it round a bit and rinse the sweep the floor and mop.
Always on a Monday and if I know some one is coming around after about thursday I'll just to a quick wipe and scrub of area's which they may use. Just in case. LOL

The only shower product that I have found that works is Shower Witch, it is BRILLIANT! Spray it on, leave it for 24 hours and spray off with water next time you take a shower. It really really works - I sound like an infomercial

I wipe the shower glass and tiles with a squeegee after every shower, try to shower just before DH so he has to do it
This makes the weekly clean much easier

Lucky MissJen! I wish DH would help out, but then again I suspect he'd just make it "look" clean instead of doing a thorough cleaning... I'm actually liking SophieD's idea of using antibacterial wipes everyday for a quick wipe down, but they're not something we tend to buy in our household. I wonder if you can make your own somehow?

We have 2 bathrooms too, I almost miss having only one. DS is the only one that uses the main bathroom and that's just for his baths so it doesn't get too dirty yet... Usually DH or my mum gives him a bath so maybe I should put them on cleaning duty in there while they're just sitting around supervising.
