DS is 19months and is in day care. At day care he sleeps beautifully, down after lunch at around 11:30am and sleeps for 2 - 3 hrs! However at home for me he only EVER sleeps for 1hr 15mins!!!

The problem is when he wakes, he is super cranky!!! Not a happy camper at all. When it's fine I throw him in the buggy and he goes back to sleep in there but that's not always practical.

Anyone else have a bub that only sleeps for this long during the day (it's just the one sleep that he has) or have any tips on how to lengthen it so that he's happy and well rested when he wakes?

Hmmm my 22 month went through a phase like this, and it just sorted itself out, or has this being going on for a long time? All I can suggest is perhaps darkening his room some more, and putting on some sort of white noise (radio or fan or something) as he is probably used to all the noise around him at daycare which might have a lulling effect.

DS sleeps a 1hr15min for every day sleep, occassionally he'll wake up upset and we'll just cuddle up for about half an hour and read some stories quietly until he is ready to get up.

Could you find out what it's like at daycare for his sleeps and try to replicate that at home. Seems strange that he does sleep such long sleeps there, but not at home
