Hello...has anyone got a baby with a crooked skull or flat spot or tendency to go favour one side when sleeping or on tummy time? I went to Chiropractor today with Blake and he said that Blakes neck was out and some of his bits down his back. But it was going to take about 4-5 weeks of really little manipulations to come right.
Apparently because of these things being out..it can cause reflux and Colic and stuff like that because of where all the nerve endgins and what not are! All very technical...However it was going to be $34 a session 3 times a week. Right now we cant afford that moving and all. Soooooo I ended up going to this other lady this afternoon who is free, was recommended and has 6000 patients and does some kind gentle Therapeutic Manipulation which is not Osteo or Chiropractic ...Blake has been a bit more settled today already ...She was free too for kiddies under 6.
So yes going to see how we go with her for a few sessions. She showed me how to correctly quickly burp him and also how to get rid of any wind in his bowels..Was great!!!
So that was interesting. Great if it works and stays working aye!!!

$34 per session 3 times per week? OUCH!! That would hurt the pocket for sure!

I'm glad you found an alternative and it sounds great!!

Maddie seems to move her head around a bit in her sleep and we tend to move it if she seems to have been favouring one side so fingers crossed for no flat spots here! I'm thinking of buying a head wedge.

Madison was born with a flat spot on her left side it was caused by the way she was lieing in my stomach as she was a foot breech and her head was right in my ribs. We had to only let her sleep on her right side or on her back for the first 3 months and it has slowy got better since she has control of her head but still tends to use her left hand etc more than her right but plunket said she should grow out of it but she said it is common.

For a while Zaara had flat spots on both side of her skull....so made sure that when ever she slept her head was straight and she wasnt sleeping with head on either sides. Zaara has a nice and round head now. Dont know if it because I made her sleep straight or that it just fixed it self!???

Good on you for getting a second (cheaper) opinion. Here is hoping your little cutie gets better....

Roksana - once they start crawling it seems to work itself out. Han had a bit of a flat spot on the back (which was paired with a charming bald patch) and once she held her head up more it rounded out

Glad it seemed to help Blake. Maya had flat landing strips down both sides of her head, but I think she just has her Daddy's odd-shaped head

I am thinking about taking Sienna to a chiro tho, not that she is unsettled or anything, just that because her head was flexed at birth I'm a bit worried she might have done herself some damage there.

We take Caitlin to the Chiro as well (prolonged second stage labour/head to one side/vontuese etc etc). We started with weekly appointments (certainly NOT 3 times a week! )
We're now at monthly visits which cost us $30 a session.

Our Chiro lady said that she shouldn't see Caitlin too often as it can take a few days to settle the spine down after a manipulation.
The sessions are also helping with her consitpation probs
