I'm wanting to use a sling for baby#2 so I can have hands free when I'm out and about with my 3yr old. We already have an ergo which DH wears but I find uncomfortable with the straps. Also have a moby but I never quite got the hang of it and wondered if there were other simple fabric style slings that were easier with a newborn/young baby. Are Mei Tai's any easier? My preference would be for one that carried the baby upright on my chest, not lying down.
Would love any recommendations

Mei tai is way easier than say the moby but maybe just more practise with the moby as people swear by them, I didnt like all the fabric, so the mei tai was better for me, Ive bought a manduca for baby 2 so probably wont use the mei tai much

I use an ergo, but also have a D&Z sling which is great, small enough to biff in the nappy bag, great for travelling. It isn;t great in the NB position as I have long babies, but as soon as they are ok to sit on your hip, its good

Check out www.slingbabies.co.nz - Slingbabies . for different types.

For newborn I'd recommend getting some help with the moby. Once you do get the hang of it they are worth their weight in gold ! Plus you can pre tie and just pop baby in when you get to your destination.

There are quite a few sling groups in different regions now whereabouts are you ?

Thanks everyone :)
Squoggs I also have the D&Z sling too (too many already perhaps!) and found that great for on the hip when they're older

Sling groups sound interesting Pudgy, I'm in Lower Hutt just out of Wgtn. D
