We are moving in a couple of weeks. Ethan will be two months old.

Does anyone have any tips to make the move as smooth and unsettling for Ethan as possible.

I'd be interested to hear some tips as well...we're moving in 3 weeks so Maddie will be 6 weeks old...it's only a move of around 20 metres to the front house on the section but still.

We thought maybe move Maddie's room first and get that fully set up so that she will be a little more settled?

we moved when mikey was 5 months old so he was quite a bit older. basically i just kept giving him heaps of attention and playing with him in between packing and kept to his routine as much as possible and he didn't really seem to notice the move, he settled in really well.

I moved when Han was 3 months and she seriously didn't notice. And it was GREAT because she slept lots so I didn't have to worry about controlling her while moving (I also moved when Han was 15 months Now that was hard!)

Maybe for the first few nights put in an item of your clothing with her when she goes to sleep. Then she'll be able to smell something familiar.

Oh, and remember to stay as calm as possible when you are putting them to bed. They pick up on stress, and that includes the stress involved with moving! So take your time with the bedtime routine and stay relaxed

Get heaps of people to help with the move so you can be with your baby the whole time. I would set the babies room up first and then at least they can be settled into bed if needed. If they are attached to something already don't pack it away keep it with the baby the whole time.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
