Hi guys. In tears yet again because - despite being told by my doctor at our appt a month ago and his nurse when I rang the clinic this past Saturday - I am still not on the IVF waiting list!

Got a letter today, which I thought was going to say we were on the list and give us an idea of the wait time, instead it says we are not on the list and will not be added to any waiting lists until we have filled out the enclosed forms and done CD2-3 blood tests (I'm CD4 today, and my last cycle was 50+ days).

I've been waiting for this letter for a month, thinking all the while that I was on the list and the letter was just to confirm it.

I'm heartbroken right now. I feel like I've been lied to for the millionth time and I really don't know what to do. (Besides fill out the stupid forms and wait for the next lie.)

Sorry for the big woe-is-me post, but if anyones been through this maybe you could offer some advise. I really need some right now.

Oh honey.... I don't have any advice I just wanted to say that I am really sorry to hear how this has played out for you. It really seems so terribly unfair. I don't know what else to say other than I hope someone else has some helpful advice for you. Thinking of you and hoping this is the very last bump on the road to your BFP.

Okay, feeling a bit better now. Thanks for your comments Maju.

Sent an email to my doctor last night and had a response first thing this morning. He assures me we are on the waiting list and it dates from our consultation a month ago. He says the paperwork is just a formality, and if I can do the blood test today (CD5) it should be fine.

Huge relief! Now I gotta go get dressed so I can get my bloods done before work.

What I found helpful is ringing to check up on things as it is so easy to get lost in the system. I had to lose 40kg before I could get on the waiting list - so once I lost the weight I made sure that they had received notification of this to make sure I was then added to the list and then rang them periodically to see how the list was progressing - then there were funding issues etc... and we started receiving bills when we were publically funded. It really helps to have one person to ring to get the same story every time - we always contacted the lady responsible for the funding/bills so we got consistency if this helps

Is there a central place that looks after the list? We've been paying for private consults from fa but have been allocated to fertility plus for public ivf. Don't even have a contact at fert plus yet.

Hoping i get a confirmation letter from fert plus soon.

Did you get a letter? How long did it take to come through?
