Hey! - BEWARE RANT/VENT AHEAD Ever since we had Mr2 in 09' I have wanted another baby, we wanted to be in a better position financially (I know everyone says that) and finally we are nearly there! Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely loved having all this time with Mr2 and wouldn't change it for the world but I'm a super clucky girl! We can start trying for number 2 anytime - and I am so super excited but there is only one thing that is holding me back. I have a self imposed weight I want to get to before we start trying. That might sound silly but I am very overweight (like 40-50kg) and after going through the first pregnancy at this same weight I really do not want to do it again. It is 100% a choice that I am making and its not a problem that could ever be compared to real fertility issues - but to me it's so real and it is actually really upsetting. I am so pi**ed off for not losing weight sooner!!! I am so mad at myself and even worse the fact I'm finding it so difficult to do anything about it now! I'm not looking for diet advice, I'm not interested in quick fixes or fad diets, I just really needed to get this out because I don't feel like I can talk about it openly with anyone - and I'm sure DP is sick of hearing it. Reality is that I'm still young and I have a lot of time to get pregnant, but I wish we could be trying now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a pregnant SIL and 2 other SILS who have just announced they are trying and I am so happy for them all but at the same time soooo jelous and a little bit hurt. I feel like an idiot!! PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO EVER FEELS LIKE THIS!

I can't speak from experience, but I suspect you're not alone in feeling this way 
I guess what you need to do is weigh up what will make you happier; losing weight then TTC for #2 or TTC now while working on the weight loss and "risk" falling pregnant before you get to your goal. Good luck -------------

sweets - definitely not alone hun, I'm on this very mission myself at the moment. 6kg down and only 45kg to go  . I desperately want number 2, but after the PET/HELLP of last pregnancy, I am determined to be as healthy as I can be before we go there again. So my mission is to do it this year so that next year we can get pregnant again. Frustrating though hey!?!! -------------

Girly_girl; good on you for losing 6kg! That is awesome. I am looking at the same timeline. I want to get down to at least 100kg before we start trying & feel like I can only imagine that I would feel a lot better with 25kg less to carry around. |

You are not at all alone. I worked so hard to lose weight before my last pregnancy as didn't want to be as big as I was with the first. Ended up being 6kg lighter at the beginning and kept so much fitter and healthier during the pregnancy. Unfortnately I ended with the complications at the end in the form of PET/HELLP even though I had taken better care of myself.
It is a really hard decision to makes and it does get frustrating when you can't quite seem to find the motivation to get started either. Vent away cos that is what you need to do sometimes ------------- http://lilypie.com" rel="nofollow">

Won't lie, but the No Sugar thing on Sunday last week gave me a small glimmer of hope. Even though I'm 'against' all diet fads, I'm giving it a bit of a go - just to see if there is actually anything behind it! |
