DD1 decided yesterday avo that she would like to use the potty - totally unprompted and out of the blue so very proud mummy here So looks like we will be starting daytime toilet training - eek!

It got me thinking about further down the track - night time toilet training. Our toilet is not really the best for her to take herself to at night if she needed to go for various reasons, the whole set up could be a bit of an issue and not something we could alter to 'fix'.
What do you do in that case?

ETA there is a good chance we will be moving halfway through next year which could solve the problem (if we were to shift to a better house), but I guess that depends if she night time toilet trains before then. When do they usually do that (I know if varies hugely, but roughly)?

at this stage I wouldn't worry too much about the night time TT......as she is still quite young it will probably be a while before its an issue. DD was TT at 2y3m but wasn't night TT until 4 1/4.

If it does become an issue you could always put a potty in the bathroom for night time?

Yea, definitely not going anywhere near that until she is well ready - more curious as to how to deal with the annoying toilet set up when the time comes. Potty in the bathroom sounds like a good idea though

DD TT'd at just over 2 but is still not night time TT. She has a potty next to her bed in her room because the closest toilet to her room is in the bathroom that you have to go through my room to get to. She won't go to the toilet at night by herself anyway (or the potty) but she often uses the potty by her bed first thing in the morning.

DS1 used to come and get me for quite a long time to take him to the toilet at night, still does on occasion and he has just turned 4 (TT for about a year now). Might be that you encourage that.

The main thing I hated about the potty is it getting accidentally knocked over. If you do put the potty in the bathroom make sure it is well out of the way so you or DH don't kick it over in the middle of the night.

DS was toilet trained in four days. November last year and we have had four accidents since. Still has a change form undewrwear to a diaper when he has his nap but it is usually dry and he goes to the toiket straight after he is awake. Not too fussed about the night TT, he is still 2.5yrs
