Hey Girls, I'm 26 weeks along with our first, and am the same as you BDTM - I fell pregnant after trying for 2 months, came as quite a surprise, it took me a good couple of months to get used to it all, but am over the moon now, and can't wait to meet bub!

Yip, I'm all new to this (you might have already seen me on the Dec 12 babies forum). Gobsmacked as after we'd been trying for not much more than a week, I had breast enlargement and nausea. (I knew I was ovulating the day after we started tryiing, hubby randomly decided we should start trying then - does he have good timing or what? LOL) Within two weeks after that I'd seen my GP, had blood tests, and found a midwife, it's been crazy...and despite all that, still no guarantee for a few more weeks that there is even a heartbeat!

As this is going to be DPs parents first grandchild I thought that giving them this poem with a photo of our dating scan would be cool to tell him them that we are pregnant. Might even give it to my mum and Dad too but change first grandchild to newest grandchild
Dear Grandpa & Grandma,
I do not have a face to see,
... Or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss.
I don't yet have a name.
Not yet can you hold my tiny hands,
Nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
Or cuddle me so near.
But all that will change come this December;
When they say I am due.
I am your first grandchild;
And I can't wait until I meet you!
All I ask between now and then
Is your love for me to grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait;
Just think of all the joy we'll know!
So as you're waiting patiently,
Please pray lots of prayers for me.
I cannot wait to be a part
Of this wonderful family

My GP and then midwife both gave me a leaflet about food safety and nutrition - you can download them here:
http://www.foodsmart.govt.nz/information-for/pregnant-women/
Both booklets are downloadable on the menu to the right on this page.
I read through it a few times and am finding myself stopping to think a lot but particularly when eating out especially as I can't stop and say to my in-laws: I'm pregnant, did you wash your salad ingredients well?!
Some of the advice can be contradictory which makes it confusing - I've found a lot of people also adding to the MOH guidelines in those booklets with a whole lot of extra stuff - like some people say don't eat Subway because the salads are sitting around, while the American Pregnancy Association says make sure meat in your Subway is heated properly...
http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/listeria.html
I don't know if I've got a handle on it all yet myself! Depends how paranoid you are a bit too.
The definites seem to be mostly about avoiding listeria - particularly wash raw foods well, don't leave out, reheat leftover meat well and use quickly, cook meat well, don't eat unpasteurised dairy...
As far as cleaning products, cosmetics, etc, I'm not sure...but I work in a lab so will be sure checking all those MSDSs!

Food? I just use my common sense.. I dont eat subway normally anyway so no biggie for me. Its like deli meats - you want to avoid them. Otherwise, i check use by dates, eat food that been opened within a few days.. I dont listen so much the moh. Sure, i read the leftlet, but alot of the things there they were warning about are non applicable with most new zealand products (ie the soft cheeses)
Also, one piece of advice someone gave me was if you have been eating at a particular shop and have never had issues and you trust them, then there's no reason to stop eating there because you're pregnant.

Yeah I'm trying not to be too paranoid - I trust Subway's food safety better than my own in terms of salads.
I have the advantage of not taking a whole lot of notice about the meats because I'm vegetarian - I'm just stewing about my protein, iron, calcium, B12 intake and so forth instead!
I've heard the peanut thing too but some sources say there's no real evidence that avoiding foods in case of allergies is beneficial, others say it depends on your allergy family history and how likely your baby is to develop allergies - there seem to be so many no-no's out there with varying degrees of actual evidence. I LOVE peanut butter and am carrying on eating it, although the morning sickness didn't mesh well with it this morning!
But yeah best do your own reading and talking to your LMC or GP about it if in doubt.
I think we just try to be sensible as you say and do the best we can, probably more likely to get hit by a bus while pregnant than contract listeria AND have it affect the baby. Then there are the people who don't know they're pregnant for ages and make no changes whatsoever for the whole first trimester and things turn out fine.
I read somewhere that after you find out you're pregnant suddenly daily life can feel like a minefield...I've felt a bit like that the last few weeks but I have a tendency towards anxiety and paranoia so I'm trying to be sensible :-) The minefield feeling is wearing off :-)

yeah I think I need to just ease up a bit and not get so paraniod about the foods..I can't help it sometimes though you know
Like DP and I are heading out for dinner to a restaurant on Sat night and its like well what can I eat cos I dont know when they would have prepared some of the foods they cook. I think it will be okay though. We're heading to Vivace in town

Hey ladies,
It's such a minefield being pregnant for the first time! I don't really know what I'm supposed to do or at what stage. I'm only 9 weeks so haven't had a proper scan yet - that comes on Friday
Have been getting ms - all day nausea and now I've been throwing up in the mornings - not ideal when you're trying to hide it from your boss!
Does anyone know of any good mw's in ChCh now post earthquakes? My list from my GP is from 2010 and is now sooo out of date!

Hey there
I will ask the ladies in my Due in Dec group as a couple of them are in ChCh.
I know what you mean about not knowing what to do and when I am exactly the same. I feel like I am all over the place.
Ive got my dating scan on Tuesday next week (I'll be just over 6 week almost 7). Meeting with 1 MW on the Wednesday and another one the following week. But I think I will go with the first lady as she sounded so much niceer and I know I felt a better connection with her on the phone.
I am also looking into Antenatal classes as well as I ahve heard that they book up really early. But will wait until I spw the MW as she might have something sorted or know of classes that I can do

definitely get onto the antenatal classes, i almost missed out and i phoned at about 8 weeks pregnant! even if your MW does have something organised that way you can at least call back and cancel your spot in the class if need be they will probably have people on a waitlist so don't worry about cancelling! we are in the middle of our 8 weeks worth of classes and it has been awesome. well worth attending

I know, it is coming round sooo fast. I've been really lucky, not much to complain about for me. Had MS til about 15 weeks, but was only vomiting every other day roughly so could have been worse! Just starting to get really uncomfortable the last couple of days, baby must be dropping into my pelvis. So painful at times!
I had an inkling I was UTD, but still couldn't really believe it when the two lines came up. It was our first cycle of trying and we didn't really do the deed anywhere near to when I would have been ovulating so this bubba must have been really keen to be here! Were you trying long before you fell pregnant?

Hey all!
I just took my first home test this morning, and it turned up positive straight away! Woooo!
My hubs and I only just decided to start trying and were lucky on the first go!
So, now, due the end of December with this our first and I'm feeling a little lost as to the next steps to take. It's all so overwhelming since it all happened so quickly!

First timer here too! I'm 27yo, DH and I have been TTC for two months, and test was BFP straight away, no waiting - two very dark lines, couldn't believe it! (Literally. I was sure I'd read it wrong, and kept re-reading the instructions to see how I'd misread them!)
AF was only due yesterday and can be pretty irregular, but this afternoon I got impatient and took a test - BFP! Very surreal at the moment, neither DH nor I know how to react, but already excited too.
What's the next step after this? Doctor appointment? When? (I'm going to take another test in a week to make sure I'm still UTD, have heard so much about chemical pregnancies I'm worried it's one of them.)
I'm taking prescription allergy meds atm... doctor knows we've been TTC and said the meds were OK while TTC, but if I am UTD I'd like to consult her to make sure they're still OK!
Really really hoping it's not going to turn out to be a chemical pregnancy....
Congrats to all the other first-timers! It's all so exciting.

Hi all, i'm new to the forum.
This is our first pregency I'm currently just under 16 weeks. Due 17 October.
I'm excited and scared and a lot of other emotions have been felt.
Regarding someones ealier posts about food. I've just been following common sense and must of the guidelines are based around standard food hyginene that everyone should follow anyway. You will find that the food standards for pregency differ from country to country. I've also been eating peanut butter and most nuts. I haven't read you shouldn't eat peanuts I'm sure I read some that suggested peanut butter on toast was a good snack.
We're decided we'll want until baby arrives to find out what we're having.
Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Will be good to talk to other people in the same space.

Just did test 1 day after period due and it's positive and I am feeling this is surreal - my husband and I only just started trying!! I don't know what all the acronyms on these forums mean :( I am meant to be going on holiday in 2 weeks to Asia! Will that be ok?. Really dont believe this is real.... Been reading stuff on here about food and hair dying, eek! I just ate a load of peanuts, and had a beer last night, and have a hair dying appointment in 4 weeks! Let the indecision and Mother-guilt begin! Can't believe any of this really :) lots of my friends have had miscarriages, so prob wont believe it until at least after 12 weeks....

It is a pretty surreal feeling :)
I'm just on 17weeks now, waiting for the first 'flutter'...at least I THINK I'm still waiting, it's hard to know if the normal tummy rumblings are just my belly or bubby!
In my opinion, if you worry too much about what you should and shouldn't do during pregnancy, you'll stress yourself sick.
I've just been sticking to the main preggy tips like
•Washing salads and no deli or chilled meats(unless you have prepared it yourself) cause of listeria.
•No alcohol/smoking(second-hand smoking).
•Check all meds are safe during preg/breastfeeding
Other than that, I've just rested when I felt tired, ate what my body told me it wanted, colored my hair, painted my nails and tried to stay as stress free as poss.
This has been the most amazing experiences of my life, I loooove being pregnant :)

It wasn't untill about 6 weeks preg that I started to feel really tired. You'll be fine to travel.
Youvegotmail: next thing you should do is book in a doc appt and they will do some tests and things.
I'm similar to appleseed have just been following standard food hygine which everyone should follow anyway. eg if have poached eggs I just make sure the yoke is not runny.

DH and I caught up with some friends on Saturday night and we told them I news and found out that they are also preggie about 3 weeks behind us. Will be nice to also have some close friends going through the samething as us. I was jealous when she said that her morning sickness had been really mild and mainly she just felt sick esp when I'm still being sick.

Hey Everyone! I am another first-timer. Am 25 yrs old, been married 4 years, and have just hit 15 wks preggo. Pretty darn excited. Has anyone else noticed the 'baby brain' come on in full force? Feels like my short term memory has totally disintegrated. And I keep putting things in strange places and then having to look for them for days!
I don't have many friends who are pregnant, so pretty keen to find other people out there who are at a similar stage as me. :)

I didn't know about that, will have to try that out. I love free stuff.
I'm similar to you, don't really know many ppl that have young kiddies or are preg. I've also noticed that my friends have stopped inviting me to evenings out things even though everything I've been invited to I've gone, only difference is i'm not drinking.
I'm very scared about being on maternity leave and being home by myself.

Maybe you need to say something to your friends? A good coffee group and support of other young mums will probably help you with being at home alone once baby is born. I think often coffee groups are organised through antenatal classes. Or else you could post on here and try and find people in your area?

I know when I found out my bestie was pregnant(she was the 1st of my frends), of course I was ecstatic for her, but there was also a part of me that was scared that now she was going to be a Mother, I assumed she would have more important things to do than hang out with me. Of course I was wrong, we are just as close as before, but I think a lot of friends feel similar when one of the group is going through this life changing event. The best thing I would recommend is to talk to your friends and let them know you most definately still want them in your life and if you lose a couple along the way....eff em, hahahahaha you'll gain plenty more :)

Hi all, just found this group and thought I'd chip in :) First time biological mummy, have a 3 1/2 year old step son, so I know what to do once little one hits 3!!
I'm 20 weeks with a little girl, and I'm 21 years. Hardest part for me is only having one friend with children, and a lot of friends not understanding why I'm so tired, or can't eat certain things. As appleseed said, you lose a couple along the way, but you quickly learn who's worth keeping around.
Travel - I flew to Aussie at 9 weeks and it was fine, just walk around heaps and check the expiry date on the food! I was given something that had expired the day before, and then something with feta butas soon as I told them I was pregnant, I had 2 hostesses running all over the show finding me something I could eat!
Most midwives give you the reachme pack at your first appointment anyway.
Food.. I was VERY particular in the first trimester, but have gotten a little naughty with some things and haven't been caught out just yet. As some of you have said, its just about being sensible.
Congrats to everyone on their little lives growing inside them and expanding bellies!!

Oh and in regards to peanuts, what I learnt in my childbearing class (I'm a nursing student) is that if there's a risk of a peanut allergy, ie family history, then avoiding them in pregnancy lowers the risk of baby developing an allegy :)

I've read a lot of things about the avoiding peanuts ie allergy but it becomes very confusing when no one can actually prove either way that avoiding them or having them lowers the risk.

Thanks so much for all the comforting info on food and travel etc, am feeling a bit calmer now :). Had doctors apt today and got pregnancy confirmed with urine test and then it was like overwhelm with info! Thanks goodness I had already got most of the info from oh baby first! Then it's booking in for bloods, scan, another doctors apt, and contacting midwife - crickey! No wonder we ge tired! :) and all this is quite hard to do without telling peopel where you are!
I did ask my doctor about travel though, and she said she did not recommend it :(. Am not happy about this advice and it is quite different from what I have read elsewhere and seen with friends, so am going to talk it over with hubby tonight.... I will be travelling week 7 and 8....

Oh that's a shame! I haven't heard anywhere else that you can't travel in the first trimester - maybe she's being a bit over-cautious? I'd have thought it would be fine. I've heard there can be problems with sitting down for very long periods though - maybe if you just make sure to get up and move around every hour or so on the flight?

@Maxine (or anyone who's had a reachme.co.nz free pack): What kind of packaging do the packs come in? I was going to get one sent to my work but not keen on a big pink parcel with "pregnancy pack" plastered over it in big letters, or anything like that... is it discreet packaging or something best sent to home?

I got mine through MW but its just a small book with samples so probably just comes in a plain envelope.

Hi all!
Im 22 and just found out a week ago im pregnant with my first child.. im roughly around 5-6weeks i think but will find out in my scan next week. I've just been trying to do some research and found this group :)
One thing im having issues with already is morning sickness! Does anyone have any good advice? I've tried Sea Bands but they do nothing for me :( the doctor has also given me Metamide and Allersoothe but they also don't work.
Of course because im so early and haven't had the scan to make sure everythings ok yet im still trying to keep it a secret but its becoming hard when i struggle to get out of bed to go to work and once there am constantly dry reaching :(.. any advice would be amazing!! :)

Hi JaxxK, congrats!!
Marmite toast worked wonders for me, but then it might make your morning sickness worse haha. Plus, trying to find marmite now...
Everyone has different cures so just try different foods until you find something that soothes it. I ended up taking metaclopromide as I kept missing work from MS, but that should really be a last resort.
Maybe dry crackers? Someone told me to have some chocolate before you go to bed at night or about 4am but personally I thought it made stuff all difference. Peppermint tea helps with nausea and is safe in pregnancy.
Hope you find something that works for you! :)

JaxxK congrats,
I just tried to eat small amounts of food on a regular basis. I struggled to drink water and had to have fruit syrup added to stay hydrated. In the end I'd have 1 or 2 pieces of toast with honey / jam on them(this always came up) and then I'd have another breakfast at work usually museil and yoghurt this seemed to stay down. I also would suck on lots of barley sugars to keep my blood sugar up. But just sticked to plain foods. As Rexy said you almost have to try stuff and see if it stays down. I'm now just over 17 weeks and about once or twice a week breakfast will still come up. Oh I also had ginger nuts in my draw at work. Also if you work inside try to get out for fresh air this helps.

Hey JaxxK, I've just started reading the jacqui brown preggy book, and there's a whole bunch of MS remedies to try....eating regular small meals, upping vitamin B6(check with midwife for dose), carry a cloth with essential oils like peppermint/grapefruit/lavender,sucking sour lollies, keep hydrated and even having an orgasm.....tho not sure how 'in the mood' you would feel at the moment :/
I was one of the lucky ones to not go through this, but I have had enough 'green' girlfriends to get some idea how horrible and annoying 'all day sickness' can be, hope some of those tips help a lil.
My question is, are any 1st timers out there driving themselves crazy waiting for the 1st flutters??!?
I'm just over 17weeks now and ever since my MW told me I should start to feel something this month, I feel like I'm making myself imagine things! Mind you, was lying on my belly on the bed the other day. Pretty sure I felt something.......I think? ARGH!! Hahahahaha

appleseed I think i'm just a few days behind you. I haven't really been thinking about the flutters, I think when I feel one for the first time I'll probably get freaked out. I've started getting the the point (which my midwife said would happen) where the MS has almost stopped and haven't felt anything so sometimes I do worry that I hope our little one is ok. I'm looking forward to my midwife appt next Friday when I'll get to hear the heart beat. I also haven't gotten that big yet and hardly show so sometimes I wonder if spud (my DH has called it this)is in there.
I hope you get to feel flutters soon. You will have to post what it feels like.

i think im past the shock now and starting to get more excited although im holding out until monday afternoon for my dating scan and to check everything is ok.
MS wasn't so bad this morning, ate super wine biscuits before i got out of bed and made sure i had a few small meals all day so my tumi was full and it seems to have done the trick i go back to work tomorrow so fingers crossed babys still growing and my MS won't make a horrible return!

JaxxK don't worry baby will still grow even if you loose weight due to the MS. I lost about 3 kgs in the first few weeks.

Sounds similar to me, I'm only just starting to show but can only tell it's a baby bump if you know.
I heard the heart beat at 14 weeks, the little one kept moving whenever my midwife got the heart beat.

Also first timer approx 7 weeks, finding the nausea very intence and tiredness has set in well, is anyone else finding that smells are extremely intence and making you feel I'll? Any advice would be great as I'm extremely nervous and haven't had great health in past... Thanks in advance lovely mummies :)

part of the morning sickness deal im afraid 1stimeclo, it should ease after about 14 weeks - which will seem like a lifetime away. I've had bad health in the past but amazingly, this baby seems to be the one thing I'm doing right, so may be the same thing for you. :)
Wombles - it's scary isn't it? I've been given a whole lot of clothes from newborn to 1 and jeez its tiny! I think its more scary when you actually hold the clothes to your belly and realise something that will fit those is inside you!

Got a very special gift this morning, my 1st definate nudge!!!
Hadn't been sure the last few days as to whether I was imagining 'flutters'. But this morning after breakfast, no 'flutter' but what I would call a gentle headbutt :)
Was amazing!!! I'm 18weeks today so looking forward to my lil one saying hello more often!

yay appleseed you must be really excitied feeling movements. I'm a bit nervous about that happening.
I had my first big emotional breakdown on Saturday and it lasted through to Sunday, it wasn't great timing as we were going to the inlaws for a big family dinner, I really didnt' want to have to go. I in the end I just tried to pretend that everything was fine and answer all the pregancy questions it was so hard as my MIL won't let me do anything and already treats my like I need to rest all the time. Just as we were leaving she started talking about bassinets and I just broke down in tears.
After my big moments yesterday morning I decided I walk to where DH was playing hockey so had a great 35min walk and then got a ride home with him. We had a lovely aftenoon yesterday where we went and looked at a house and went and had a coffee afterwards.
Oh and I brought maternity jeans I have to say they are the best thing ever. It's like wearing trackpants but I look great in them

thats no good Wombles :( glad you managed to cheer yourself up with a nice afternoon out. Those breakdowns are horrible. Is MIL always overbearing or just worried about her future grandchild? Sounds like she's just very excited but I know it can get too much, especially when it feels like its always about baby and not about you anymore. Do you get on well with her? Might be good to sit down and have a chat with her if you do.
I'm playing homemaker at the moment so if you feel like a rant or a chat, I'm around :) I check the forum everyday. (yeah, no life anymore haha)
I'm with you on the maternity jeans though! I live in mine now, they are amazing.
Appleseed - its so exciting isnt it? Especially on mothers day :) I find them so comforting, just like she's letting me know she's doing well. Though, after the MW uses the doppler, I get a nice big kick in the liver and thats not so nice.
I had my first Braxton Hicks contraction yesterday! Rang my Mum all worried because my abdo was completely hard, and I was terrified I was going into labour... but good thing about Mums, they've done it all before and can calm you down and set you straight :)

I wouldn't recommend it being sent to your work. I got mine today, a cardboard box (full of samples etc SO exciting :D) and on the front it says "Pregnancy Pack"

Thanks Rexy,
I get along with my MIL, she has no daughters so she loves having a daughter inlaw. I just sometimes struggle because my MIL and my mother are both very different types of mothers. My mum fusses less and just lets us sort ourselves our, where as my MIL likes to fuss over her children. It's also that thing where I can tell my mum off but can't be that straight to the point with MIL.
It's also hard because I'm a very independent person and like to do everything myself. I should probably find sometime to catch up with her one weekend go out for a girly lunch or something.
Thanks everyone for letting me rant on here. I don't really like talking about my pregancy with everyone (I was the same when we were planning our wedding) so it's great to have people I can talk to about this and they are going through the same thing.

They didn't do much when I went to the doc at 5 weeks just took my BP and gave me an info pack including info on the 1st trimester screening. The nurse just took bloods. There isn't a lot they can do at that early stage. I didn't have a dating scan because I knew when my last period was so it wasn't until 12 weeks when I had the 1st trimester screening that it all became real.
Just look after yourself and relax when you can

Look after yourself :)

Hey Wombles, its hard to think, sunday was the 1st obvious nudge but I havnt felt too much since then.
Before Sunday there was nothing that really registered as a flutter, just normal tummy rumblings etc... But who knows, maybe it was my lil one? So Ild say bang on 18weeks.
But dont fret, its completely normal to not feel anything till about 18-22weeks, I guess where the placenta is sitting has something to do with it aswell?
:)

Thanks Appleseed, I'm just getting to the stage (my midwife said it happens) where the morning sickness has almost gone away and I haven't felt anything so get a bit worried something has happend to the little one. I've got my midwife appointment tomorow morning so i'm hoping to get to hear the heart beat again and that will put my mind to rest.
I think when we got our 12 wk scan the radiographer said my placenta was sitting further back which is probably why I haven't felt anything.
The flutters I dont' think I'll end up feeling them I'm like you I think it's one but then it's probably just that i'm hungry. (or maybe the little one is hungry)
We booked in antenatal classes yesterday glad that's all sorted, they are going to finish 3 weeks before our due date so hopefully that means everything is fresh in my mind (or DH's mind).

I had my midwife appointment on Friday her comments were "you have definetly grown". Got to hear baby's heart beat it was so strong, that made me feel heaps better. I started to feel little movements on Saturday I think I was feeling them earlier but I just throught they were cramps and twings but MW said they would be little movements (baby seems to get really active whem I'm in the shower). I'm starting to actually look pregnant now
I was looking at clothes on pumkin patch website last night and all the little hats are so darn cute I love the ones with this ears.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Thats so exciting wombles!!!
Must be such a great feeling now that you can feel bubs moving. I wonder if its the sound or the heat of the shower that sets them of...
I had a good weekend still getting cramps like my periods coming but they have settled down a lot.
The ALL DAY sickness has kicked in and the sore breast's now.
Am 6weeks now so thought I will wait another week or so then organise a midwife. my next period would be due the 4-jun so thought I will get through this first.
How is every one else feeling?

how exciting wombles! I think mine started out like that too. And yay about starting to look pregnant!
April05 - I had those cramps too, and they scared the hell out of me, but its usually just your uterus stretching. Have you found anything that helps the sickness? Hope it doesnt last too long for you. Just think of getting to the fun stage of ultrasounds and movements and the baby at the end of it :D Don't know if you've seen it but theres a page on here recommending midwives in most areas, if you didnt have one in mind.
Off to the midwives today, the highlight of my month is listening to that heartbeat. I have it recorded on my phone for when I get too impatient. Suppose its time to book the dreaded glucose tolerance test and start talking birth plans.. ugh. Then, time to paint a giant Wiggles canvas.. fingers crossed it turns out ok!
Keep well everyone!

You sound very arty, good luck with painting the giant canvas. You will have to upload a pic to show us all how it turns out.
That's a good idea recording the heartbeat on your phone. DH couldn't come to the MW appt and I think he was a little disapointed he didn't get to hear the heartbeat.

Hi all...its been a while since I have been on here so I thought I would drop in and say hello.
I can't believe in just under two weeks I get to have my 12 week scan and get to see Pea (bubs) again. I so cant wait. DP still doesnt want to tell his parents yet as he wasnt to wait so that we can give them a picture. whereas I just want to tell them.
I told a few girlfriends over the weekend. I just coulndt help myself...They came over to our place to watch The Help (good movie BTW).
and we were talking about babies and how there have been lots of boys been born lately...and that its about time that a girl comes along...so I said. "WELL...come this December there might just be a little girl come into this world"
The look on their faces were great :)

Hi all, may I join in? First baby, due 22nd Sept - also a girl, Rexy! I'm feeling thoroughly bumpy and grumpy, and a bit lonely - moved over from the UK 3 years ago, and most of my close friends with any interest in babies (plus my mum!) are on the other side of the world. Fortunately my husband is lovely (despite my grump) but I've still got the fear at the moment!

Yay another 22nd Baby!! Welcome pinpan :)
I'm the same too, driving my partner batty with baby talk and mood swings. Glad I'm not the only one!
You're not the only one with the fear!
Had a lady comment the other day that I'm hiding my bump very well, and she would have just thought I still had the baby weight from the last one! The look on her face when I said it was my first was priceless! That being said, I was quite offended, especially as I'm rather proud of my bump, which seems huge to me.
Fingers crossed for pink then BDTM14 :) The 12 week scan is awesome, it actually looks like a baby, unlike the blob at the dating scan.
Wombles - attempting to be arty is more like! Will put up the photo when its done! Its my neices 2nd birthday soon and she LOVES the wiggles, so thought it would make a nice addition to her room.
