We're looking at car seats, particularly for an infant capsule that will clip into stroller wheels. Has anyone used the Optimum? Can't find any reviews on the net, but I can see OhBaby gave one away in the competition in April, so someone must be using them. What did you think?

(We tried out a P&T bebe* but weren't happy with how it fitted in the car with the seatbelt, and the Cabriofix looks good but we'd need the base which doubles the price, and it doesn't have such a long useful life as the optimum would.)

I havent got the optimum, but this time (3rd child) I got a safety 1st capsule and safety 1st clik it wheels hired brand new from local plunket for a year for $80 all up. Bargain I have found it fantastic with teh clik it base staying in the car.

1st child I got a phil & teds bebe. wouldnt bother with that PITA having no base.

2nd child I got a pink capsule of trademe and snap & go, that was good.
but this safety 1st combo is the best. I also got a "happi insert" for free hire with the above.

happy capsule hunting

Just had a look at the optimum online phil & ted website. I think that it looks really low in the back height for when Forward Facing. THe girl in the picture her head is well above the sides of teh carseat which would be no good in a car crash.

We did have a Phil & ted Bebe Recline also for 1st daughter and it was also really low in the back so sold it on trademe when she was nearly 2 and brought a cosco sceanero which she has just grown out of at 4yr 5months.

Hope this helps although not directly an answer to your question.
