I'm currently nearly 8 weeks pregnant, and have had brown spotting all the way along which has been exhausting! I feel like a nervous wreck everytime I go to the bathroom. A week ago I saw my Fertility Dr and he did a scan and we saw the beautiful little heartbeat, I was so relieved! 5 days after my scan the painful cramping has started the spotting has turned into bleeding and its now red.
I just dont know what to do. I have a beautiful little girl who is 2 on Tuesday. I dont know what to think or how to feel, I know I cant blame myself but I do!
I havent had any sickness this pregnancy, I dont feel pregnant- I havent all along and I hate myself for that! I feel like I gave up on this baby

BIG BIG HUGS to you!!
Have you called your Fertility Dr or midwife?

Don't hate yourself and how can you blame yourself?
Pregnancy can be so stressful, unfair, exhausting and just plain unfair at times. It is a mixed emotional time so don't be hard on yourself hun.

My fingers and toes and everything I can cross is crossed for you! I hope this is just a false alarm.

Hi mel - I hardly ever come on any more, but I saw your post and had to comment. Firstly, hugs - I know how absolutely terrified you are just now. I went through almost the exact same thing.

We did IVF, and at 8 weeks (I had no symptoms at 8 weeks either BTW. I started chucking pretty soon after though ) I had a massive bleed. Bright red blood, and a whole lot of it. It continued through the night and into the next. Pain and blood isn't so good - I had cramping I think from memory at that stage, but when we did a scan (to confirm miscarriage), the little ginger was there, happily bopping away, and he's still driving me mad now

Please, please try to be as calm as possible over the weekend. Take it as quietly as you can - let everyone take over for you until you can get into the clinic for a scan on Monday.

Don't forget what your body has been through - your hormones have been screwed with, your bits mucked around with, and you'll be a bit battered inside. So many times, I would curl up under the shower in the wee small hours trying to breathe through the horrendous cramping and pain I was in (I had cysts on my ovaries after the IVF as it turned out but it felt like my insides were coming out).

Ah crap. My littlest is cutting a tooth and is yelling ... gotta dash!

Last instructions - feet up, take it quietly and try not to get too upset until you can see a Dr. Once you've seen a heartbeat, the chance of miscarriage is reduced to something like 5%. Crossing everything that it's just your body noting its displeasure at the fertility treatment xo

Thank you so much for the kind comments, I have spent all night with contraction like cramps and passing blood clots the size of my palm, I guess I'm one of the unlucky 5%.

Sorry to hear that MelW

Do you already have a midwife? I would talk to her and ask for a scan, my experience was quite different to yours but they quickly referred me for extra scans at the hospital to confirm.

Take care

So sorry MelW.

Don't blame yourself. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes we will never be able to understand why. Just like my two angels, this little one wasn't mean't to be...

Take care of yourself - thinking of you

I have just miscarried too. I had a scan and my first HCG test, the last one is just to rule out ectopic. It is my second one MC, my first pregnancy was a MC too. I wanted to share that I have had two happy, healthy children in between :) That's one light at the end of the tunnel. I have had virtually no pain this time, it isn't always painful, my first was incredibly painful, went on for a week and ended with D&C. Take care I'm sure it will happen for both of us at the right time.
