We are thinking about getting a second car, but only want a small one. Toyota starlet, mazda demio, ford focus sized. Currently both kids rear face but the car will only be used if the main car isn't available which is unlikely to be very often, so could FF DS if had to, but would prefer not to.

Has anyone rear faced their radians in a small car, if so what car and how much room was left in the front.

Thanks in advance...

I have, in a tiny two door Honda Logo. It fit rear facing, but it was tight. I had it behind the passenger seat, which had to be all the way forward with the seat completely upright. No one could have comfortably sat in that front passenger seat. I would definitely test the seats out in the car because the angle of the back seat, and the space in the back will all affect the fit differently.

We are rear-facing in a radian behind the drivers seat in a Mazda 3 for DS1 who is almost 2. We had to get the wedge that makes the seat a bit more upright to do so. My DH is 6 foot 6 and would prefer the drivers seat to be able to go a bit further back, but can drive comfortably enough.

In case anyone else wants to put two radians in a small car. Both fit RF in the Mazda demio (mazda 2) DS2 is on the drivers side with the wedge. Plenty of room for DH to drive and DD is on the other side in her reclined mode, and still room in the front seat for legs...

I'm surprised how much room there is in the Mazda 2, pram won't fit in the boot but I use my sling most the time anyway!
