Welcome to the Due in April 2013 thread and CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! What an exciting and amazing journey you are now on!

Welcome also to the OHbaby! community :) Here you will get to make some fantastic friends, learn from others experiences and share a tear and a giggle with each other.

We have two Due in Threads created each month - one is public and one is private. The public one is great for general chat and banter the private thread is password protected and is great for you to share photo's of baby bumps etc

If you're new to the thread and want to be a part of the private group also Just pop in here - say hi and that you're keen to be in the private forum and one of your fellow mums-to-be will private message you the password.

Please do sign up to the weekly pregnancy emails - you can do that by adding your pregnancy in your profile (you can also add your scan pictures when you have one and bubs will be there every time you login to the website).  We recommend signing up the other half as well so they know what you're going through and how baby is growing too :)

Wishing you THE VERY BEST PREGNANCY!!!
From the team at OHbaby!

I'm in same boat and thinking as you ladies. I'm in my TWW after embryo transfer on Sunday. BT is on Tuesday. If I do get PG (and I'm feeling the same pain and tiredness as last time I got PG) then I'll be due 1st April.

Officially PG! HCG yesterday was 64, I'm due 1st April. Hoping like heck this one sticks! Judging by my symptoms it's really digging it's heals into my uterus and sticking!

Congrats Gapling!

I'm due April 1st too

Had bloods done today, more on Friday and Monday to see how everything is going. A bit sad that this time around all I feel is anxiety instead of excitement. I had a M/C in March at 9 weeks that required a D&C - a horrible experience that I hope I don't have to go through again.

Fingers crossed for both of us!

Wow... I just found out yesterday I'm pregnant with my first kid - due April 7th. (I got married on April 1st, see that's the due date for a lot of you ladies :) It's a good date). I've been stalking Oh Baby for the last couple of weeks, analysing my symptoms - I was pretty sure I was, so those two pink lines yesterday just confirmed it.

Thinking sticky thoughts for all of us...

I'm getting my second BT today. Last PG this is where we learnt I was going to MC. (Although, it's only 3 days past the first BT today, whereas last time was 5 days.) So I won't feel out of the woods until the third BT early next week.

Congrats Newmama and jessydukes our little group is growing!

Gapling - sorry to hear today's test didn't go as expected, but don't give up hope yet. Are you having another BT on Monday? Fingers crossed for you xx

I had my second BT today but my midwife won't give me the results until all 3 are in so we know the 'bigger picture', perhaps your midwife should've done the same?!

It's especially hard after a Miscarriage. I got to see my little bean at 7 weeks last time around, little heart was ticking away but he/she was a little on the small side. At the 8 week scan the heart had stopped.

Needless to say I'm very anxious this time around too..

Mine PG is IVF so we are heavily monitored my the fertility clinic. the nurses at the clinic call with each test and the result, the next instructions, what meds to keep taking etc. I haven't even looked at midwives yet as I wanted to make sure it was sticky.
Next BT is Wednesday. They won't do it any sooner as they won't get a clear picture of the way things are going yet.

Yay Gapling! All the best for tomorrow, a darkening line can only be a good sign :)

I had my first Drs appt yesterday and booked myself in with her top recommended midwife (Bunny Cummings - anyone used her before?) things are happening so fast, it's insane.

How are everyone's symptoms? Yesterday was my first day back at work after our honeymoon and I struggled to stay awake. Nausea comes in waves but wasn't too bad yesterday.

My symptoms for the most part have gone. I do get sight cramping, but as long as it's not getting stronger I'm fine with it. And the hunger! Every 1-2 hours after eating I'm hungry again!!

Oh yes, the hunger. I've never been big on morning and afternoon tea but now I need it every day just to get through to the next meal.

I'm still in limbo land. hCG on Wednesday was only 282, up from 116 on Friday. My specialist wants me to continue with the Pessaries (progesterone supplements) as he has seen a baby come from this before. As one lady on my IVF forum group said I'm still on the graph and someone has to make up the bottom numbers. So she has given me some hope.
I went sick from work yesterday as I couldn't handle being around people and all I wanted to do was clean the house! Nesting already and I don't even know the outcome of my PG!

Gapling - I really wish you all the best for a sticky baby. The waiting is the hardest part - if only we all had built in monitors showing how the baby is progressing. Maybe a little video screen with hcg levels, heartbeat and various other vitals ticking away on the outside of our bellies. Come on evolution, I dare you!

Gapling - i to have really low HCG levels i spoke to my midwife who is the same from my son, and she said dont stress aboout HCG levels they vary so much from women to women its reconized as a viable pregnancy with levels over what you have and told me to now wait until dating scan in a few weeks and NOT to go for any more bloods , i looked back at my levels of HCG with my son and they were to crazy low and i have a delicious healthy 20 month old .... so doll try not to stress i am proof low levels dont mean anything

Congratulations Pocohontas! I'm IVF too, through FAW. MC our first in March, 5w 4d with the second now. Hcg's not looking too good for me at this point. Next one on Monday in 2 days. I did do a sneaky POAS today and it's darker than the control line finally, so at least it is going up, I just hope it's enough!

So BT results are 1895 which is bang on, if not a little over, perfect doubling from the 282 5 days ago. However, I am way under the 5th percentile and they are now suspecting an ectopic PG. I have a scan tomorrow(right on 6weeks) to confirm where Baby Gap is. They wouldn't usually be so urgent but as we're off to Fiji on Wednesday they want answers ASAP.
I've been googling ectopic symptoms for a few days and I don't exactly have any! I do occasionally have a pain in a specific spot on my right side which feels like it could be my tube, but it's not extreme pain, like google makes out it should be, but I think it could be my endo being stretched. Will know for sure tomorrow!

Gapling, great to hear those numbers are on the up - best of luck for the scan tomorrow!

If it helps any, I had a pain in a specific spot in the early weeks of my last pregnancy. I read somewhere that around 10% of people would feel a similar thing to that and it was an early pregnancy symptom. Fingers crossed that is what it is for you too!

I'm not a morning eater normally but it's crazy how much food I'm eating now. At least all the food I want is healthy. I' normally have such a sweet tooth but the thought of sugar foods make me feel

I might make us a list if that's ok so we can keep track of everyone?

Love the Disney font Bobsta, what a pretty wee list it is. And exciting to see my name on there :)

I've been thinking long and hard about where I want to give birth, because the midwife I chose only delivers at Waitakere (or home, which is not something that particularly interests me). I'm leaning towards Birthcare. I live right on the cusp between West and Central Auckland, so neither place is closer than the other really - I keep thinking about things like rush hour traffic, but I can't control that so I have to stop worrying! At the wrong time of day I could hit traffic in either direction.

So, before I even hit 6 weeks I'm ready to dump my first midwife! I haven't even met her yet. Does that make me a Mumzilla?

Gapling - let us know how you get on at the scan x

Hope all you ladies are keeping well (and keeping your food down!)

Haha Newmama...all you need to do is delete the "quote" bit at the top before you click post reply. Practice makes perfect

I was reading back and really hope all is going well with Gapling. Those bood results can cause so much worry! I really hope we don't loose anyone in this thread!! Super duper sticky baby dust to all...make that super glue!

Jessy that's definietly not a momzilla...and I LOVE that term BTW! Go with what feels right. Birthcare is awesome, I did a tour there once. Ticker looks great too. I had so much fun doing mine last night. Made an appointment to see a midwife next Thursday. My excitement is really kicking in now

Hi everyone! I just got a BFP today and had to get DH to come home from work to tell him! Not telling anyone else yet - I think I'm due around April 15 but I don't have dates as I'm still breastfeeding my toddler so we 'caught the first egg!'! Very excited to be expecting #2. Hasn't sunk in yet though! Just randomly tested in the middle of the day, not using FMU or anything so it was a surprisingly strong positive!

I think I can hopefully join this group too ladies. I have a son who turned 2 in May and we lost a baby in Feb this year (missed miscarriage at 12 wk scan) followed by D&C which has been very difficult to deal with. We have been trying ever since and I finally got a positive test last Monday!!!! I'm just trying to take things slowly this time and not get my hopes up. I don't have a GP appt until Saturday and will wait until middle of next week to go for a blood test. They reckon the baby we lost died at around 6 weeks, so if we can make it to 7 or 8 weeks, I might be able to relax a little.

Gapling - fingers crossed for your scan!!!!! I have a good feeling for you :)

Jessydukes - I gave birth at Birthcare with #1 and highly recommend it. Such a nice atmosphere (particularly if you're like me and don't like hospitals).

I was living in Titirangi at the time and used a midwife from Green Bay Midwives.

Congrats Speck & Secret - and thanks for the plug for Birthcare. I think it looks really lovely - not having the epidural option is a bit daunting, but I think I'll get by.

I know how you feel Speck, trying not to get your hopes up - it's really hard though, isn't it? At 5 wks it already feels so real... how could it not stick? I've already told way more people than I should - most of my office know, plus immediate family and a couple of other close friends. Terrible, I know. How have the rest of you been getting on with keeping it under your hat?

Love the list Bobsta! I'm going to 'guess' a due date of April 5th because it keeps popping into my mind. I'll adjust it after the first scan if I'm miles out.

Congrats Speck & Secret!! :)
Speck, my son is also a May 2010 baby were you in the May 2010 group at all? I can't remember that far back now!!

yay yay yay, more people on the list! I feel like doing a little victory dance haha.

Speck I completely understand your feelings as I too went thru the exact same thing and had hyperemesis on top of it all. It's heart breaking to be told at the 12 week scan the baby died at 6/7 weeks knowing that I was in and out of hospital for an extra 5 weeks for nothing. But onwards and upwards right?! I'm sending you lots of warm fuzzy vibes

Jessy my secrecy hat has been well and truly trampled...the way I figured it was if something went wrong, are they the people I happy knowing? The answer was so yes. That and I'm damned useless at keeping secrets!

Last time, we told absolutely everyone, at like 4 weeks! Ha - I was just so confident that it would stick ya know. This time I've been more reserved and kept it to a few close friends, mostly cos I just don't want to talk about it toooo much and really just wanna get through these next few weeks.

Pinky - no I wasn't in the May 2010 group, but I did lurk in there a wee bit . Think I remember your son was a challenging sleeper, was that right? Hope he has settled down now? My boy is ok on the sleeping front but can be a real handful in other respects. Whilst I didn't initially want a 3yr gap (would've preferred a smaller one), I'm now beginning to think it might be a good idea! DS1 will hopefully be potty trained and that much more independent ya know...

I have spilled the beans this time but only to a few friends and family. Last time I waited until 3 months.

That's right Speck, my boy was a dreadful sleeper - up to 11 wake ups every night. That is partly why we decided not to have any more children. I was just super tired and over it. We made some changes back in Feb and he has finally started sleeping through the night in the last month or so. Still not every night but he is sooooo much better. I feel like a new person and much more positive about having another baby now.

Fingers crossed to us all for sticky bubbas, can't wait for the next 2-3 weeks to be over!

Hey all, just popping my head in here briefly ...got 2 faint lines on dipstick tests on Sun & yesterday, still in disbelief tbh. Last pregnancy ended in miscarriage around 8 weeks, and I have PCOS ...so one day at a time. Booked in to see my GP Thursday morning to confirm and see where to go from here, I was on the pill briefly, and only been off it for a little over 4 weeks, haven't had AF since so no idea where I am in cycle or when we could have even conceived. So nervous and paranoid, having been through the MC last time!

Soccer - Oh good luck, I hope it's a sticky one. The waiting is the worst part!

Secretly - I did the same thing when I got the positive pee stick, I called hubby and said "Can you come home for lunch please?" I tried to be subtle but he could clearly hear my smile because he knew just exactly why I was calling.

Baby GAP is in my uterus!!!!!!!! Massive happy right now. But interestingly the US woman said they measure from embryo transfer not egg collection, so I'm actually around 5 weeks and measuring perfectly for that. So when Fertility Associates call tomorrow to talk about the results, I'll ask about that because I'm so confussed about it. But yay! Not ectopic!!!!!!!!!

I'm driving myself slightly bonkers and overthinking everything at the moment, I did another First Response test this morn and again the second line was so faint ...would have thought after waiting a few days it should be darker/come up faster! am wondering if I'm earlier on than I suspect, and feeling a little apprehensive after what happened last time!

If I ring my GP (shes in a diff town to me as we've moved) can I request she send through blood orders to our Lab Tests here, so when I see her for our appt in the morning she will already have blood results and be able to suss the bigger picture? Or do Dr's generally not do that?

Posted By: Pinkybar
Date Posted: 08 August 2012 at 8:32am
SM - I have no idea about the GP sending through the form but it's worth a go!

I think the 2nd line can stay faint for a wee while. So maybe you are just earlier than you thought. Good luck with the blood test!

Congrats HMM!! I'm pretty hungry too. I'm eating up large before the morning sickness really kicks in and I start struggling to eat.

Oh, I must remember to go and get some folic acid - definitely not going to let them talk me into getting elevit this time!!
