We've been living in Wellington since January and have been on the waiting list for our local creche for 5 months now so need to start looking elsewhere!

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and would really like to get dd settled in a nursery/creche for a couple of mornings a week so I can relax in the final months and start 'getting ready' for bubs #2!

She's 16 months and isn't walking yet. She also has hyper mobility so is a little behind developmentally hence the later walking. Child Development lady doesn't think she'll be walking for another few months at least.

Can anyone recommend any nurseries in Welly? Ideally we'd like a small adult to child ratio so she isn't ignored if there's a problem. I've driven past the Kindercare in Johnsonville a few times but need to make an appointment to view. ANY recommendations would be appreciated!

What areas would you prefer?

We're in Wadestown but are happy to travel a distance for a good one. We're currently renting for another 6 months and will then start looking for a house the other side of town (Island Bay, Roseneath, Seatoun areas) but don't mind using Johnsonville, Karori, Ngaio or Khandallah.

I'll consider anywhere if it's a good one!

Ds was at I-kids on Kent Terrace and they were fantastic. Only reason we left there is because we moved out to the Hutt and it was too much distance to travel. Never had any issues with them and the were great with the children.

We are in Miramar and DS1 goes to I-Kids on Cambridge Tce (they have three: Kent Tce, Cambridge Tce & Greta Point). He loves it and so do we. DS 2 will definitely be going there as well as long as we can get him in!

Thanks for the replies.

Will defo call I-Kids this morning. Much happier knowing that other people have been happy with them. I hope there isn't too much of a waiting list now!

Don't be put off if they tell you it's full - it's not a waiting list in the usual sense. You can get in really quick - it just depends on whether a vacancy comes up that matches the days you want and for a child the right age.

Good luck!
