i never went for mine all 3 times... i was pretty straight forward though, didnt have stiches or anything. my blood pressure had been up in two of the pregnancies but at my last midwife check it was fine this time so didnt think i needed to go again. but from what i'd guess it would be free as part of the care for pregnancy and early days. maybe it would depend on your doctor though.

Your midwife usually discharges you from her care at 6 weeks, then you go back to your GP.
In my case my GP at the time was USELESS so I got 2 freebie 6-week checks (2nd one back with my old GP - long story!)

I had to pay for mine. I wouldn't have bothered with it but midwife advised me to when I was discharged at 4 weeks as I'd had an infection following the birth.

I never had one... never heard of one until now! I was discharged around the 4 week mark and at that point was given the ok (first time with c/s and second time with episiotomy). I had a m/w for delivery but when I took the baby to the Doc at 6 weeks he would ask if I was ok and that was about it.
If your m/w hasn't discharged you yet, just hold onto her for another 2 weeks

I was told to go for one with kobe but didnt and this time round i did cos they do a 6 week child check with your doctor so at the same time she just asked me if i had anything i wanted to ask, if i had any problems, how i was feeling etc... did blood pressure and that was it. Cos i was there with addison aswell I didnt get charged. Oh and she gave me a prescription for the mini pill to.
