I figured it couldn't hurt to ask, but lately I've been wondering whether or not there is any way I could try and get Erin to start taking a dummy now - even though she's never been big on them. She's taken one on the odd occasion, but doesn't use one for sleep etc. Am I leading a horse to water here, or is there some hope? LOL A bit of a rhetorical question I suppose, but like I said... figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

you could probably get her to take one but is there any reason you want her to have one now? Addison doesnt have one and im kind of glad that she has learnt to settle herself with out one so that we arent going to have problems later on when we want to get rid of it.

I was vaguely hoping it would give me another option for helping her to settle, but as I mentioned originally, she hasn't been fussed about them at all... only seriously used it once or twice.

Piper has only just started using hers and she took to it fine. I have given it to her as she finds it good with her teething at the mo to chew on it

Jake would only take ONE partciular kind - that we couldn't get in Japan - it was sent to us by my MIL. luckily was the cheapest one on the market - $1. If you really want her to have one, try a variety.

I would also say try another one - i know lots of people like the look of the Nuk ones but they are quite little.. we found the most success with giving Paris a dummy the same shape her her obttle teats.. ie we had the flat orthodontic bottle teats, and the flat orthodontic dummy.

Briona started on a dummy around 2-3 months, sorry I can't remember exactly when but I think she was almost 3mos. She took to it fine even though she had never been one to suckle fingers etc beforehand. Only problem is, how to wean them after... it was definitely the right choice for Bria though, so I'm sure Erin will be fine.

same here - Caitlin will only accept the Avent anti colic dummies as they are the same shape as her bottle teats.
We tried her on a cutey Infanti one that was pink and had a kitten on it... but NOOOOOO! Just the plain old boring clear ones for Miss Thang
