Morning,
I seem to be spending a lot of time researching car seats and not getting anywhere! Anyone else found it quite difficult to compare carseats? So many different makes, models, features and prices!
I see that Baby Factory is advertising the "Infa Secure Luxi RIDE Convertible Carseat" as exclusive to them and currently on special (down from $349 to $279) - apparently is it designed for 0 - 8 year olds which sounds good in theory...am having difficulty finding any local reviews of this car seat though.
Does anyone have this car seat and can let me know their experience? Or otherwise recommend a car seat you have used??
Many thanks

I can't, sorry. We use Radians. I initially got one because I have chubby babies, and to me it's important to be able to keep them rear-facing as long as possible. Radians have a high rear-facing weight limit. Now I've got two kids they're also great as they're slim and I can fit two of them side by side in the back. They are a bit pricey, though, unfortunately.

We have a Safe n Sound royal. Never had any complaints but really don't have anything to compare it against. If I was to go and purchase another one today I would buy the same one again. http://http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/community/mum-reviews/car-seats/safe-n-sound-royale/" rel="nofollow - http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/community/mum-reviews/car-seats/safe-n-sound-royale/

I looked at it online. The problem is it doesnt tell you what the rear faceing weight limit is. It also doesnt tell you what the harness weight limit is. You need to no these things first. Keep in mind plunket now say rear facing until 1year old but actully recommend rear facing until 2years old if you can because it is safer for them. Some carseats only rear face until 9kgs which isnt enough.
We have the Radian. However there are carseat's out there just as good and do the same thing for less money

I did find a overseas review for this seat which stated that the RF limit was only 9kg. My 7mth old is heavier than that so I'd suggest looking at an alternative. We bought a Cosco Scenera which has a RF limit of 16kg (I think - I'll double check that) but cost us less than $200.00

Here is a link to the review I found: Link" rel="nofollow - http://www.productreview.com.au/p/infa-secure-luxi-ride.html
And I also found the Scenera RF to 18.3kg
Good luck with your search.

Yep, we have one as well, specifically bought because it's the cheapest to RF for longer, esp when you have chunky babies!

Set your budget & then ask them what the best car seat is in this range.
I just got the royale which at the moment is on special at baby factory for $349 down from $500. RF to 12kg.
Very plush & soft for bubs, they're certainly well supported in there.
The one you are looking at only rear faces til 9kg & depending on the size of your baby that might only be 6 months or it might be a year like my kids. There are also reviews that the straps are too short.

Thanks all for the advice, found it very helpful!
We ended up going with a Safe n Sound "Lifestyle". Apparently it is a newish release and I got it at Farmers on a superdeal (down from $429 to $289). Happy with it so far!

For future reference for anyone else buying the Infa Secure 0-8 model, it's awesome, very sturdy, not much movement once installed (unlike alot of others) and takes up less room than the capsule we currently had. We spent a morning fitting and testing all the models at our local baby factory, they are so helpful (we were a little painful) but we wanted it to fit our baby and vehical. Both my husband and I have double cab utes so size was a big issue. We definately give it 5 stars!

Hey there. What Baby Factory did you use to get fitted? We purchased a Safe and Sound Royale from Onehunga and the woman/manager there didn't know if the bolt in our car was an anchor bolt and then couldn't fit it. We had already purchased seat with discussion they would fit. Then advised us to go elsewhere and pay $35 to have someone else fit it. CRAZY! Was going to buy carseat number 2 from there but think I'll head somewhere else. VERY annoyed that have new carseat but redundant as sitting in spare room. Argh!

Snelson, Baby Factory in Botany are very helpful, esp the older lady, I bought 2 seats there and when I was ready to change from capsule to seat, I made an appt and they fitted it for me :)

It is very essential to set a budget first. You can buy fixed front-facing or booster-type car seat. It is suggested to make sure that safety mark sticker on car seat. This will make sure that it is government approves.
