What do you guys think of washing soda?

Do you reckon it's ok just to use that & cannistan to wash my nappies? I've used it the last couple of washes cause I've run out of Rocking green & my nappies have gone soft again! We've got super hard water so maybe this could be a majic combo for us here????????????

Would there be any detriment to using it?

I use a mix of washing soda, baking soda and Lux flakes (1:1:2), they come out beautifully soft. My research said it's good for the environment and better than unknown chemicals on baby's skin. No reactions to it so far

I might give that a go, except maybe up the washing soda seeing we've got hard water.

Be very careful using Lux Flakes Mrs Mac - they coat the fibres and build up very quickly affecting absorbency and causing smells. You'd need to strip wash quite regularly if you're using Lux Flakes :)
