Subject: paid parental leave?

I'm due to finish work in two weeks and go on maternity leave.
I applied for Paid parental leave in december as per my employers instructions and filled in all the forms and posted them off.
I'm yet to hear back from the Ird. Is that normal? Shouldnt i get confirmation or something? This is my first time dealing with the government for any payments or anything so I'm not sure what normal processes are.
Has anyone done this before that can tell me what I should do or who I should call to confirm they got everything? Thanks in advance :-)

I would follow it up, check with your employer & IRD.
With my last child my work had not set it up even though they said they did when I rang to check. I also rang IRD to confirm who had not been notified & I gave 3mths notice. I had taken copies of everything & faxed them to IRD who set up my payments straight away. They also contacted my work who had to verify everything but it meant that my payment were not late due to my work.

It takes around 10 days(from when you sent the papers) for them to reply, they send you a letter with your payment amounts and dates.they are usually pretty good,so if you havent heard anything after a couple of weeks ring them.
