Anyone have the Safety 1st Complete Air car seat, and if so, would you recommend it and does it comfortably fit into a smallish car (I have a Subaru Legacy sedan)? I want to rear-face bubs as long as poss and this car seat looks like a good option, just don't know if it will fit comfortably when RF. Thanks a bunch for any advice:) |

My sister has this seat in her VW Golf rearfacing in the middle seat. It has a very high shell and only works (IMO) because she is short. It's worth trying one in your car (Babyfactory should let you do this) to see what you think. The Safety 1st Complete Air looks to be as tall as my son's Radian. I also have a Cosco Scenara (RF's to 18kg) and a Brio Zento (Rf's to 25kg) both have a shorter in shell height so take up less room. :-) ------------- http://lilypie.com" rel="nofollow">  http://lilypie.com" rel="nofollow">

I bought one but have decided not to use it RF as its so damn long, I have a mazda 6 stationwagon, I didnt like the head area being so loose either but did manage to tether it, just to keep it steady but I hated the passenger seat so far forward, Im using one FF which is perfect :) Im trying to sell it but will keep it for FF if not. I have an SUV (Honda CRV) and purchased this (seriously cute swirly design!). I could not get it to fit well in my car, and the certified carseat lady at Baby Factory couldn't either. I did find it very large/tall, and had to have my front passenger seat all the way forward when RF'ing, and I consider my back seat area to be quite large! Ended up purchasing the Evenflo Triumph, as the only isofix seat that would fit in my car (something to do with the width of the base of the carseat and the isofix belts having to go around them resulting in too much movement?). Ideally I'd have the Safety 1st, but I also love the ease of use of the Evenflo Symphony. The isofix belts are really easy to apply, it self-adjusts, and the tightening of the belts on baby is really easy. The triumph is good, but a bit more of a faff to tighten baby's belts. It is an excellent fit for baby, and isn't too tall, so my front passenger still has tonnes of room. |

We hired one from Plunket but I didn't like the fact that it was so big and bulky. We also have a Mazda 6 and had to have the passenger seat quite far forward to fit it. Also, the angle of the seat is quite deep and as My baby is super small he just slouched down no matter how much I tried to pack around him. I am returning this seat to Plunket and have instead hired an evenflow one from baby factory. | I don't suppose you could tell me the approx length of the Symphony when RF, could you? I would go try the seat in my car, but I live on Waiheke Island so taking my car over to Auckland to try it is too expensive! Thanks a bunch! |

My Evenflo Symphony is rear-facing in a Mazda 3 (not a huge back seat space). The measurement from the seat it is sitting on to the back of the front passenger seat is approx 70 cm at the bottom and 80 cm at the top (is that the measurements you are after??). The front seat is currently touching (but not pushing onto) the carseat. The passenger seat could comfortably go forward a little too. We got the symphony as we wanted to rear-face for a while and the shell was not as long as other extended rear-facing seats. We have since managed to get a radian in the Mazda 3 with an angle adjuster as well, but you can't use an angle adjuster for a younger babe. My boys are above 97th percentile in height and Mr 2 years 8 months would be too tall to rear-face in the Evenflo now but would have been fine in there until at least 2 (haven't actually tried him for a while). Mr 13 months has a while to go yet before he would be too tall for rear-facing.
