Welcome to the Due in November 2013 thread and CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! What an exciting and amazing journey you are now on! Welcome also to the OHbaby! community :) Here you will get to make some fantastic friends, learn from others experiences and share a tear and a giggle with each other. We have two Due in Threads created each month - one is public and one is private. The public one is great for general chat and banter the private thread is password protected and is great for you to share photo's of baby bumps etc If you're new to the thread and want to be a part of the private group also Just pop in here - say hi and that you're keen to be in the private forum and one of your fellow mums-to-be will private message you the password. Please do sign up to the weekly pregnancy emails - you can do that by adding your pregnancy in your profile (you can also add your scan pictures when you have one and bubs will be there every time you login to the website). Hi girls I'm pretty sure i'm due Nov 5th, I ovulated on the 12th Feb. Last period was Jan 22nd. I have my scan next mon (11th) - 6 weeks from my last period. Im nervous thats its going to be a waste of time for me and my hubby, will they be able to see anything? They said to come in at 6 weeks for a dating scan, im wondering whether to schedule it for another few weeks time. But im really interested to see that everything is ok, and its not an ectopic etc |

Hi all, Found out last week that I'm preggie with #2, due 6th Nov. Haven't seen the doctor or contacted a midwife yet though, not going for a dating scan for this one as I know when everything happened besides if this one is the same as her/his brother then they'll be early anyway!! How is everyone feeling? Oh and ditto for the private group please :) |

Hi everyone Yesterday I got my BFP after a successful round of IVF. We are very excited about having a sibling for our gorgeous daughter. I don't have an official due date yet, but found an IVF due date calculator online and it says my due date will be 21 November 2013, so I think it's safe to assume we will meet our new addition sometime in November. I made some great friends through my last Due In group and hope to do the same this time round. Would love to join the private group! Hi all, I live in Wellington. I'm pregnant for the first time. Due on 17th November. I'm absolutely thrilled but also scared and a bit confused. I've just been to my GP and got a bundle of information but I'm new to NZ and have no real idea about what I'm supposed to do next. My Dr told me to find a midwife and get blood tests (she gave me a lab form). But how do I know which midwife to use? I don't really understand how maternity care works in NZ. In the UK i would have been referred to a midwife at the local hospital and they would have sorted out all tests, dating and explained to me what to do and what us going to happen. I don't have anyone here to ask for advice and I feel rather lost, alone and a long way from home. Please help! Also, please can I have access to the private forum. Thanks Laura |

Exciting Laura! I'm not sure on the midwife thing either but I think the point here is that we can choose our own midwife (have a look online or someone else here who is in Wellington may have some advice). I know in Otago they have a website with details of heaps of midwives, Wellington may have the same. I guess doing it this way means you get to choose a midwife you think is suitable for you? I think Wellington is a tough area though so the sooner you get in the better probably. Laura - it's really frustrating the first time when you don't want to ask people for recommendations this early as they'll know you're pregnant! There is an old thread to recommend midwives: https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/recommend-your-midwife_topic34012_page8.html?KW=recommend+midwife" rel="nofollow - Recommend Your Midwife I found it best to do a little research and decide where I wanted to give birth; hospital, a birthing centre or home. Then look for a midwife who delivers where I want to birth. When delivering at a hospital or birthing centre you have two options 1) Team/shared care. This is a team of about 5 midwives based at the hospital/birthing centre. You will probably meet all of them over your check-ups while pregnant, and whoever is on that shift will deliver your baby. At he birthing centre near me a different group of midwives do your follow-up care. 2) Independent midwives. Independent midwives often work in groups, so if your midwife is unavailable one of the others in her group will care for you at that appointment or delivery. I chose an independent midwife because I wanted to deliver at a birthing centre, but if things got complicated I wanted my midwife to be able to come to the hospital with me and continue my care there, which shared care cannot. On the other hand, things don't normally get complicated A tip I picked u from on here, when you pick a midwife/team try googling them. ------------- Jan '13

If you scroll right down to the bottom on the forums homepage there is a series of private forums, you just click on the November one and it should ask you for the password. I struggled to find it on the mobile-friendly version of the site. |

Hi ladies, I just found out on Saturday that I am pregnant. Have talked to my midwife and should be due round 26 November. I am 21 and this is my first baby and my partner and I are so nervous (although I am moreso excited, he is not so much though). We are freaking out about telling his family though, we know they won't be happy at all. Any tips or help would be much appreciated. also can I please join the private forum Thanks!
